The Sugar Beach Complex features 3 pools, one heated in the winter, a childrens pool, covered gazebos and comfortable lounge chairs for your sunning pleasure. The Sugar Shack by the pool area serves hamburgers, hot dogs and other fun food along with the beverages of your choice. All parking is under roof on the first floor and security is provided at the entry gate. A tennis court and shuffle board are located on the second floor.
Great to-go seafood is located directly across the street for delicious in room dining. Sugar Beach is conveniently located close to both Orange Beach and Gulf Shores dining and shopping. The entrance to a beautiful 12 mile paved biking trail thorough the wetlands of Orange Beach is right across the street..so bring your bicycles for a great ride or rent a bike at the entrance. This is by far the most beautiful 1 bedroom condo in Sugar Beach. Walls have been moved and deleted. Upstairs the large closet is gone and has been replaced with a toilet and sink. The shower upstairs is brand new tile and granite with sink. The downstairs bathroom has been enlarged and has a beautiful tiled shower. The kitchen has a tray ceiling with enough lights, on separate switches, to land a 747. It has 2 40 inch wall mounted TV's. You will not be disappointed with this unit.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.

Overall, this condo could have been a nice place to stay. We were looking for a no-frills place to stay on the beach at a reasonable price. This place could have been that but missed the mark. The complex was nice and everyone was friendly who worked there. The beach was nice and the access was great. But our room was a major disappointment. As soon as we walked in we saw a futon in complete disarray with pillows thrown about and the mattress sticking out of it. This made us wonder if room service forgot to stop by, even though it was 6:30 at night. Then we saw a dead spider in the middle of the entry way. Went upstairs and saw that the room had been cleaned as bed was made and toilet had a sign that said it was just sanitized. We were ok with those things for the most part and kept moving on. Come dinner time we opened the utensil drawer and saw a huge dead roach! So we had to clean EVERYTHING before we used it. Then when we wanted to get ready for bed and watch TV we realized that the blinds had about 4 or 5 missing (the vertical ones that rotate to close) so we had to hang towels and put a chair in front of it to get some privacy. Then come shower time we had to rig the shower curtain up to work. Almost half of the holes in the curtain that the hangers went through were ripped so we had to make new holes to get it to stay up. The carpets had their fair share of stains on them too. they had been cleaned but just weren't cutting it. Like I said, this place could be a nice unit but it's obvious no one wanted to take the time or the few dollars it would take to make this place a nice stay. It was very disappointing to deal with the little issues every time we turned the corner. Due to the condition it was in we should have been paying much less than we actually did. Wish we would have stayed somewhere nicer or at least a place that had a single good review. I'd recommend Sugar Sands but stay away from this unit.Did you find this review helpful?
