The Oceanfront privacy at the prestigious North End of Virginia Beach is simply the Best at the Beach. The expansive unobstructed views of the Ocean from the 3rd floor living room and full length balcony are just spectacular. And the stars at night away from the downtown glow? Stunning and crystal clear. This is one of the very few properties which has an ocean view for miles of the beach, North and South. A chairlift helps guests as needed to each floor, an amenity not found in any other oceanfront house to my knowledge. The Kids can stay in their bunk beds with private bath on the 1st floor, while Mom, Dad and the rest choose between the (i) Oceanfront Master Bedroom Queen bed with full bath, (ii) Oceanfront Guestroom with Queen bed, (iii) North Guestroom with Queen bed or (iv) West Guestroom with 2 double beds, all served by well appointed full bath, together with hallway sink and mirror outside of the full bath, just to freshen up. Park as many as you please on the concrete driveway, big enough for your boat trailer (or two) and all your friends. After the beach, use the outdoor shower to rinse off salt and sand as you fire up the grill. Cook and bake to your heart's content in the wall ovens or use the new in 2013 ceramic stove-top range. Warming lights above shelves at the range keep foods ready for the table. Keep things cool in the new 2013 Onyx black double door side by side refrigerator/freezer with through the door water and ice dispenser. This is a great house, and you deserve to stay here. We rent for 7 day minimums from Saturday to Saturday during the season and 3 day minimums during the off season. If you have a question, just ask! We had a wonderful time at the beach to celebrate my wife's birthday. Her sister and cousin and my parents and sister came over from Europe and we truly enjoyed the up-side-down house with an amazing view to the beach from the upstairs lofty living room and great spacious bedrooms. ArjanRecommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children.

Amazing...5 adults and four children ranging in age from 5 yrs to 15 yrs, house layout perfect for all. House was clean upon arrival and has great character with lots of natural light. Location is quiet, yet close to everything, restaurants, grocery, boardwalk. Easy walk down to beach, and do not forget the amazing views. We walked to the Cape Henry lighthouse just a mile down the road. As for the owner, wonderful to work with from planning our trip to his immediate personal attention to the microwave that needed to be replaced during our stay. Huge benefit that he lives locally and manages the property himself, he replaced the microwave the same afternoon we called. Will look no further for our next trip to Virginia Beach!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children.

For my Mom's 70th birthday, my parents and my sister and her family stayed at the house. We wanted something oceanfront and comfortable and this was perfect. My wife and I live in Virginia Beach in the South End and we wanted to get an oceanfront place for them to stay. of all the oceanfront properties I checked out, this was by far the coziest. The oceanfront views, the fireplace, the whole set up is great. My only hesitation in recommending this place so highly is it might make my next stay more difficult to schedule. Take it from a local, stay here.Recommended for: Sightseeing, people with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

This house was great for a large extended family. Great close access to the beach, breath taking views and plenty of space for a big fammily with lots of kids. Layout also worked with kids - basement bedroom is great for the littlest nappers and large open upper common room had plenty of room for the little ones to run around even on a cold February day!!! Thanks for making the party perfect!Recommended for: Families with young children.

My family and I absolutely loved this house with some much charm and character. It served our purposes well and watching the dolphins play and feed in the surf daily was fantastic. We got lucky with perfect weather all week! A great late summer rental and overall experience. The north end of Va Beach is gorgeous. The beach is wide and perfect for swimming and there were dolphins swimming and jumping in the ocean every day we were there. The house has great views and a great layout. The owner is very hands on and was helpful with everything we needed. We had a great stay. Don't miss this beautiful house and perfect beach.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.

My family and my best friend's family (9 people total) had a great time the week we stayed here! The house had all the amenities we were looking for.. from Air Conditioning to a washer and dryer. The house is large enough for two families to spend time together but also big enough to get away when necessary. The house has 5 bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms which was more than enough for our two families. The view of the ocean from the top deck was great.. you could enjoy watching people surfing and swimming as well as watching the big Cargo Ships in the background. The house is in a perfect location.. a short walk to the beach as well as a short drive to the Virginia Beach Boardwalk. I would rent this house again and would highly recommend it to my family and friends.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, families with young children.

It is the Best Beach at the Beach! The beach is very wide so it never gets crowded. Walks on the beach into Fort Story are peaceful. Lots of shorebirds, seagulls and porpoise. The view from the third floor is amazing. You can see the ocean and the big ships sailing by from the dining room table, the kitchen and from the couch and chairs by the TV too. Great place. And there's a chair lift too (which we didn't use)Recommended for: Sightseeing, people with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

Best Beach at the Beach View on map
This is the biggest, widest and most private beach at the Beach. Period. Take the elevated walkways at 88th or 89th street as you gaze across acres of live oak and plant life clinging to the dunes. If you look hard enough around sunset, you might catch a glimpse of the shy little gray fox.

About the owner: Custom built by our father, this house is named 'upside down house' by friends due to the kitchen and 30' living room being on the 3rd floor. Locating these most popular rooms at the top guarantees fully unobstructed Ocean views through 2 sets of sliding glass doors with cathedral ceiling.
Why the Owner Chose Virginia Beach:
As youngsters spending summers at the beach we fished off the beach, trained our 3 retrievers and learned about aquatic life the the ecology of the dunes during the countless lazy hours of search and discovery. Dad built this house he said, 'because the woman and children like the beach and I get to fish and watch the Ocean'. Navy men like the Ocean.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
This house is in a very private location yet just minutes by car to grocery, restaurant and all the night life of the Beach. Walks on the beach headed south are filled with beach-goers while a walk to the North finds tidal pools and a more tranquil experience on a beach with no houses, only dunes. NO OTHER HOUSE for rent at the beach can boast it is closest to the secluded beach at Ft. Story. Solitude abounds for your favorite Summer Read on these expansive balconies at 8804 Oceanfront, or down on the Beach; a special joy to all who partake of that time. Bike riding is safest at the North End with less traffic parallel to Atlantic Avenue and the dedicated bike paths meandering into Seashore State Park and all the way downtown to the Boardwalk . Fine dining is moments away 'through the woods' along Shore Drive, (State Route 60). This is the closest Oceanfront rental house to the restaurants along the Chesapeake Bay to the West. Can you entertain here? You bet. The open plan of the 3rd floor allows guests to cook, sit, dine, recline on comfortable couches and chairs or meander on the balcony with the fresh Ocean breezes dead ahead, always in view. With our family, Mom gathered a host of friends and extended family around the table. Dad would grill either steaks or fresh seafood caught or bought locally, then wash it all down with 'an occasional Toddy', being beer, wine or whatever you please from the bar adjoining the Kitchen. got kites? There is no better place for kite flying than the Beach. I bought kites, but mostly built my own and flew them at the end of a fishing pole to control the relentless tug of the Ocean Breeze hundreds of feet up. And yes, I lost a few kites which are probably still floating over Spain somewhere by now. This indeed is a lively spot for all, or as serene a scene as you need it to be.
