Our family of 6 , with kids ranging from 14 to 7, had a fantastic two weeks here. Great kayaking, safe location to learn and practice sailing on the sunfish, easy access to the mainland. Great swimming even at low tide. So many spots to watch lots of boats coming and going and the nearby sailing camp's races. Big, well designed yard privately hidden behind trees with climbing trees and space to play. Game closet, library and kitchen were very well stocked...large herb garden right outside the door! Great for a family that wants to unplug and spend time together, while still offering lots of beautiful private spaces for reading or spending time alone. So impressed with the quality of everything. Finally, the owners and the property manager were incredibly responsive, organized, friendly, professional and helpful. Wouldn't change a thing, and we hope to return in the future.

Recommended for: Romantic getaway, families with young children, families with teenagers.
As soon as we arrived, this house felt like a happy home. It feels like a place built for people who enjoy sharing time together. The large windows frame amazing views of the surrounding bay and vegetation. The house is incredibly well equipped with all the utensils and appliances you may need. Our 3 young kids (3,5,7) enjoyed the calm beach and exploring at low tide. I cannot stress enough how welcoming, kind, and friendly all the people who are involved with this property are. Please be aware that you are renting a home when you are fortunate enough to find this place, and be respectful to treat is as such.

Really enjoyed our stayGuest comment entered by owner
Really enjoyed our stay
We have really enjoyed our stay on the Island. The house is truly beautiful and very well equipped and it was great to use the kayaks. Now that we are in another house without all the games and kitchen utensils and everything else we miss, the kids already stated your house was the best.

Would love to come back
We had a fabulous week, thanks for sharing your home!! We appreciated the impeccable carpentry and loved the decor. The boys managed to catch a few sand sharks off the shore which was lots of fun for them as well. And the swing was the big hit of the week! We don't know our plans yet for next summer but would love to come back.

About the owner: Our family grew up in the midwest but vacationed every summer on the Cape with extended family. We purchased our property on Bassett's Island in 1989, and designed and rebuilt our summer getaway in 1998 using a well known local craftsman builder. We cherish our time out on the island away from the hustle and bustle of our jobs and city living. It is a wonderful and unique place to recharge. We are pleased to share our island home with you and hope you enjoy it as much as we do.
