I first encountered the intimate courtyard with its serene soft lighting accentuating the Mediterranean tile work and fountain. From the moment I entered the unit I felt relaxed which was important because I was there for work and staying for 12 nights. From the front door you could see three distinct spaces, living room, dining room and kitchen that all flowed together nicely. The furnishings were stylish but had an emphasis on comfort. There were historic Santa Barbara framed photographs and original paintings throughout. The living room had an amazing 50” LED 3D capable TV. It might seem odd to focus on the TV but this one will make you want to replace yours at home. The picture was so amazing that I watched the first hour or so of the provided Avitar DVD no less than 6 times LOL. Both bedrooms had smaller versions of the same TV. The integrated Sonos music system allowed me to create my own radio stations through Pandora and play it in any room in the rental. The fully equipped kitchen (unfortunately I had little time to use it) was beautiful with top of the line stainless steel appliances and utensils to prepare any meal you could think of. It even had an espresso machine with a selection of flavored coffees and a milk steamer. I'm an 11 year Four Seasons Hotel s and Resorts former employee and let's just say I'm not easy to impress, but I was impressed here. The quality of the design, the furnishings, and the entire property is like being at a five star hotel. The bed was one of the most comfortable I have ever slept in. The closet had Four Seasons style robes and slippers as well as a working in bed tray which came in handy several times. The bathrooms were nicely appointed with lightly scented bath products, lint brush, scale, hair dryer etc. This is the first time I have ever written a review but I felt compelled to do so others can enjoy this hidden jewel. I will definitely be back.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, girls getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.
