Lake Rabun cabin description
'Laurel Cabin' is located on the beautiful deep waters of Lake Rabun. It offers the perfect vacation for those who enjoy lake and mountain activity, or just the pleasure of relaxing in a beautiful setting. The cabin is located about a mile from Hall’s Boat House by road, and less by lake. The Lake Rabun Pavilion is about a mile and a half by road, and closer by lake. The cabin has three bedrooms (all have a lake view) that accommodate 9 in beds. Using the 3 beds on the sleeping porch in warmer months offers total accommodations for 12 visitors. The master bedroom has a king bed, a second bedroom has two queen beds, and the third has one queen bed and one twin bed. There are 2 ½ baths (2 tubs w/showers), and a fully equipped kitchen and laundry room that use treated, deep-well water.
With 2 decks, a patio and a large screened porch, the temptation to enjoy the views competes with the pull of the lake! Down the stone steps to a double-deck boathouse and dock lie the opportunities to swim, fish, boat, ski, tube or relax. Whether being a part of the lake activity or just watching it, the boathouse and dock offer a perfect landing. You can bring a boat along with you, or local boat rentals are possible. A launching ramp is less than a mile away, and there is room to park your boat trailer at the cabin.

This cabin was absolutely fabulous. I would highly recommend choosing this property for any length of time. My friends & I rented the cabin in the fall and will definitely be returning during the summer to take advantage of the lake!

About the owner: Laurel Cabin is owned by a multi-generational family that has been enjoying Lake Rabun since the 1960s.
Why the Owner Chose Lake Rabun:
This area has been a family vacation destination for decades. It is only an hour and a half drive from Atlanta, yet feels like a world away.
The Unique Benefits at this Cabin:
Lake Rabun and Laurel Cabin offer many opportunities to be 'lost in the moment,' nestled in comfort, and surrounded by beauty. Being at Lake Rabun is in many ways like stepping back in time, especially on the Fourth of July when the wooden boat parade passes by the dock. Life seems to slow down here, 'lake time' takes over, and watches are unnecessary. The lake is surrounded by historic homes, with well-established hydrangeas and rhododendrons spilling over rock walls. A regular event in the summer is Sunday morning 'Boat Church,' where families gather by boat in a worship service led by a local minister and staff from a pontoon boat. The comfortable boathouse provides a morning to night gathering place for sunning, swimming, fishing, eating, reading and even sleeping! The screened porch at the cabin is also a full-service haven, where mornings can be spent sipping coffee in the rocking chairs, while evenings might include candle-lit dinners around a table set for the whole family. Even on a rainy day, the porch is a delight! The interior of the cabin is simple, yet comfortable, uncluttered and clean. Particularly delightful are the tile tubs and showers with plenty of hot water and great water pressure. A typical day might include a trip to Osage Market just north of Clayton for fresh fruits and vegetables in the morning, followed by a picnic lunch on the dock, afternoon swimming, and a return to the cabin for cocktails on the deck while dinner is on the grill! Alternatively, a trip by water or road to two great restaurants is only minutes away. Nothing beats the view from the cabin or the boathouse when the sky is clear and full of stars. At bedtime, sleep is easy in the quiet of the secluded location, until the day begins again come morning. This is vacationing at its best!
