Having this house as our base camp in the city made our trip perfectly balanced. The city is exciting and full of so much to see and do, and having a private place that is quiet and beautiful made it possible for us to more fully enjoy our time because we could relax and meet the next day recharged and refreshed. The kitchen was a joy to cook in, so we cooked breakfasts and packed lunches there, returning in the evening to pop something in the Viking oven for dinner. The little solarium in the middle of the house warms the home nicely in the day, and this in combination with the cross-breeze when we opened up the windows in the front and back of the house made it quite comfortable. Hiking up the mosaic staircase, just a block away, and up to Grand View Park for sunset is a perfect end to the day. The public transportation is very easy to use from here, boarding MUNI's N-line a few blocks down the hill. Thanks to John and Shelley for having us at this great house and letting us use your CA Academy of Sciences passes; they worked for two adults and three children! I would definitely stay here again.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

1st Class quality residence. It's generously stocked with essentials in the realms of needs and the furniture, fittings and space is vast. The location is convenient for Muni tram/bus travel into town, three blocks from the Golden Gate Park. There's ample space to park a car 30 yards around the corner. The information provided by the owners before and on arrival is very informative and comprehensive. The excellent view from the bedroom windows , fog permitting, is out to the Pacific. There's a large Supermarket within a mile's drive. John and Shelley are welcoming and helpful hosts who reside on the lower floors of the extremely well-maintained three storey house. The Upper floor is yours exclusively. We can't recommend it strongly enough as you'll want for nothing and I promise you will not be disappointed. We'd certainly choose it again on any return to SF.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

My parents and I had fantastic 3 day stay at this great and very spacious 2 bedroom apartment - which really felt like home away from home. Extremely well equipped kitchen, loads of books to read and movies to watch (although TV is in master bedroom not the living room) in a central location a few blocks up from Golden Gate Park, loads of restaurants and the tram to get into down town. John was a very kind and generous host who we really enjoyed meeting and really hope to have the pleasure of coming back to San Fran and stay in this beautiful home with great views from both bedrooms. Excellent value for money and one of the very rare places that does not charge a deposit or cleaning fee. We also had a car rental and had no problems whatsoever finding parking on the street outside the house.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Of all the VRBO rentals we have stayed in over the years, this was the best. I can't decide what I loved most about this house: the inner courtyard where we enjoyed coffee every morning, the amazing views of the Pacific ocean from both bedrooms, the great location, fantastic kitchen.... I could go on and on. John and Shelley were both very helpful and extremely nice. The house is beautiful and beautifully furnished, and the beds are very comfortable. Next time we are in SF, we hope to stay here again, and again, and again.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We at Shelley and John's wonderful apartment for 4 nights. The apartment was spotlessly clean, completely equipment and beautifully furnished. We found all we needed to make coffee in the morning and there were even cookies to snack on. The location of the apartment is outstanding. It is on a quiet street residential street with plenty of easy parking. It is walking distance to Golden Gate Park and some very good restaurants. It was easy to get to all parts of the city or to get out of the city for day trips. We will happily stay at Shelley and John's lovely apartment when we are back in SF.Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We recently stayed at John & Shelley's home. We can't rave enough about it, it was the best accommodation of our 6 week trip. John & Shelley were wonderful hosts, so welcoming & very helpful. We had emailed several times before our arrival & their replies were very quick, they sent a comprehensive information pack before we arrived which was very helpful. Their home is amazing, so comfortable (the best beds ever) it is very well appointed, with everything you need & more. The location is great & the views are fantastic. Street parking was no problem & transport nearby. We have absolutely no hesitation to recommend John & Shelley's home. Trish, Mark, Thomas & Elise, Perth Australia.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Thanks Trish. We appreciate the kind review, and are glad you enjoyed yourselves. We really try to make our home comfortable and enjoyable, and are happy you agree. Best wishes, John and Shelley

Our son and daughter live in San Francisco and we wanted to spend Christmas together. This house was absolutely perfect! John and Shelley were wonderful hosts and always available when needed. The house had every amenity and more. The view from the bedroom was amazing, the location perfect and the beautiful plants in and around the house not to be missed! The next visit to our children we will be renting from them again. Thank you John and Shelly for your warm hospitality!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

My husband, son and I thoroughly enjoyed our weekend holiday getaway in this lovely home! The owners are great at responding to any questions or needs you have. Every amenity has been provided. This is a very eclectic home that was a warm and welcoming retreat on a cold and rainy weekend. Take my advice – run down to the local supermarket and cook in the well-equipped kitchen. We are so happy we did! If you do venture out to eat, the owners provide a comprehensive list of local eateries. We highly recommend Park Chow – great food and ambience! We are very familiar with San Francisco and were happy to experience a new neighborhood. Inner Sunset is lovely, quiet, and has great views! We hope to be back soon. Thank you for a great stay!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: We very much appreciate your kind review. While there are plenty of restaurants in San Francisco (over 4000 of them, by some counts) it's often most relaxing (and way cheaper) to cook at home and spend time with friends and family. As travelers ourselves, we very much appreciate having a nice kitchen with everything we need provided--so we have tried to do the same here. And we're glad you discovered the Inner Sunset neighborhood; it's truly one of our favorite areas of the City.

I stayed for a few nights in this house with my mom and we had so much fun! The owners were extremely hospitable and generous - I wanted to hang out with them as much as possible! They hand wrote directions to their favorite restaurants, which were the perfect balance of casual dining and really good food; they let us use their passes to the science museum, which my mom and I both loved (and their passes saved us from paying the $35/person fee to get in); they filled the fridge with good food and wine; and I haven't even mentioned how spectacular the actual house is! The furniture and decorations are spot on and the place feels comfortable and interesting. The kitchen literally has everything you could possibly need to cook and bake: a kitchen aid and a blender and a beautiful gas stove and spices and cookbooks and nice cutlery and pots and pans etc. Then there's the atrium with a nice array of succulents and other exotic plants. And the great windows that look to the west out to the Pacific. I could just go on and on. The house was spectacular and the owners, well I would feel honored to call them friends.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

This may well have been the best Vacation rental I've experienced. My partner and I stayed here for six nights, 10/10 til 10/16. It would be hard to think of one thing that the hosts overlooked. This is a very well maintained two bedroom home in the Inner Sunset neighborhood of San Francisco. There are two bedrooms, a full kitchen with every appliance and accoutrement you would ever need, bath with separate toilet and a large living room and dining room. there are plenty of towels and other linens. The beds are comfortable, large queen sized. There is plenty of closet space. There is also a small breakfast room, perfect for two, with live plants and in a covered atrium. The house is decorated stylishly and with a sense of fun. The books in the book cases are actually volumns that you would consider reading, lots of Wodehouse and Mark Twain. I reread Mapp and Lucia while i was there. The owners live downstairs and couldn't be less intrusive, but at the same time, always cheerfully available to answer questions or help out. Each bedroom has a large window that overlooks western San Francisco all the way to the ocean. It's a memorable view. The neighborhood itself is not one that many tourists get to so there is a feeling of experiencing real life in the city. There are many interesting shops, restaurants and businesses at Irving and 9th Avenue which is ashort tram ride away. There is an interesting Asian nieghborhood with many stores and shops quite close by and a Safeway supermarket that you could walk to but should probably use the car or take a bus for convenience. The only caveat some will have is the distance from the main tourist areas of the city. I wll try to be utterly honest in why this should not be a concern. It is a ten to fifteen minute walk from the house to the N Judah tram line which gets you to 9th and irving in about five minutes, to the Castro (Noe and Duboce or Church and Duboce) in about twenty minutes and downtown in under thirty minutes. The trams are frequent, comfortable and safe and run as late as we ever required. (the N Judah has niteowl service also). Additionally you can easily hop on a number 28 bus to the N Judah if you don't feel like walking. There are various MUNI travel deals you can use. Street parking is very easy and safe and usually within a few meters of the house. Considering the cost of even an ordinary hotel room inthis city, this place is an amazing bargain. I heartily recommend this rental!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Thank you very much for the detailed review. When we go traveling and use vacation rentals, the comments section fills in lots of important details for fellow travelers. So it is with your review. We understand that sitting down and writing a review when you just get home from a long trip is not high on anyone's list of things to do, so we much appreciate the effort.

We are fresh off our 4 night stay at this beautiful home that fully lived up to its description. Being former residents of San Francisco, we love coming back as often as possible as "tourists", and we felt right back at home here. John and Shelley are extremely gracious, friendly and accommodating hosts. The information binder is not only filled with helpful tips about the house, the neighborhood, places to go and things to do in the City and surrounding area, but it's a very entertaining read, as well. Although we cooked all our meals at home this time (which was a pleasure in the fully-equipped kitchen), we'll look forward to checking out some of the neighborhood's recommended restaurants next time we come. The house itself is a treat, with something beautiful and delightful in every room. Loving attention to detail is abundant, from the comfortable furnishings to the pretty, eclectic, smile-inducing whimsical decor, (I loved the old-fashioned phone). The beds are extremely comfortable...it's rare to get such a good night's sleep away from home, but our bed was like a plush nest. The views outside each bedroom window were gorgeous. We had everything we needed and beyond, with comfy linens, fluffy bathrobes, ample treats, even a great music and book collection. John and Shelley were always accessible to us during our stay, either by phone or in person, and have truly thought of everything a guest could need or want. They have made a beautiful home away from home for their guests. Penny the Dalmation is a sweetheart, too. We would heartily recommend this property to friends and relatives, and hope to return regularly ourselves. Besides the wonderful proximity to Golden Gate Park, a nearby highlight for us was Grand View Park and the colorful mosaic steps leading up to it. Just around the corner, this walk was a beautiful way to begin our last morning here. Seems impossible not to leave a bit of your heart in San Francisco with each visit, especially after discovering new corners of the City like this.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: We very much appreciate your taking the trouble to write such an extensive review. We love our area of the City for the beautiful parks and great cultural events it offers, and it is nice to see others enjoy it, too. We'll see you next year, when you return for the Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Festival in Golden Gate Park (a spectacular free music festival for those who don't know of it).

We stayed at the house for six nights and were delighted with the accommodation. It was a home from home. John and Shelley could not have been more helpful or accommodating both before and during our stay. The house was easy to find , in a nice quiet neighbourhood and yet not too far from down town or some very good local restaurants. We would definitely stay in this house again should we be fortunate enough to return to San Francisco..Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

This is a beautiful, typical, old San Francisco home in the Avenues (Inner Sunset) which has been remodeled and renovated. We loved it. It is clean, roomy, and safe. If it is available for our next trip, there would be no question that we would want to stay here again. We love the area near Irving Street, and being able to catch the "N" Judah, from which you can transfer to wherever you want to go. On Irving Street we ate at the Villa Romana (Italian food) and it was great.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Thank you for your comments. We certainly try to have everyone enjoy their stay as much as possible and we're glad you did. Like you, we love this neighborhood: quiet, safe, lots of parks, and easy access to other areas of the City. We also appreciate your review of Villa Romano (and for leaving some gift coupons for it!). We're going to leave a notebook in the house where guests can leave suggestions of places to go to eat and things to do. Kind of low-tech crowd-sourcing. We'll put your restaurant recommendation in the front to get things started!

My parents, two teenage brothers, myself, and my fiancé had a fantastic time during our stay here in early September. I was looking for an affordable option for our large group to stay in SF when I stumbled upon this house. And it could not have been more perfect. It was cheaper to rent this house in San Francisco than it would have been to get two hotel rooms, and way more awesome. The house is in a great, quiet neighborhood in SF with easy access to public transportation just a couple blocks down the hill from the house that can take you to all the cool tourist stuff as well as locations around the greater Bay Area on the BART train. Both bedroom windows look out over the Pacific Ocean, and the view is much more beautiful than the pictures on the website give it credit for. In the morning, we woke up and opened the windows to let the cool ocean breeze and morning light come in and then jumped back into the oh soooo comfortable beds to sleep for another hour. My dad, who can never sleep when he’s at a hotel, said it was the best sleep he had had in recent memory. One of the beds is even adjustable with a massage function, and boy did my brothers have fun with that. We also saved a ton of money by being able to cook our own food. As a family of 6, we would have spent AT LEAST $150 a day eating out at restaurants for every meal. Instead, my mom (yay Mom!) made us awesome food in the super well-equipped kitchen (seriously it has everything you could ever need, including the stuff my mom forgot to bring like oil, vinegar, and spices). You can also really just tell that John and his wife are genuinely good and caring people. I had been nervous about renting a vacation house online, as I had never done this before, but through my emails back and forth with John I just got a really good feeling about the whole thing. He always got back to me promptly and went out of his way to give me all the information I needed. Also, to my horror, my dad picked up a bunch of used car parts for my brother’s car (think fenders) on their way down to San Francisco and didn’t want to leave them in his truck unattended (don’t really know who would want to steal random car fenders, but hey whatever). John graciously accommodated this strange request and allowed him to store them in his garage. I would highly recommend this vacation rental to anyone,as I would much rather give my money to passionate people offering a great service, than to a cold, impersonal hotel.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Thank you for the extensive review. It gives others a good sense of what to expect during their stay. It was a real pleasure having you stay here. You arranged a good time for your family, with lots to do, and they clearly enjoyed it. That is always fun to see. I was kinda hoping your Dad would leave the car parts behind; looks like they would have fit our friends' Subaru, which needs some work. Maybe next time...

This property was everything we expected and more! Not only was the location great, but the house itself was very tastefully furnished as well as being extremely comfortable. Loved the little atrium garden too - a perfect spot for breakfast. And as for the kitchen - it had more features than my kitchen at home!! As far as getting in and out of the area, everything was close by. No more than a 20 min drive to anywhere. Thank you so much for the great place and our first VRBO experience a great one. We hope it will provide the same for your future renters!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with teenagers, families with young children, sightseeing.

John is the man! Not only is he the most helpful person, but he has taste! My group was pleasantly surprised with how ridiculously beautiful the house was as well as how well decorated every room was. All the appliances, books, and other decorations were modern and classic and just overall cool! The house is in the most perfect location in the sunset district. We really got the feeling of SF locals staying here. There was milk, cereal, snacks, gourmet tea and coffee, and everything we needed to feel at home. The view out of the bedroom is insane, even though it was cloudy out. We needed an ironing board and the next day there was one outside waiting for us. I could go on forever ranting about how much value there is staying here, but just call him and rap out for a bit and you will feel confident about your selection as was I. Really cool spot that you won't forget. From now on, every time I go to the city I will be checking availability here first (so don't stay here then! haha)Did you find this review helpful? We really enjoyed our stay for a week. The owners were wonderful people and very helpful. Parking was not a problem. The apartment was artfully furnished and great place to be a home for a week away from home. The owners live right below the rental place. During recent remodeling, the furnace was disconnected by the contractor. But the owner provided a portable heater which did a good job in adding the heat in the apartment on one colder night in San Francisco. I highly recommend this unit.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, tourists without a car, sightseeing.
Owner response: Thank you for taking the time to write a review, Narendra. We are glad you and your family had a good time visiting your previous home and neighborhood here in San Francisco. We figured out the furnace issue--a shorted thermostat--and it is up and running. It's convenient we live near enough to provide assistance when needed, and far enough to give guests the privacy they need to enjoy their stay in our beautiful city.

This was one of the most beautiful houses I have ever been to. John and Shelley not only have great style, the location of their home makes it all the better. We had no problem parking and the home had everything we needed. You can see the ocean from both bedrooms, there is a beautiful atrium in the middle of the apartment (I love plants), and the beds were top notch. (We spent the entire first night looking at all of the books in the apartment as well:) John and Shelley were lovely hosts and we thank them for their hospitality!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Thanks very much, Liza, for your comments. It was a pleasure having you and your family stay in our home. We are particularly pleased our home exceeded your expectations. Our goal is to have a good time hosting our guests, and for them to have a memorable stay. My husband and I, our daughter and son-in-law, and their boys ages 3 and 1 stayed in this lovely home for 3 nights. We enjoyed our stay so very much, John and Shelley go way above and beyond to make sure their guests have everything they need and then some! Awesome snacks, treats, staples for cooking, even brought us milk! We had plenty of room, the place is laid out so well, the atrium is very charming and brings the outside in. We did the Citypass and were able to easily use the included transit passes everywhere we wanted to go, just a few blocks walk at most to the stops. The place was even better than described, very clean, wonderful library. Within a mile or so are many wonderful restaurants we ordered take out from, two of our favorites were San Tung Chinese Restaurant and the Arizmendi Bakery, both were outstanding. Sitting in the living room, enjoying the fireplace on a foggy evening was a favorite for us. We also walked to Golden Gate Park fairly easily, few hills on the way home helped us work of some of the great food we enjoyed. We would highly recommend this home to any and all.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with young children, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: It is a real pleasure to know you had a good time here. We are proud of San Francisco, and love for others to appreciate it as well. And you guys certainly covered plenty of ground during your stay. Arizmendi is a fantastic local bakery--great cinnamon rolls, among other things. We have not eaten at San Tung restaurant--but we will now based on your recommendation. It is our duty to provide up to date restaurant recommendations for our guests, and we mean to do it, even if it involves forcing ourselves to eat lots of good food. Thank you for your kind words, and please give our regards to the rest of your family.

The photos don't do this place justice! So beautiful and different. Having lived in SF before, I was familiar with the usual apartment layout, but this home is like nothing I'd seen before. The furniture and decor, presumably picked up during the owner's travels, are all conversation pieces, yet completely comfortable and homey. John and Shelley are consummate hosts, so gracious and helpful, who went above and beyond and are so good at all the details. I think that impressed me the most -- the level of detail, not only in the kitchen supplies, but all over the house. You truly don't need to bring much! Parking was never an issue -- even for our giant rental Suburban -- and John was kind enough to contact me when I parked in a street sweeping zone. My family and I had a wonderful time and my local friends all want to stay there in the future! My first experience with VRBO; I'm now a convert, though I'm not sure how any place can top this. Can't wait to go back!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Thank you for taking the time and effort to write a review. We are glad your first VRBO experience was a good one. We have used VRBO for years, so when we set up our own home, we incorporated the best ideas we saw in the homes where we stayed. And we are glad you liked the decor. It is, to say the least, eclectic, but comfy. We like it, and always hope others do, too. Most of all, we are pleased you had a good time visiting friends and family on your too-short vacation. It was good to have you stay, and hope you come back soon to your former home in San Francisco. Remember, once a citizen of the Left Coast, always a citizen!

I am happy to give this property the very highest recommendation (belatedly)! It was very well described and shown to good effect in the listed photos. It's a beautiful home, very clean and well-maintained, with a fabulous, well equipped kitchen! They really have thought of everything to make your stay enjoyable and comfortable; coffee, tea, pots and pans if one feels like cooking, very good appliances that make cooking efficient and a pure pleasure. Mind you, there are lots of really good restaurants close by, so one doesn't need to cook...just nice to have the option. The furnishings are lovely, very well appointed, and fitting for the period of the home, giving you a sense of being transported back in time...but in a really good way. There is a central atrium that has lovely plants and flowers around a small cafe table and chairs...really charming! The master bedroom has a wonderfully comfortable bed; they have provided a very good mattress and the bedding is comparable to a four star plus hotel. Very restful environment, with little to no outside noises to interrupt your sleep. The bathroom has original fixtures and tile work that is in very good condition and provided a lovely hot shower in the morning; didn't try the bath, but assume it is cast iron and will offer a lovely soak. Gorgeous views from the back bedrooms...when the fog doesn't conceal the ocean; but that didn't detract from the charm and beauty of the home and neighborhood. The owners live in the downstairs portion of the home and are most helpful and available with any questions or concerns; they went above and beyond what was expected when I experienced some internet connectivity issues due to a new ISP. They are both charming and most welcoming, you will not be disappointed! I will definitely book this property again when I have occasion to visit the San Francisco area and highly recommend it to other travelers!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: It is very kind of you to take the time to write such an extensive review. It is helpful to others, and you bring up important aspects of your stay which we hadn't thought to mention. As for the bedding, it is true: Shelley went a little over the top with mattresses, mattress pads, high count cotton sheets, and comfy pillows. I finally had to stop her when she floated the concept of a "pillow bar" where one can choose from pillows for side-sleepers, back sleepers, front sleepers, and God-know-what-other-kind-of-sleepers. Fall is soon upon us, when the cool fog yields to warm, sunny days, which in turn create much better views of the Pacific Ocean from out back of the house. Previous freezing visitors who arrived expecting warm "summer" weather and found the fog instead begin to thaw out, and sales of fleecy jackets to unsuspecting tourists plummets. All in all, a nice season to come visit.

We stayed at John's place in Jun'12 for 3 nights and we felt at home. The house was clean and tidy. It has lot of art and decorations. John and Shelley were very kind and helpful. We didn't come prepared for the cold evening in San Francisco. But John helped us with a couple of jackets. Cereal and milk was ready in the kitchen when we arrived. Excellent ocean views from both bedrooms. The location is very convenient and close to all attractions like Golden gate bridge, park, etc. We would definitely stay here for our next visit.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Thank you, Sudesh. It was a pleasure having you and your lovely family stay here, and we are glad you had a good time with your friends. We figure a large portion of the economy in San Francisco is based on selling fleecy coats to unsuspecting visitors, so for folks coming to San Francisco: bring layers of clothing, especially a windbreaker! It can be beautiful and sunny one day, foggy and windy the next.

We stayed at the property for four nights and it was excellent. The place was as described, spacious and clean and a great neighborhood. The owners live downstairs and were very helpful answering questions before and during our stay. The home made us feel like home with many little details we didn't expect, such as coffee and teas, kitchen and bathroom supplies. Coming home at night was enjoyable as the place felt truly like home. The neighborhood is quiet and nice and most days, we could see the ocean from our windows. Parking was no issue on the street, but it was good having a car as restaurants and some shopping is more than walking distance away. But the restaurants were great and we actually went to a different one each night. We also took the car to the next metro station as the area is hilly and we didn't want to walk uphill after a full day exploring SF. But the connections are easy and run often. We didn't find too many attractions around the house, but there is a great outlook, the tile staircase we enjoyed. We would definitely consider coming back to this place in the future and just hope it is not totally booked by then when everybody found out what a deal it is. Thanks to the hosts, we had a great time. (John, Dad survived and is bragging about the vacation, even Lombard Street!)Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers.
Owner response: Glad to hear your Dad is still alive, despite what you put him through. Now he has plenty of tourist war stories to tell the folks back home. And thank you for your kind review. It is very helpful for others to know what to plan for. It was a real pleasure having you and your family stay here. Please come again, and regards to your Dad and sister.

What a treat to stay at this home in Inner Sunset. Quiet and elegant, the most comfortable beds and the view from BR fantastic; ocean, moon set and stars...just beautiful. The apartment has everything you need and more to make your stay in SF comfortable and carefree. Our host was ready to help us enjoy our stay in the city by the bay. Cookies, chocolate, teas and super coffee is a plus. Easy access to the SF public transport system..just a few blocks to walk to Judah Train. Trendy and delicious restaurants 10 minute walk. Walk to my favorite Golden Gate Park easy. This home is spacious and beautiful and location location location :)Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, sightseeing.
Owner response: We very much appreciate your gracious review. Makes the place sound so nice we're thinking of renting it ourselves! Seriously, though, it is very gratifying to know that you appreciate the home and neighborhood we love so much. This is a great area of the City, and Golden Gate Park is truly exceptional. Regards, Shelley and John

This delightful home is in an excellent location with amazing ocean view from the bedrooms. Beds were very comfortable and the house was spotless. Everything you need in the kitchen and an awesome sunroom in the middle of the house to sit in the morning sun and enjoy a coffee and some fresh fruit. Full bath was a nice touch after a long day trying to see all the many sights in San Fran. Napa was only a short distance away. We took the Golden Gate Bridge to the Redwoods which are less the 25 miles from the house. We spent nearly every night sitting by the fireplace enjoying some California wine. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook some nice meals (Safeway only minutes away) and a huge dining room to enjoy it in. The owners are the friendliest, kindest people and are excellent representatives of the community. There is an amazing walk way within 1 block of the home that leads to the top of a hill overlooking the city. We watched the 75 Birthday celebration fireworks of the Golden Gate Bridge right from the hill top. The beach was only minutes away and we found a huge collection of Sand Dollars and watched the surfers riding the waves. I had never been to San Fran before and would go back in a second....afraid if I brag this place up too much I won't ever get to book it again. It was awesome and you will not be disappointed.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Thanks so much for your kind words. One of the most gratifying things about running a vacation rental is the opportunity to meet nice folks who appreciate all San Francisco has to offer. It was a pleasure and a privilege having you stay here, and we promise: we'll keep a place for you in the future! Best wishes, Shelley and John
