Wow, what a beautiful, quiet place! Perfect location for some real down time, but close enough to enjoy so many different activities. The house is clean, spacious and comfortable. We loved the front and back porches, the pool and the dogs. Larry and Joyce went out of their way to make us feel at home and Tamra had everything ready just as described. Lots of local restaurants and excellent food just minutes away. This has been our favorite stay in Texas and we will definitely plan another trip to Mountain Breeze. Our one week included shopping, dining and enjoying music in Gruene, real Tex Mex in New Bruanfels, a day boating on Canyon Lake which was fabulous, shopping at Cavenders and the Outlet Mall at exit 200 and a great day at the River Walk and the Alamo in San Antonio. Thank you for a great trip!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, romantic getaway, sightseeing, adventure seekers.

Great value for what you get. The donkey is a treasure and loves bananas and carrots. This was an absolute hit with the kids. The cottage has a lot of space and was perfect for what we needed, ( family of 5). There is no maid service but there is a washer and drier which made it nice. We were able to float the river, tubed on the lake all day, went to Gruene for dinner one night. It is a location that makes everything easy to get to. Would absolutely stay here again. Owner is on premise but not obtrusive. Like having a neighbor around. Awesome find!Recommended for: Families with young children, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+, adventure seekers, girls getaway.

Booked Mountain Breeze for a family weekend with my wife my 16 yr old and 20yr old daughters and a special teenage young lady guest from Northern Ireland. Booking process was easy and Tamara the agent is from Canyon Lake very knowledgeable of the area and the property which is helpful. Mountain Breeze is a perfect location for doing, viewing or snoozing. It is about 5 minutes to tube the river. (Hint for families with younger children Saturday afternoon on the river is a bit of a rowdy crowd to avoid that go early (rowdy folks sleep late) or on Sunday Morning), Canyon Lake is about 5 minutes away as well with reasonable hourly boat and jet ski rentals. We really did not have an agenda for the weekend other than tubing and shopping so the location allowed us the flexibility we needed. Mountain Breeze although close enough to activities is far enough to be both peaceful and relaxing. There was absolutely NO road noise. At night it is completely dark and great for star gazing. You can see the Milkyway. We did not use the pool however chose Mountain Breeze so we would have that option. Met the owner coincidently named Larry and he was a very down to earth person who was the right combination of helpful without being intrusive. It was more like having a neighbor than being on his property. The Cabin was tastefully decorated and appeared to be new. Also Poncho and the 2 well behaved onsite dogs add a little extra character and charm. Priced appropriately and Great value for anyone wanting to experience the Hill Country.! Thanks Also Larry recomended a place called Granny D's to eat. Looks are deceiving on this one the food is amazing and you will feel more like you belong there rather than a tourist.Recommended for: Families with young children, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+, adventure seekers, girls getaway.

We had four couples staying here for a weekend and it was perfect for us. The owners are very nice and even left some grilling/cooking supplies for us while we were gone one day. We loved the pool and washer pit and how quiet and relaxing the property was. Pancho and the dogs were also very friendly! We would definately return for another stay in the future.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+, girls getaway.

I was looking for a property convenient to the Horseshoe on the Guadalupe River (near Canyon Lake) and picked this one solely for its location. We got much more than location! This is truly an exceptional property that has been recently renovated / freshened up. It is remote, but not too remote; spacious, clean and the beds are amazingly comfortable. The owners live on property and were very accommodating. Additionally the property manager was nice, helpful and available. Our 11-year old grandson absolutely loved this "luxurious" cabin, the access to the outdoors, Pancho the donkey and the owners' friendly dogs. I will list this among my top 2 best VRBO finds of all time.Recommended for: Families with young children, sightseeing, age 55+, adventure seekers.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stayed. The cabin itself could not have been nicer. The upstairs loft was very spacious with a huge closet. Washer and dryer came in very handy. The area is very peaceful and a great place to relax and get away. close to canyon lake if you want but we were only there 2 days so we just enjoyed the cabin itself. owners were very hospitable. My kids enjoyed exploring the property and skipping rocks in the ponds. We also enjoyed roasting Hot dogs and Marshmallows I will admit for my kids one of the highlights was Pancho the donkey. He was very friendly and the kids loved feeding him carrots. The owners dogs were also very friendly. They offered several times to keep them in and away from us but my kids were enjoying them too much. We would definitely come back again.Recommended for: Families with young children, pet owners, age 55+.

About the owner: Hi, I'm Larry, and Joyce and I were high school sweethearts (I finally convinced her I was the one). We've been married for nearly 47 years (we're both hard-headed) so I guess the marriage will last. We live on the property with Buck and Dora (they are pretty good dogs) and we love the Texas Hill Country. Come get to know us. You are welcome.
Why the Owner Chose Canyon Lake:
When we found this property, we were very frustrated. We loved it...large scattered oaks on 22 acres, less than 30 minutes from Gruene, New Braunfels, Comfort, Blanco and Wimberley...the best of the Texas Hill County with deer and turkey and fantastic sunrises and breathtaking sunsets. Sometimes the creek even ran crystal clear water. But we knew we couldn't afford it. We scraped together every penny we could, and made our best offer. It was just barely enough!
The Unique Benefits at this Cabin:
There are several things we love about our property. First of all,we are smack dab in the middle of the best part of Texas. San Antonio and the Alamo and the River Walk are less than 50 minutes away! Austin and the state's awesome Museum of Natural History, and Austin City Limits, and Sixth Street and 'Keep Austin Weird' are just 45 minutes north. Wimberley is only 20 or so miles from us. Gruene Hall, the oldest dancehall in Texas, and the shops of Gruene are 15 minutes away, Schlitterbahn is 20 minutes away. Floating the Guadalupe and Whitewater are one mile down the mountain! So, it's easy to see that we have a very unique location. We are in the right place at the right time.
Another thing we love is the gulf breeze that comes in late every afternoon to cool things off. Our road is aptly named...Mountain Breeze.
I think most important though, is that we can relax. it's really quiet and peaceful here. An old resident of the area said it best, 'The nights are shorter here.' There are no sirens or car alarms or trains. It's quiet. We are not isolated, but whether you are floating in the pool or napping under one of the oak trees out in the pasture, you can enjoy the beauty and peace of the Texas Hill Country. Come join us and relax...come enjoy the Mountain Breeze.
