Our moated castle offers you four original holiday domiciles, which have one thing in common: tranquillity, romance and a burg character. Surrounded by the protecting moat with colourful fish, you can experience a world that is very rare in Germany: A private castle, which is still inhabited today and invites you to be a guest for a while. The holiday apartment 'Burghäuschen“ has 2 bedrooms, bathroom, living room with kitchenette and a cosy fireplace oven. The 'Castle Apartment“ attracts through its architecture uniqueness, historic equipment and paintings on the ceilings and walls along with modern comfort. The 'Falkennest“ combines a unique view from the chapel tower in all directions with cosy living for 1-2 people in historic walls! In the 'Gärtnerhaus“, large families or 2-3 couples will feel comfortable as well: it offers space for up to 6-7 people!
Household help and/or child care: A unique domicile awaits you, which lets you forget all stress and everyday problems. You have the possibility to dive into the world as our ancestors knew it. Be our guest and relax in tranquillity, romance and wonderful nature – without having to miss the comfort of the modern times. We try to provide you with a very relaxing stay. This also includes you being able to not have to do household work – we offer an extra household help which can be booked. This means we do your laundry and iron, shopping and cleaning. Take time and relax!
For the small guests, the Unsleben kindergarten offers great care options for low prices for whole-days or half-days. Children are welcome, it also includes 6-8 year old children. The kindergarten is around 200 m from the castle, it can be reached comfortably in 5 min on foot.
Cycling and hiking paradise in front of the house: The marked paths begin right by the moat. Whether with a dog, bicycle, children or just on foot – here everyone gets what they want. A walk through the charming landscape around the castle is relaxing and lets you forget everyday stress.
And those who do not want to go on a simple walk, the hiking paradise of the Rhone has nearly infinite paths in the mountain and valley, steep and flat, by the river or on the high moor.
Diverse excursion options: The surroundings invite you to go on different types of excursions: Culture in Meiningen, Wurzburg, Fulda and the surrounding area. Don’t forget in Bad Kissingen and other cities with sophisticated and comprehensive concert and theatre programs await you in the summer. Those who want to swim can go to the Triamare in Bad Neustadt/ Saale and will find fun and movement for low prices. But also a few kilometres to the lake.

The Alte Brauerei is a historic, spacious 1-family home in the Unsleben castle estate. It comes from the 19th century and after its time as a brewery, it was inhabited by the tenant of the comital fields. Now, guests find a simple place to sleep and rest, very ideal for hiking weekends with friends in the stunning Rhone. The tenant house offers multiple bedrooms of different sizes, a large shared bathroom with a tub and 3 separate WCs. There is a spacious eat-in kitchen where you can cook and eat together. There is no living room! The Alte Brauerei is a house to immediately feel comfortable. It offers a lot of space for everybody, it is robust and easy to take care of and therefore ideal for hiking friends, along with children, dogs, etc. The house is directly near the moated castle – once you step out of the door, you will be in front of the impressive scenery of the castle!
