I couldn't have asked for a more tranquil place to stay for mine and my husbands 8 year anniversary. Ann and Chuck were beyond gracious and the accommodations were exquisite! We would, and will, recommend The Sanctuary of the Rose to anyone that is planning a visit to the Pikes Peak area and will be back, hopefully soon, ourselves.

The Sanctuary of the Rose is an excellent and beautiful place to stay to get some rest and relaxation. It allowed us to unwind and remove ourselves from our normal world of chaos. The mountains, Humming birds, Magpies and other natural wildlife was a marvel to observe and respect. Aspirations of finding peace to reflect, meditate, pray and reconnecting and being refreshed are achievable at this quaint guest house. Thank you Ann. You are a gracious host and very accommodating. Look forward to do this again in the future.

For 21 days, I had the wonderful opportunity to live at The Sanctuary. Without doubt, it is, as it appears in the photos and as described in the narrative.Warm and comfortable in a peace-filled setting, one is able to take in the evergreens below Pile's Peek, watch deer meander through the yard and see /listen to hummingbirds at the window. Ann, a lovely, warm and gracious host has made every amenity available. Her husband, Chuck ,a gregarious and well-informed native of Colorado Springs, recommended places to visit and trails to explore.Having stayed at many VRBO's over the years, it's not just the place, but the hosts that make the difference. With Ann and Chuck and The Sanctuary,it's as good as it gets!

The cottage is beautifully decorated. There is so much to do in the area we didn't even spend much time in the cottage. There is a lot to do in the cottage as well- board games, labyrinth, movies, books, and television. We hope to go back there again!

The Sanctuary is a great affordable place to stay! It is close to the major hiking attractions. Ann does a great job keeping this a peaceful, beautiful retreat! We had a wonderful time! Ann was also very accommodating with our requests - letting us check in early. Overall, we had no issues and will be back again, when the time allows! I would definitely recommend this as a romantic getaway! Georgeous and beautiful!

We visited the Sanctuary during a long weekend to get away from our hectic day-to-day life and recharge. It lives up to it's name as a "Sanctuary." Ann greeted us upon arrival, spent time giving us an orientation to the cottage and getting acqainted. She made us feel very welcome & comfortable upon our arrival. The cottage is very clean and beautifully decorated. Guests are provided with restaurant recommendations and information about area attractions. The kichette is stocked with teas & coffee, and the bathroom is filled with spa-like touches. A special feature of the Sanctuary is the labryinth. We also recommend guests take advantage of this unique and beautiful exercise in relaxation. The Sanctuary also has amazing views of the mountains. We had a wonderful stay and are looking forward to our next visit. All of

                      Owner info

                      Year Purchased: 2007

About the owner: Owners Ann and Chuck Benson love welcoming guests to their beautiful property in Colorado. They both love the outdoors and Colorado and have traveled extensively in Colorado and around the world. They have lived in Colorado Springs since 1986 and have extensive knowledge about the area. Chuck is an architect and art historian. Ann is a part time dental hygienist and spiritual director. They live in the main house with their 2 cats, Max and Mim.

Why the Owner Chose Colorado Springs:
We purchased this property in 2007 after Ann had a dream of an adobe guesthouse that welcomed travelers and people in need of healing and restoration. The Sanctuary of the Rose officially opened its doors a year later.

The Unique Benefits at this Cottage:
Guests staying at The Sanctuary of the Rose will have the perfect Colorado experience of being 'in' the mountain foothills with beautiful mountain views, and yet will be close to all Colorado Springs attractions. The Sanctuary is the only guesthouse on the property it shares with the main house, and so it is quiet and private.
