Melody's Place is actually two homes in one. Main house is three stories with the master bedroom on the top floor. Second floor is the kitchen and dining sitting area. The ground floor is the guest bedroom, fireplace sitting nook and pool table lounging area. Each bedroom has its own bathroom and all three floors have decks facing the lake and the views. The boat dock with its own decking over the water with the amazing views of Mt. Talac.
A separate ' Guest House' consisting of a bedroom with a queen bed, large bath with walk in shower. The large living room and lounging area are open with flat screen tv, a great bar and eating area. This area also includes a queen futon. The guest house leads out to another deck that connects to the main home that you can sit in the lounging area and BBQ. Simply a unique custom home, and nothing like it in Tahoe.

This house has it all if you're looking for a vacation rental in Tahoe. The house is extremely well appointed and cared for. Beautiful decks on every level with incredible views of Mt Tallac. The pictures are nice, but it's even better in person. The manager was very accomodating and organized, and a pleasure to deal with. We hope to stay here again when we return to Tahoe. I would note that the house is definitely not set up for small children. We brought a 1 year old and had to do some re-arranging to keep breakables away and block access to a couple of the banisters overlooking the floor/stairs below. Enjoy your stay!!!!!!!Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

As the other reviews have stated, this is a recently updated house. All of the decor has a nautical theme and is quite nice. We had six adults and one two-year old. Although the ad does not recommends kids, ours did ok with much coaching. The reason is the main house is three stories. That means lots of stairs. Furthermore, the second floor has railings looking down to the bottom floor. The railings are large enough for a small child to get through and fall. We blocked all those with luggage and chairs. We also went to the nearby K-Mart and bought two hallway fences to block stair access. To be fair, Kathy at Tahoe Destinations warned us about it so we were prepared. In case you can't tell from the pix, the lower level is pool table and very tiny guest room. The second floor is living rm and kitchen. Top floor is master suite. Each floor has external deck looking at Mt Talmac. You cannot see Lake Tahoe from the house. The separate living house was perfect for me in-laws (and us! lol). The nearby Raley's made it very easy to get food to cook. Enjoy watching the boats go by all day, as well as ducks, geese, and sparrows. Wireless worked great. The screen doors don't lock but there are bars in the door tracks to use so they must know. The Keys are close to Pope Beach, Fallen Leaf Lake, and a short drive from Stateline. Bottom line, we loved our visit to this house. And Kathy at Tahoe Destinations was super friendly and helpful with answer, advice, and information.Recommended for: Sightseeing, romantic getaway, families with teenagers.

We shared a wonderful weekend at Melody's Place, a home that definitely doesn't have the feel of a rental property. The furnishings are classy, with the little touches that make it extremely comfortable and inviting. The recently remodeled kitchen is fully equipped with new stainless appliances, a gas range and all the accessories that serious cooks will appreciate. There's also a gas grill for those who want to barbeque. The house has three decks facing the water and Mt. Tallac -- one attached to the master bedroom, one connected to the living area and a lower deck off the sitting area downstairs. So the views are expansive and breathtaking. For those inclined to be on the water, there's a kayak and a canoe -- as well as a new dock that will accommodate boats over 40'. For guests who want to stay 'connected,' there are flat screen televisions in the living room and master bedroom -- as well as high speed wireless internet throughout the home. The location in Tahoe Keys is excellent. There are a number of excellent restaurants nearby that will appeal to every ethnic taste. We like Artemis for Greek Food and Keys Café for Breakfast or Lunch. There’s also a great local meat market (Overland Meats) that offers fresh and healthy meats, poultry and fish.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0
