BOATING, SWIMMING, BIRDWATCHING, HIKING, FISHING, HUNTING, SNOWMOBILING, ATV RIDING, NATURE ENJOYMENT, AND RELAXING - WE HAVE IT ALL! Vacation in the small, quiet, historical village of Lake View Plantation, close to Schoodic Lake. Our home is a totally renovated and enlarged cabin on an acre of land.
It is a 5 minute walk to beautiful SCHOODIC LAKE, which is a large, clear, spring fed lake, twelve and a half miles long and three and a half miles wide. Directly in front of the house is 1200 feet of accessible state owned lake frontage, picnic area and boat ramp. Bring your boat, canoe or kayak for wonderful activities on the lake, in the summer.
The rocky shoreline swimming is excellent, and many enjoy snorkeling and water-skiing. Fishing for Togue, Splake (a hybrid Trout), Brook Trout and Small Mouth Bass is a favorite activity. The sound and sight of Loons during the summer and fall, along with numerous other birds, will bring much enjoyment to nature lovers. An evcning on the lake or by the dock with the sun setting over the mountains, should not be missed. The view of Mt. Katahdin from this end of the lake is unsurpassed. Please request more photos.
Fall activities include bird, deer and moose hunting, hiking, foliage trips, and just relaxing in this beautiful region of Maine. It is an unsurpassed area for ATV riding on many miles of gravel logging roads.
"Three Rivers Wingshooting", a private pheasant and quail hunting preserve is close-by. We can attest to a wonderful day of shooting!

Snowmobiling is the best in Maine, with access from the door, to ITS trails. Drive your snowmobile into the heated bay at night and relax in our warm, cozy home.
The area is famous for it's ice fishing! The famous ice derby is held each year in February on the lake.
Located between the lake and the cabin is a historical railroad track which is used approximately twice daily for freight and logs for the lumber mills. This track was in use many years ago when the American Thread Co. was in existance in Lake View. Many enjoy seeing and hearing the train sound its horn as it passes thru the village road crossing. Don't forget to wave to the engineer and conductor.
