COUPLES RETREAT! HONEYMOON GETAWAY! FAMILY VACATION!
If you and your family or friends are looking for a weekend getaway or a week long escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, this is the place to come.
We dare you not to say 'WOW' when you first enter your log home away from home!
Catch sunrise to the east with coffee on the covered back deck. Catch sunset over the Blue Ridge Mountains to the west with a glass of wine on the covered front porch. On a clear night take a walk and see stars like you've never seen before. Most of all, let your hair down, take a deep breath and then relax in a quiet, natural setting in the foothills of the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains.
Your log home away from home features 3 levels, perfect for a several-couples retreat:
The main level features a full professional kitchen (see the note below about 'Chef du Jour'), dining nook, sitting area with fireplace and the master suite with queen bed, full bath, walk in closet and satellite TV.
A spiral staircase provides access to both the loft and the finished basement that opens to the fenced in back yard.
The loft features a bedroom with a full bed and satellite TV. Full bathroom. A sitting area with books and games. The view is pretty good too.
The finished basement features a bedroom with full bed, full bathroom, bar/kitchenette area with sink and cook top. The main TV viewing room is located here with 50' HD satellite TV, surround sound and stereo system. Exit the basement to the lower screened in porch with gas grill and access to the fenced in back yard.
3 bedrooms, 1 on each level, accomodate private sleeping for 6. Couches and recliners on all three levels can accomodate a total of 5 additional guests (children perhaps).
Located within the gated community of Ole Plantation between Greenhill and Lake Lure, NC your log home away from home has access to the activities that the beautiful Western North Carolina mountains have to offer.
Try tubing or fly fishing on the Broad River. How about a zip line adventure? Shop the villages of Chimney Rock, Black Mountain, Bat Cave, Rutherfordton and Forest City. Play in the water park of Lake Lure, take a narrated boat tour of Lake Lure and see where parts of 'Dirty Dancing' were filmed or simply walk the trails along the shoreline of Lake Lure with your 4-legged friends. Head on up to Chimney Rock State Park for some spectacular views and see where parts of 'The Last of the Mohicans' were filmed. If golf is your pleasure there are 3 courses within 15 minutes drive.
Don't forget the historic Biltmore Estate in Asheville, NC. If you have not seen this amazing home it is well worth the 60 minute drive. It's an all day adventure to see it all so go early!
Autumn in the Blue Ridge Mountains is alive with color. Plan some time on the Blue Ridge Parkway for some of the best views you can imagine.
Is this your honeymoon? Is it your anniversary? Perhaps you and your best friends are away for a long overdue reunion. Would you like a special meal prepared on site by a professional chef? Talk to us about Chef du Jour:

Beautiful log cabin - very well equiped. Great mountain Views! Had a great stay with my sisters. They were trapped for a few extra days due to the storm up North, so we stayed longer than originally planned. Very accomodating for the extra days. Would stay again if I had not just bought my own cabin!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+, adventure seekers, pet owners, girls getaway.

If you want to experience Nature at it's best, this cabin is the place to stay. Each morning take a walk on the beautiful landscape roads and listen to the birds sing, see the deer running and enjoy the fantastic scenery. Our two dogs could also run without a leash and they so enjoyed it. We also loved the cabin and all of its fantastic amenities. Thank you so much for sharing your cabin with us during our week and a half stay.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+, adventure seekers, pet owners.

About the owner: Empty nesters, except for our four legged kids! We found ourselves off to care for Mom, who at 92 needs a hand. Rather than sell our beautiful home which we expect to return to some day, we have decided to share our little slice of heaven with others.
Why the Owner Chose Lake Lure:
The incredible view and peaceful surroundings were the selling point for us. The wildlife, including deer, turkey, birds, and butterflies make this a wonderful retreat.
The Unique Benefits at this Cabin:
Breathtaking sunrises and sunsets, biking, hiking, and tranquility.
