Ardmore house description
Welcome to the beautiful village of Ardmore! Imagine you come home from a fun day at the beach or doing activities, you have just had a fabulous meal, and now you are drinking a nice glass of wine with your legs thrown in front of the fireplace, and watch the magnificent sunset over the idilic bay and town below!
Enjoy your stay in this spacious 4 bedroom detached, timber clad bungalow, which was recently renovated in a New England beach house style. The house is located in the village of Ardmore with spectacular sea views from all front windows. The private gardens have been beautifully landscaped and stone patio complete with timber garden furniture ensures that it is the perfect location for hosting BBQ's or just relaxing with a good book.
A lovely way to start the morning is by doing the Cliff Walk, which takes approx. 40mins with spectacular scenery. Another beautiful walk would be the Three Beaches, which lasts roughly an hour. Why not stroll through the picturesque village, stop off for a hot cup of coffee and a homemade pastry, and get lost in the exquisite craft shops. On the other hand, if you prefer a more action packed day, give the Ardmore Adventure Centre a call. They offer a wide range of both land and water activities that are fun for all the family. If what you are looking for is to just get away from it all, then look no further than outside your front door. The Cliff House Hotel has a huge choice of organic spa and health treatments available to make you feel and look exceptionally good.
Ardmore has a reputation in Ireland for its top quality food. The Cliff House Restaurant is famous for having a Michelin Star, one of only 3 in all of Ireland. Another famous restaurant is The White Horses, which has won various prestigious awards for the past number of years.
If you are coming to Ireland to learn about its rich and far-stretching history, then you need come no further than Ardmore. The town is very proud of its Patron Saint Declan. It is believed that he was the first person to bring Christianity to Ireland in the 5th Century, even before St. Patrick! St. Declan's festival is held every year during the 3rd week of July and is a source of great activity in the town. Other famous historical towns close to Ardmore that are well worth a visit would be Youghal (pronounced Y'all), Lismore and Dungarvin. The area know as Ring, or more commonly known as 'An Rinne' in Irish is one of only 8 Irish speaking areas, or Gaeltacht, in Ireland. I would highly recommend the 'Marine Bar' there for its Monday Night traditional Irish music sessions, it is a must see!

Wonderful holiday in Ardmore!
Wonderful holiday in Ardmore!
A group of 8 of us (all adult women) stayed in this home in late October after running the Dublin Marathon. Our entire experience was amazing; the owner and caretaker were both devoted to making our stay as perfect as possible. They were very quick to answer our many questions over email and were very easy-going about meeting in Ardmore to take us to the house. The house was just as enchanting as the area around it; it fosters a family atmosphere of comfort and ease with a touch of the elegant. The common areas were the perfect place to cook a meal, drink some wine, and enjoy each others company. The bedrooms were all tastefully decorated and comfortable. Although Ardmore is a small down, the location was perfectly centered among the activities offered by the area; we were easily able to take short to visit Cork, Blarney, Cobh, Midleton (Jameson distillery) and many other towns would have been just as easy to reach. It was also the perfect place to just stay in town for a relaxing day; the Cliff walk was awe inspiring and the history of St. Declan made the stay a reflective one. We also visited the Cliff House and the local pub, and were welcomed everywhere we went! Honestly, we can't say enough about this wonderful stay; you'd be lucky indeed to be able to spend a few days here any time of year! Oh, and we were recommended to go to The Coach House in Youghal for dinner; it was an amazing meal!
