Angie was very good. A complaint about the dishwasher was taken care of right away. House is very close to a train track, on a very busy line as there is constant train traffic. No complain with the main level of the house. The basement does not feel like it's getting enough air circulation.

Okay space with some drawbacks
Okay space with some drawbacks
The Cole Ave property has some positives and negatives. The positives include a well remodeled kitchen and bathroom and a bountiful supply of utensils (pots, pans, glasses, etc.). It is a good way to save money by eating in on a vacation. Furthermore, the house also has nice audio/visual accommodations including television and WiFi. Angie was very accomodating and helpful with email details prior to our stay. The property negatives include a creaky floor upstairs and an uneven floor downstairs. The bed where my wife and I slept was hard and slanted and the train going by is pretty loud for upstairs bedrooms. The neighborhood offers some college attractions and a park, but probably not the focus of a tourist trip to the Twin Cities. All and all, a good place and worthy of the 3 stars (or C+ grade).

Owner response: Thank you for sharing your thoughts about the house. It is very helpful for future guests to know other visitors honest opinions & it assists us in knowing what improvements to make in the future. We completed a full renovation of this home in the Spring of 2012 and one of our main goals was to keep the integrity of the 1920's craftsman style in our remodel. This is definitely not a brand new house by any means, but it does offer modern amenities with the 1920's charm. I apologize if someone in your group was negatively impacted by the train. It is often found as a novelty for kids & is part of the character of the neighborhood. We do make sure that all guests are aware of the train prior to confirming their booking and advise that light sleepers sleep in the lower level or the main level bedroom at the front of the house. If you have another recommendation on how we could minimize the impact on the main level bedroom at the rear of the house, please do let me know. Part of the charm of this craftsman style house is that it still has its original hardwood floors from the 1920's. Unfortunately that means a creek here or there & a slight decline in the lower level hallway. I think you likely found that the floors were finished beautifully and that we have high quality carpet & finishings throughout. Our maximum occupancy recommended occupancy at this location is 9-10 people. We feel that a groups enjoyment of the house may be hindered should the number of guests exceed that limit as was the case for your group. Thank you again for providing your opinion of the house. Please come back anytime and should you have a large group again, please let us know and we can recommend a location that is more suitable to that size of group. Sincerely, Angie & Matt
Great Rental as Advertised!!!
Great Rental as Advertised!!!
Me and 3 other friends stayed at this house for 5 days. The house was very clean (almost looked new) and fit all three of us very comfortable. We each had our own beds plus it fit our golf equipment with no problem. Even though we had a rental car, the house is close enough to downtown to catch a taxi at a very low cost. My only recommendation or wish would be to have a larger ironing board, other than that I can't think of any other improvements. I would definitely stay at this house again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the Minneapolis area. Angie answered all my questions in an appropriate time and provided enough information at the house that I didn't have to ask any other questions. Thank you Angie and I look forward to visiting again!!! Leonard

We enjoyed our stay in your home. This was our first time to Minneapolis and were here for our son's wedding. More comfortable chairs & larger dinner table would have been nice for this many adults, and more cooking utensils, especially...a cookie sheet...as we did a lot of cooking. More clothes hangers would have been good too. We did make needed purchases at the dollar store to help out. We had two crawling-age babies so needed to be very watchful so they wouldn't fall down the stairs. Owners were great in providing us with highchair and pack/play bed. A favorite memory...we had a fantastic thunder/lightening storm! We don't get those in Oregon. FYI: Mannings Restaurant was great for breakfast and just steps from the house. Good location, good off-street parking, clean, updated, good beds, great shower heads! Thanks so much for helping us make wonderful family memories.

Great Girlfriend Trip to Minneapolis!
Great Girlfriend Trip to Minneapolis!
Recently, our travel group of girlfriends gathered to say goodbye to one of our members. We decided to head to Minneapolis, and given we had 8 people in our group, a house would be easier than two hotel rooms. We came across this little gem of a place and were thrilled they still had openings for our dates! The house is charming, slept 8 comfortably, and had space to sit out on the deck and relax between trips around town. The place is next to a train, which interrupted conversations when we were outside, but we couldn't even hear it in the house. Our only recommendation was for a few more mirrors... I would highly recommend this quaint spot for family trips or gatherings of friends!

I desperately needed to get a place for my group somewhere in Minneapolis. The owners picked up on the first phone call and within the hour I had my place booked, paid, and reserved. The process was quick, convenient, and safe. The place is exactly how you see it in the photos, very clean and newly finished. The owners were very helpful with providing cookware and even laundry detergent. One less hassle when you’re traveling. One of them was also kind enough to pop in to check in on us and let us know about the big university event (that might cause a little extra noise). They answered all my questions before I arrived and responded to our little extras after we arrived within a few hours. I did have reservations about this area, not having been to Minneapolis before. But it turned out this area worked out very well for us. Most all of Minneapolis is only 20 minutes away from everything by car. Very convenient if you have a car. I would highly recommend renting from these people again! I’m sad that my group won’t be able to use this place again later in the Fall 2012 and Spring 2013.
