Apartment is in Catalina foothills neighborhood in north Tucson and is about 1200 square feet. Private entrance. There is an arroyo behind the property so there is open space and privacy. We see a lot of birds, including hummingbirds, hawks, owls, quail, doves. We wake up in the morning to the sound of doves. Yard has mesquite trees and other plantings. Look across open space to saguaros and other desert plants. Catalina mountains lie to the north, city lights of Tucson to the south.
Kitchen area is small but complete, includes fridge, 4-burner stove and oven, microwave, toaster oven, coffee maker. There is a full bath. Washer and dryer. We provide bed linens and towels, kitchen utensils, dishes, cookware. Heating and cooling system has easily controlled thermostat. Cable tv and internet are available. Bedroom has queen-size bed, comfortable reclining chair. Living and dining area are one large room. Apartment is on one level. Yard has table & chairs, charcoal barbecue.
Lots of nearby hiking in Sabino Canyon, Ventana Canyon, Pima Canyon. Mount Lemmon in the Catalina Mountains is about an hour's drive to pine covered landscape if you want a change from the desert surroundings. Tucson is a popular area for bicycling. Golf is available nearby, as well as restaurants and grocery shopping. Art galleries and La Encantada shopping center are a couple of miles west on Sunrise Drive/Ina Road. Medical facilities are close; Tucson Medical Center hospital is south on Craycroft Road, and there is an urgent care center nearby to the west.
A dog would be fine, depending on your and our specific requirements. Sorry, no cats. 2 week minimum stay.

Lovely place to stay! Judy and Carl are wonderful to get to know. They made me feel very welcome and were an excellent source for local points of interest. The place is very clean and has a great deal of storage space. The outdoor views are spectacular from dawn to dusk. If you enjoy hiking there is a map of the neighborhood; but it is also very convenient to hiking trails. I wish I could have stayed longer!Did you find this review helpful? We stayed the month of February and enjoyed the little apartment very much. It was clean and well furnished. Carl and Judy were very accommodating and made sure we had everthing we needed. The apartment is in the lower level of their house, so you have access to the back of the house which over looks the wash. and is fairly private. The kitchen is smalll but well equipped, it had everything we needed. We loved their big dog Jack.Recommended for: Adventure seekers.
