Our moated castle offers you four original holiday domiciles, which have one thing in common: tranquillity, romance and a burg character. Surrounded by the protecting moat with colourful fish, you can experience a world that is very rare in Germany: A private castle, which is still inhabited today and invites you to be a guest for a while. The holiday apartment 'Burghäuschen“ has 2 bedrooms, bathroom, living room with kitchenette and a cosy fireplace oven. The 'Castle Apartment“ attracts through its architecture uniqueness, historic equipment and paintings on the ceilings and walls along with modern comfort. The 'Falkennest“ combines a unique view from the chapel tower in all directions with cosy living for 1-2 people in historic walls! In the 'Gärtnerhaus“, large families or 2-3 couples will feel comfortable as well: it offers space for up to 6-7 people!
Household help and/or child care: A unique domicile awaits you, which lets you forget all stress and everyday problems. You have the possibility to dive into the world as our ancestors knew it. Be our guest and relax in tranquillity, romance and wonderful nature – without having to miss the comfort of the modern times. We try to provide you with a very relaxing stay. This also includes you being able to not have to do household work – we offer an extra household help which can be booked. This means we do your laundry and iron, shopping and cleaning. Take time and relax!
For the small guests, the Unsleben kindergarten offers great care options for low prices for whole-days or half-days. Children are welcome, it also includes 6-8 year old children. The kindergarten is around 200 m from the castle, it can be reached comfortably in 5 min on foot.
Cycling and hiking paradise in front of the house: The marked paths begin right by the moat. Whether with a dog, bicycle, children or just on foot – here everyone gets what they want. A walk through the charming landscape around the castle is relaxing and lets you forget everyday stress.
And those who do not want to go on a simple walk, the hiking paradise of the Rhone has nearly infinite paths in the mountain and valley, steep and flat, by the river or on the high moor.
Diverse excursion options: The surroundings invite you to go on different types of excursions: Culture in Meiningen, Wurzburg, Fulda and the surrounding area. Don’t forget in Bad Kissingen and other cities with sophisticated and comprehensive concert and theatre programs await you in the summer. Those who want to swim can go to the Triamare in Bad Neustadt/ Saale and will find fun and movement for low prices. But also a few kilometres to the lake.

The exclusive castle apartment is in the medieval wing of the Unsleben castle. It consists of a very spacious living room-bedroom (around 40 m2), the “Blauen Salon”, a small modern equipped kitchen with all comforts (coffee pad machine, dishwasher, oven, microwave, etc.) and a dining table, an original bathroom with a double sink, tub and large mirror along with a spacious anteroom with an elegant dining table. The apartment is an enclosed unit in the castle where guests can enjoy the overpowering charm of the house without disruptions. Tranquillity and the view of the charming landscape past the moat let stressed guests relax quickly.

Es ist ein wirklich tolles Gefühl in diesem Schloss seinen Urlaub zu verbringen. Man fühlt sich in alte Zeiten zurück versetzt. Muss aber trotzallem auf keinen Komfort verzichten. Alles was man sich wünscht findet man in diesem Appartment vor. Die Umgebung lädt zu vielen Wanderungen ein. Sucht man die Aufregung der Stadt ist man hier falsch. Wenn man hingegen mal wieder richtig die Ruhe genießen möchte hat man das perfekte Domizil gefunden.Recommended for: Romantic getaway.

Alles sehr freundlich, sauber und unkompliziert und familenfreundlich. Nicht nur für Mittelalterfans ein Erlebnis. Schöne Wanderungen und Besichtigungen im Umkreis von 20 Km.Recommended for: Families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with teenagers.

Den Aufenthalt im Wasserschloss Unsleben kann man ohne jegliche Einschränkungen empfehlen. Das Schlossapartment besticht durch seine einzigartige Atmosphäre, die sie sofort in ihren Bann zieht. Wir haben das Schloss im Juli besucht und werden auf es jeden Fall wieder aufsuchen, da wir uns hier sehr wohl gefühlt haben und auch von unseren Gastgebern nur das Beste zu berichten wissen. Danke für einen kurzen aber sehr schönen Aufenthalt.Recommended for: Sightseeing, romantic getaway.

Wir sind sehr nett empfangen worden und fanden das Schloss noch schöner und interessanter als auf den Fotos. In der Ferienwohnung fehlte es uns an nichts und wir fühlten uns sehr wohl. Uns hat es ganz gut gefallen,vor allem das Flair, daß das Schloss verbreitet ist schon beeindruckend. Auch das Frühstück ,dass wir dazu gebucht hatten und das uns jeden Morgen pünklichst vor die Tür gestellt wurde, ließ keine Wünsche offen. Auch unsere beiden Kinder waren begeistert, da sie sich als Schlossherren fühlen durften. Da wir mit dem eigenen PKW angereist waren, war es auch kein Problem, die Gegend zu erkunden und uns die Freizeit zu gestalten (z.B. Sommerrodelbahn, Wildpark, Haus der kleinen Wunder, etc.).Recommended for: Sightseeing, romantic getaway.

Wir haben zu fünft ein wunderschönes Wochenende in dem Wasserschloss in Unsleben verbracht. Die schönen alten Möbel und die wunderbaren Wandmalereien versetzen den Besucher in eine längst vergangene Zeit, so dass man ein besonderes Erlebnis mit nach Hause nimmt. Die Ausstattung der Räumlichkeiten ist gut, und man muss auf keine Annehmlichkeiten verzichten.Recommended for: Romantic getaway.

....dann ist man hier genau richtig. In einer wirklich herrlichen Lage in der Natur kann man hier einfach nur mal abschalten vom Alltag. Wir sind sehr nett und freundlich aufgenommen worden. Danke ebenfalls nochmal für das wunderbare Candle-Light-Dinner. Sehr empfehlenswert nicht nur wegen der Atmosphäre sondern auch sehr lecker. Der Ort Unsleben eignet sich gut für Touren durch die Rhön.Recommended for: Families with young children, pet owners, romantic getaway.
