The Makahuena condominium resort is a small, friendly complex located right at Poipu Point, Kauai's southernmost point. It is one of the few places in Kauai where you are able to view both sunrise and sunset. Our two-bedroom, two-and-a-half-bath condominium is furnished with all the comforts of home and has an unobstructed ocean view.
You are able to walk to some of the best beaches in Kauai, with snorkeling, surfing, and fishing only a few minutes away. The unit is located in a quiet building of the resort away from parking and noise. The shady afternoon location of the balcony and master bedroom areas, and the south shore tradewinds will keep you comfortable and relaxed. The resort amenities include a lighted tennis court and a BBQ area with large swimming pool and jacuzzi.
The Makahuena resort is meticulously maintained with tropical plants, bananas and plumerias at your fingertips. All activities are within a short walk or drive, including shopping and rental car pick up. Mahalo for inquiring about our site.

We are Marilyn and Peter Muth. We own this condominium jointly with our son Eric and his Hawaii-born wife Patty. It was the Maine winter that made us look for a warm holiday destination. The rest is history: We fell in love with Kauai, with its unique sights, magical natural beauty and the spectacular cliffs at Makahuena. We saw whales from the cliffs almost every day, and sea turtles as we strolled along the shore. When the opportunity presented itself, we bought the unit at Makahuena. We invite you to experience "Paradise Island" as guests in in our condominium.

Your condo was a perfect home base for exploring the beaches, hikes and beautiful sights on the south side of Kauai. The view was more than we had hoped for - mountains and sea - beautiful! The surf was unusually large for summer on the day we arrived and it was a thrill to watch from your lanai as well as listen to all night with a lovely breeze blowing through the bedrooms. We enjoyed breathtaking sunrises and sunsets from the Makahuena grounds and expecially liked walking the cliff trails to the Hyatt and beyond early in the morning. Although we were not inside much, we also appreciated your nice decor - paintings, quilts etc just added to the feeling of tropical paradise! Mahalo for sharing your home with our family. We are in love with Kauai and will be back!

We had a great time for our girls get away at your condo. The condo was beautiful as advertised. I took pictures of each gorgeous sunrise from the lanai and also of the stunning sunsets. The Trade Winds did remind me of our home in Gold Beach, Or. My daughter, daughter-in-law, and two grand daughters and I explored the entire island, enjoying many activities including kayaking the river, the sunset dinner cruise and Queen's bath. What a beautiful island. Thank you for sharing your little piece of paradise with us. I sincerely would love to bring my husband here for a vacation one day. Thanks once again.

We have just returned from a month in this wonderful little home, it was very comfortable and beautiful. Thank you to the owners who were especially kind and helpful. The area is fabulous with great beaches, amazing sunrise and sunset opportunities, great golf nearby. My husband and I just returned from a week at this townhouse in Kauai and I'm still missing it. It was beautifully furnished and very well maintained. We travel a lot and I can honestly say that this is the only rental we've been in where the kitchen equipment was in excellent condition. Pots, pans and frying pans were all new and perfect. Lots of dishes and matching glasses. We enjoyed watching the sun come up every morning from the bedroom and the trade winds definitely kept the place cool. The complex is situated so that you could enjoy the sunrise and also the beautiful Kauai sunsets. Located in a great area for snorkeling and super restaurants. Grand Hyatt is close by with wonderful restaurants too. We would definitely return. Thanks for sharing your little piece of paradise.
