North Muskegon house description
My late parents bought this house next door to their Lake Michigan home in the 1970s for use by family and friends. This house was totally re-modeled and re-furnished to a high and comfortable level in 2011. Beautiful, new stairs to the beach (with seating areas with panoramic lake views) added in October, 2013. Now, the beach is accessible even for renters with some mobility concerns.
The house is situated on a sand dune bluff far back from the road (Scenic Drive) on a multi-acre wooded lot. The view of Lake Michigan is spectacular in all seasons. (Except for the offshore view, the accompanying pictures are from late October 2011.) Sunsets are particularly stunning. When the State of Michigan adopted a license plate with a setting sun years ago, they had this property's view in mind. See our reviews: this spot is a Lake Michigan gem.
The beach is wide, sandy and secluded, visited only by occasional campers from the nearby State Park. The surf is usually low, making the beach usable for windsurfing or a small catamaran or sailboat which could be safely left on the beach (but you would have to launch at the State Park or Duck Lake beach because the sand dune face is steep and off-limits to protect it from erosion.) Access to the beach is by the new private stairs shared only with my family's adjoining home. By location, view and amenities, this house is a stand-out from other local rentals.
The interior is completely new and 2011 modern. Although lake breezes are virtually constant, the house has ceiling fans in every room to assure comfort.
It is a traffic-free drive of about 4 miles to ample shopping, including 'big box' stores, in North Muskegon but the best lunch is famous 'Ruth Ann's' ice cream and sandwiches about 3 minutes walk down Scenic Drive.
Keywords: Totally re-modeled in 2011 with high quality flooring, appliances and fixtures. This is a beach house with all of the amenities of home. Internet access (cable modem) & 'Extended Network' Verizon cell service.

About the owner: I live in Southern California (until I retire) and manage the property for our family. My brother, Pete, and his lovely wife, Cincy, are the local managers who meet vacation renters and assure that the house is spotless -- the way we would want it when we use it as family. We have had roots in North Muskegon since 1964 and welcome the opportunity to share our beautiful and relaxing area with visitors.
Why the Owner Chose North Muskegon:
My parents owned the house next door and, when this house came on the market, they bought it to assure that we would always have the combined large and beautiful beach with one of the best views of Lake Michigan.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
We use the home next door (my late parents' home) as a vacation spot. It is not rented at present. Renters at our second home have access to our combined beach which is large, secluded and sandy. Being back from the road (Scenic Drive), children and pets are essentially free to roam.
