Villa de Agua at 'Los Elementos' is an EXQUISITE, Balinese luxury villa set in the rainforests of Costa Rica's southern Pacific zone. The villa overlooks the Pacific Ocean, and is just a short walk or drive to some of the area's most spectacular and least crowded beaches. Based on the first of the 5 Balinese elements (water, earth, fire, air and ether), this secluded home uses the infinity-edge swimming pool, heated jacuzzi, lotus ponds and other water features to create a seductive atmosphere to soothe any soul.
Villa de Agua sets a new standard for quality, beauty and service. It is truly an architectural masterpiece, and a work of art. Surrounded by acres of gardens, the villa is away from the hubbub of the tourist areas, and yet easily accessible to pristine beaches, restaurants and activities. With over 12,000 Sq. Feet (1,115 Sq. Meters) of indoor and outdoor living space, and just four luxurious master bedrooms the villa is one of the most exquisite homes on the coast.
From the moment you arrive, the artistic and architectural details are apparent: Balinese urns and flowering orchids in the parking area, the bridged entry over a lotus pond (to keep evil spirits out!), statues of Buddha and Ganesha, travertine floors, and imported Asian bas relief carvings. Each master bedroom has its own changing room/vanity area, and en-suite bathroom.
The indoor living areas open fluidly to the outdoor living areas: There is an open-air lounge next to the dining area and pool. There is a royal pavilion from which to read, relax and enjoy the ocean views. There's even a Balinese ancestor shrine, which makes a perfect yoga terrace.
In addition, Villa de Agua has a Balinese Pavilion guest house, close to the property, but separate, which can be included in the rental. This studio pavilion has a king sized bed, sofa bed, and its own private terrace and pool.
Villa de Agua is IDEAL for those who want barefoot luxury, to be off the beaten path, and ensconced in nature. It is a tropical villa fit for royalty!

This villa was just spectacular. The pictures of it online are amazing but they don't begin to do it justice. Only seeing (and staying) is believing. Costa Rica at its best.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, romantic getaway.

Los Elementos is an amazing retreat. From the moment we began our meandering drive up through the lush tropical gardens to reach the entry of the house, to the moment the staff greeted us at the door with refreshing coconut water ( Fresh from the tree and served still in the coconut) we knew we were in a special place. We've never been to a more comfortable and beautifully appointed home. The bedrooms are luxurious ( each one a complete suite with a view of the ocean) and the living areas of the house are so perfectly put together that one might never want to leave. Sipping cocktails in the infinity pool at sunset was a highlight. Another highlight was watching a pair of toucans in the trees while enjoying our morning coffee. With all the fine appointments and details Los Elementos looks like an exclusive resort but with the care and attention that makes it feel like a home and best of all you can have it all to yourself!Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

Two months after my stay, I am still in awe of this amazing villa. No expense was spared regarding its architecture, design and site location. Sweeping, panoramic views of the Pacific provided the backdrop for memories that will undoubtedly last a lifetime. The ever present staff was beyond courteous and efficient and catered to our every whim without being obtrusive. What a pleasure it was to come home to such opulence after our many excursions to the beach, ziplining, and hiking. The professional private chef and masseuse that we hired were worth double what we paid !! Unfortunately, my brain is unable to come up with enough positive superlatives to do this place justice. I hope and pray that fate allows me to return to this paradise in the near future.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, pet owners, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

This was my second stay at this superbly designed house and garden. Among the many details i love is how the "public area" (pool, dining areas, kitchen, lounge/living spaces) are in the open air. Too often, one escapes winter to the tropics and then spends a lot of time in overly cold air conditioning. Much of the open air, public areas are covered, giving welcome shade (and cooling breezes) on warm sunny days. Ample sunny areas are available for sunning, as well. These open areas allow one to enjoy the best of the tropics, but not being too warm. The large, exquisitely furnished bedrooms (each with an full ocean view) are air conditioned, allowing for cool sleep. My group loves to cook and the large kitchen is amply supplied for discriminating cooks. The nearby grill is a dream to use. One night, we hired one of the local, recommended caterers to cook for us. The meal was delicious, memorable in the best of ways, and perfectly served. As luxurious as the house is, it is close to beautiful, nearly empty beaches and amazing national parks for hiking. We all hated to leave this remarkable place.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

This property is well above exquisite; as a friend put it, the space is over the top and back down the other side. As we soaked in the jacuzzi and cooled in the pool, we were able to simultaneously watch the sun sink in the Pacific, watch a pair of toucans feed their young in a tree near the terrace, and listen to the songs frogs and cicadas. The detailing of this property is exquisite and the staff is beyond professional. Every minute here is a new delicious taste and adventure.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, people with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

Words can not describe how amazing this house is. The feeling of luxury was immediate upon walking through the front door. There are so many unique and beautiful aspects of the house design that I found myself constantly looking around trying to soak it all in...until I watched the first sunset from the house, and from then on I have never been more relaxed in my life. I loved all my excursions as well, the Jungle and Beaches are right there and truly beautiful, but I loved going back to the house every evening for the sunset. There is also an extremely friendly and very helpful staff that without them my trip would not have been nearly as enjoyable. Go there...it's worth it!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

This Balinese estate is truly magnificent with every amenity. The Balinese design elements, the furnishings and gardens are exceptional. It is extremely comfortable!!! The ocean views, abundance of wildlife, the sunsets and star gazing are amazing. The staff is very friendly, especially Jorge, and really enjoyed the farewell brunch the staff prepared. The local beach is beautiful and was totally deserted. There were plenty of local activities to keep the most avid adventurer busy (we did the ocean kayak tour to Playa Ventanas) but it was difficult to leave such an amazing, peaceful house.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

Our stay at Villa de Agua was saturated with luxury and relaxation from the monent we arrived. Greated by an uber attentive staff with fresh cocnut water and icy cool towels, our travel tension melted away and two weeks of lux pampering began. As we were given a tour of the house, the attention to detail was eveident from the start but as our days unfolded, it seemed that we were experiencing certian areas of the property for the first time. Our room was exceptioally spaciuos (We were in the main floor Master Suite) and had everythig we could need for the two weeks we were there: complimentary beach bags, sarongs for the ladies, and a fully stocked mini fidge. The butler arranged for our every whim and fancy: massage, kyacking tours, fabulous chef cooked meals and great lazy days at the beach. The decks and terraces are so spacious that we practiced open air yoga every morning followed by tropical fruit smoothies to die for. There were six in our group all with differing interests. Some were happy to never leave the property and there was no reason to! others more adventerous, explored the jungle and local towns. There is plenty of great dining in the area and near by Manuel Antionio offers spicy night life. the house has a fully equipped kitchen for cooking in , breakfasts and lunches etc. A few of my favorite memories: toucans in the trees, outdoor showers, chela the property dog ( so sweet), fresh guanabana, blue butterflies, perfect sand dollar on the beach, the matress ( sooo comfortable), orchids every where, margaritas!, afternoon nap in the palapa, perfect sunsets, perfect sunsets perfect sunsets every day! I know this is a gushing review but our stay was so incredible I cannot think of a negative issue. I have never returned from a holiday so relaxed and fufilled. We are already planning how we can get back there next year.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, pet owners, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

The Unique Benefits at this Villa:
We enjoy 'getting away from it all', while not sacrificing all of the modern-day amenities we've grown accustomed to. It is amazing to sit in the pavilion, surrounded by rainforest, watching the red orb of the sun set into the Pacific ocean, while listing to the toucans sing!
