    Thanks so much to Ed for the use of his wonderful home for a week. We had such as fantastic time and everything was just as we expected it would be from the pictures and calls with him prior to our arrival. We especially like having the guest house separate from the main house as one of the families had a newborn that they were quite sensitive about having make noise for the rest of us (we appreciated that, too). The location of the home was so conducive to exploring the entire Santa Cruz area, either by foot or very short drives. We look forward to coming again in the near future and staying at Magical Oasis again.

    Our whole family and even our beloved dogs stayed a week at magical oasis. We all agree, we will never forget the wonderful experience. This is a special place, not a party house. Everything we needed for a perfect family vacation was there. A warm and cozy home with charming furnishings, fantastic picture window to sit and watch the world go by against the sparkling ocean backdrop. A fireplace to relax at the end of a fun filled day, and even a jacuzzi to share drinks and laughs in. Quiet, and close to every good thing. We rarely even got in our car, rode bikes all the way to capitola and all points in between. Kellys French bakery is a nice little walk and a must. And a new discovery this trip,Cafe Gratitude! If you are lucky to be in Santa Cruz during they're season, Santa Cruz Derby Girls is a blast! So if you appreciate the comforts of a well loved home, no better place. We intend to come back every year. Thank you Ed for everything!

    This home was perfect for our three-generation family get-away. It is beautifully decorated with lovely finishing touches like fresh flowers at arrival. Well-equipped kitchen made meal preparation easy. The living room was a comfortable spot for the whole family to gather to watch movies, play games, read books, admire the view and just hang out together while watching the world go by on the path along the cliff.

    We had a wonderful time, lots of beach and play We rode bikes in the forest every day Thank you so much for sharing your home, We would love to return next time we roam. The view is spectacular, the dog beach so fun We had amazing weather, loved playing in the sun So until next time we bid farewell But we'll be back soon to ride the next swell.

    WOW! What a wonderful stay- The view are REMARKABLE- The fabulous detail work in the house makes it so HOMEY! The little cottage in the back is so peaceful too!! I would recommend this for our friends, family, and it was truly move-in ready!

    Great location! You have a beautiful view from the living room , as well as, the front porch. It is within walking distance to a dog friendly off leash beach, the boardwalk, and the wharf. You can hear the ocean waves, and the sea lions. It's a great spot to watch the world go by, or sit and relax. The home is very clean, and dog friendly. The ownerss are very nice people, and easy to work with. I would recommend this home to anyone. It's great for all ages.

    Dear Ed and Karen, Thank you so much for letting us live in your lovely house this week. Your home is in on of the loveliest places on earth and your home is decorated so beautifully, its the icing on the cake. I would love to talk to your decorator! We have been truly blessed staying here and we especially appreciated the little touches like the books and the lovely flower arrangements which add so much! The gardens are gorgeous also.     We had a lovely week at your Magical Oasis. The view was divine, and the house so very comfortable. My husband in particular was thrilled with the kitchen; the girls would not stay out of the hot tub. In short, we wanted for nothing and had a blast. Many thanks!

    Thank you for opening up your home to my family. My boys and I had a fantastic time. The view is incredible. The yard really is magical and we had everything we needed. Watching the fireworks light up the night on the 4th of July through the living room window was spectacular. Thanks again for facilitating an excellent week. We hope to return in the future.

    This was my first trip with my 3 boys after finalizing a divorce earlier in the year. We could not have asked for a better situation. The home was perfectly situated within walking distance to beaches, the Boardwalk, trails, and plenty of activity. The views from the windows & porch were tremendous. We enjoyed watching 4th of July fireworks light up the boardwalk all evening. The house & grounds were immaculate. Everything we needed was available. I'd recommend staying here, and I hope to return in the future.

    Magical Oasis is new to VRBO but has been a vacation rental home for over ten years. The owner, Ed Nino, enjoys his vacation home with his extended family. He takes pride in home ownership as well as running a professional vacation home rental. Ed aims to provide the best experience for his discerning guests. He has engaged the help of designer Karen Toole to assist with many up grades including antiques, original paintings, recessed lighting, kitchen tools, plush beach towels and new linens. Many of Ed's guest return at the same time each year and refer to it as their vacation home. We hope you'll come enjoy the views, all that Santa Cruz has to offer and that you'll want to come back, too.

    We were here celebrating our sons graduation from UCSC- an event that has been in the planning for years.We could not have asked for a more perfect setting. We had parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles, many of which had not been to Santa Cruz. Your home is spectacular and we so appreciate that you were willing to share! We had so much fun just people watching- the dog walkers, the runners, the bikers... It was wonderful to be able to walk to the pier (wharf), the beach, ice-cream, coffee, etc. Your home is beautifully appointed and was the perfect place to have our celebration.

    We had a fabulous vacation! The weather was perfect, our accommodations truly special, and the view for breakfast.. just out of this world! Days on the beach, hanging at the Boardwalk, way too much food and wine, Scattergories, Spoons, and Uno with the kids at night. Too much fun. Thank you, we hope to come back again soon!

    We had an extended family vacation at the Magical Oasis and the property couldn't be more perfect. The views are mesmerizing and the location is perfect - walking distance to the wharf and the lighthouse (even for elderly parents). The pictures of the property can't adequately represent its beauty. The living, dining and kitchen areas are large and well appointed. There is plenty of space for everyone. The back studio allowed some extra privacy. Every detail was seen to - up to and including having someone put the trash cans at the curb! We were celebrating a college graduation, and this trip was something that we had been planning for years. This home helped make this a vacation of our dreams. We had everyone from a 2 year old to an 80 yr old, and this home worked for us all. This home is highly recommended!

    Once again!!! An "Amazing" time at our favorite place in Santa Cruz. Not a better place to spend "Mother's Day" with my family. Love your "new" additions to the house: floors, washer, dryer, curtains, pillows, nice art work etc. We look forward to coming back soon. with love

    Someone turned 60 and we knew we couldn't find a better place to celebrate it. You not only provided my mom, best friend, a great place to celebrate her birthday, this house has also given me many many favorite memories and good times. I celebrated my UCSC graduation here, I rode my first wave here, and I even had my first kiss with the man I love here. Your house is as beautiful as your spirit Ed. Thank you! Can't wait to come back.

    We enjoyed this visit even more than our visit last year because we could look forward to what we knew would be a wonderful stay. This visit also had the special addition of our Mom's Birthday. Our annual get-together was all due to her. She enjoyed getting to move from the picture "parade" window to the dinning room. Our dogs had a heyday at the dog beach running from one end to another. This year the waves and the sun were even better than last year. Thank you for sharing this truly "magical Oasis" with us. We look forward to our next stay.

    My wife and I stayed in The Magical Oasis for four nights. This is a very special place to stay and I would highly recommend doing so. I have stayed at other rental properties before and this one is definitely special. It was clean and there are many thoughtful touches. The house has a nice fireplace, which is great for those cooler nights. We very much enjoyed sitting in the chairs near the ocean facing windows sipping wine. At night we were able to see all the lights from the moon and the boardwalk glisten on the water. And the day time view is equally as special. We lingered over coffee watching the sunrise, early morning surfers, and sail boats on the bay. I would highly recommend giving this place a shot. It is very reasonably priced considering the location and the accommodations. The owner is very communicative and honest. Don’t miss out on this one! We had a great time!

    The house was fantastic! It stood up to every expectation and then some. amazing view of the Santa Cruz Bay, brisk walk to a great water front dog park and butterfly sanctuary and just the right amount of space for the whole family!
