  Naar aanleiding van de foto's wisten we dat we een mooi huisje geboekt hadden, maar toch overtrof het onze verwachtingen bij aankomst. Via een illuster en steeds steiler bergpad reden we in het donker langs een 'kasteel' naar het huisje bovenop de berg. 's Morgens bleek dat we echt een fantastisch uitzicht hadden en vanuit onze eigen tuin mooie wandelingen konden maken door alle weilanden en velden de berg weer af. Het welkomstpakket dat we vonden in de woning was erg verzorgd. Een lekkere salade, croissantjes, brood en beleg was allemaal al aanwezig. Daarnaast stond in iedere douche al shampoo klaar en zelfs de open haard was al keurig in een wigwam opgebouwd. In de nabije omgeving is niet zo heel erg veel te doen, maar het huis is eigenlijk zo fijn dat je er een week lang kunt genieten van een flinke portie ontspanning zonder dat je de behoefte hebt om op pad te gaan. We zijn gedurende onze week wel naar Brighton geweest en daarnaast hebben we ook gepaintballed in Little Hampton (beiden een half uurtje rijden). Allebei leuke activiteiten. Het is bovendien ook erg fijn dat er op een paar minuten rijden twee grote supermarkten zitten waar je al je boodschappen kunt verkrijgen. Als je op zoek bent naar rust en ontspanning is dit het perfecte huisje.

  Our stay last week at the Gables in west sussex was fantastic. The house is a great space for a family holiday the design anf layout of the house works really well. We had our little girl and two grandma's with us 1 of whom has a dog and we had loads of space. The kitchen is well equiped although the veg peeler was blunt, but that veg peeler is the only thing we could criticise. The location is superb easy to get to Brighton, Chichester, Arundel and even london on the train from the local station was just under the hour. Its a great place. Melissa and her family had left a great welcome pack and were so relaxed about everything they are great to deal with. We couldnt fault it or them. the house is comfortable, quiet has stunning views has a great local pub just abiut within walking distance and friendly neighbours. This property is a real find!! so much so that we have allready recomended it to numerous friends and my sister in law seems keen to make a booking. Our group spanned a 75 year age range and we all were realy happy at the house. The grandma's favourite attraction was Petworth house and Petworth village. Tilly (4year old daughter) loved Monkey Buisness at Lewes and surprisingly Chichester cathedral. We all enjoyed Amberly an open museum with lots to do. Ali and I got to go out for a meal at the local pub with good grub and a superb desert plus a realy great live musician. We had a great holiday and would recomend it strongly. Its a lovely part of the country with lots to do for young and old, see for yourself and book a visit.

  We are originally from England but now living in the US and make trips home to see family several times a year. Each time we come back we rent a house with enough room for all the family to be able to stay together - so over the last couple of years that adds up to about 8 different properties. This house is far and away the BEST experience we have had, from start to finish. Booking with the owners was easy, straightforward and flexible and they went above and beyond our expectations to make our visit convenient and comfortable. The house was spacious, clean and well equipped with everything we needed - especially important considering we have 4 children under 5 in our party. Views were beautiful and we had a fantastic time - will definitely stay here again and highly recommend the property.

  Lovely,welcoming property with wonderful views and more provided than most we have stayed in. In spite of changeable weather,our family,including four teenagers,found plenty to do in the area.

  A beautiful property in a perfect location. Lovely views across the West Sussex countryside and perfectly placed for exploring the area. The interior is very attractive, comfortable and welcoming. The owner has thought of everything you could possibly need and provided above and beyond what one would normally expect from a rental property. Definitely somewhere we would like to stay again should we re-visit the area.

  The location of this property is superb with amazing views in every direction. The house itself is wonderful and beautifully laid out. The amenities provided are top notch and the owner is extremely thoughtful. As a world traveller I would place this house in the top tier of properties that i have stayed in. My wife and I will definitely return. Truely worth five stars.

  Unsere schon hohen Erwartungen wurden noch weit übertroffen. In einer herrlichen Landschaft liegt dieses tolle Ferienhaus in absoluter Ruhe wie geschaffen zum Relaxen und Erkunden der Südküste, den South Downs und natürlich London. Die Ausstattung ist sehr grosszügig und man fühlt sich wie zu Hause. Der Kontakt zu den sehr zuvorkommenden Vermietern ist sehr herzlich und trägt so mit zum absoluten Wohlfühlfaktor bei. Alles in allem ist The Gables sehr zu empfehlen und wir müssen wiederkommen. Henry und Familie aus Deutschland
