This is the heart of Provence. The boundaries of the Vaucluse are defined by the valley of the Rhône in the west, which provides irrigation for this land of fruit vegetables and reputed vineyards, to the north of the department the rocky haut Vaucluse. The eastern boundaries are sculpted out of the Alps and the Mount Ventoux; while in the south one finds the Luberon, This is a land of castles, perched villages and craggy landscape. The Luberon is a place much sought after. Even before Peter Mayle and his bestseller Une Année en Provence famous people both in politics and show business came here to escape the curious crowds. The land is rich in truffles, lavender, olives, honey and good wine… all contribute to creating one immense playground for leisure outdoor activities. Nature is gentle here, accessible to all. Take it slow, explore at your own pace. Athletic challenges also abound - it’s up to you to push the limits as far as you want to take them.
Other Activities: Canoe/kayak, Tree Top climbing
Golf: 5mns drive from the house you will find the Golf Provence Country Club Golf Course designed by Jean Garaialde in 1989. It was constructed on the slopes of the Vaucluse mountains incorporating the natural landscape of rocky outcrops, boulders and crags. The Carpentras canal waters the lush green fairways and provides an additional interesting hazard. The vegetation is typical provencal, pine and olive trees with an underplanting of oleander, lavender and rosemary bushes. The view of the Luberon and Alpilles hills in the distance and the lakes and fountains in the foreground is spectacular.
The Golf Course is 6099 metres from the white tees with 38 strategically placed bunkers. It is widely regarded as 'fair but challenging' a truly memorable course to play.
