This is a stone home built by German masons in the 1940s using specimen stones, turquoise, quartz, geodes etc. It is set off the road surrounded by tall pine trees and backs up to the Rio Ruidoso river. One can see trout from the office window and deer visit in the eventing to snack on our neighbor's apple trees. It has a huge stone fireplace in the large comfortable living room. There are large picture windows in living room, bathroom and office all looking to the back forest and river.

About the owner: We are retired physicians who no longer use this property. Our children grew up spending weekends here skiing and mountain biking.
Why the Owner Chose Ruidoso:
We love having the river in our back yard, very refreshing in the high dry altitude. It has great access to the main road, but is set back so far, it feels like we are off in the wilderness.
The Unique Benefits at this Chateau / Country House:
We are able to walk the dogs down the river trail, away from any traffic. The mountain biking is spectacular and the hiking is wonderful.
