Bisbee house description
Dog- and kid-friendly!
Bisbee House is a charming, historic miner’s home in a quiet neighborhood just a short, 5-minute walk from Main Street. Its tree-shaded and fenced courtyard and close proximity to downtown make it a wonderful vacation destination.
The home was built by one of Teddy Roosevelt’s Roughriders! The original adobe structure has been modified and upgraded through the years and a well-equipped kitchen, vaulted beadboard ceilings, flat-screen TV, cable, wi-fi, and comfortable beds and lounge areas await your visit.
There are 2 cozy adjoining bedrooms (queen beds) furnished for comfort, and a bath with a clawfoot tub/shower. The living room contains a futon sleeper for additional sleeping accommodations. A laundry room with full-sized washer/dryer is provided.
Bisbee House is reached via just a few wide/deep steps (no stairway) into a secluded garden courtyard, from which there is a partial view of the mountains. The yard is private (not shared) and is completely fenced -- perfect for those who like to spend time outside in a romantic setting and also handy for those with children and dogs. The owners are dog lovers who want to ensure dogs are comfortable and safe off-leash. That can be hard to find in Bisbee, but with its garden courtyard outside, and hardwood and tile floors inside, Bisbee House is both kid- and dog-friendly.
Bisbee House has on-street parking with even more parking in the free city lot nearby.
The house is typical for Bisbee: it's 832 square feet. The living and dining areas are combined.
The house went through lots of updating (painting, refurnishing, a brand new fence, plus a partial kitchen remodel) in May 2012, with more new furnishings, linens, and landscaping added in September 2012. The exterior of the house was painted, and new front screen doors, and a separate window a/c unit for the master bedroom were added in June 2013. In October 2013, we replaced/restored the living room hardwood flooring.
Discover Bisbee! It’s a delightful town to wander.

Fun visit in a lovely town
We spent a perfectly enjoyable week in Bisbee, exploring. Visited the museum, toured the Copper Queen mine, visited Tombstone and Kartchner Caverns. Did we mention the weather is “perfect” in Bisbee? Enjoyed exploring our family history. During WWII, my father was a Penn. coal miner who was drafted into the U. S. Army, sent to boot camp, and spent the years during WWII mining copper in Bisbee for the war effort. My mother traveled several days by bus, and they were married at the courthouse when she arrived. Fun visit in a lovely town.

Thanks again for renting your delightful house
Very comfortable house, quirky/interesting town, great location for wandering out and about. Locally would recommend the museum, and just strolling. Lots of interesting things to see, very friendly place. Loved the Copper Queen Hotel. Further afield, Tombstone was fine. Only here for a few days, would like to return for longer and explore further. We really enjoyed the whole experience. I would recommend Arizona as a destination and Bisbee was a delight. Would like to have spent longer in the area but maybe another time. Thanks again for renting your delightful house. It was a pleasure to holiday in.

Perfect Place to Stay!
Perfect Place to Stay!
When returning to Bisbee for our 3rd annual Bisbee 1000 stair climb, we knew we wanted a house within walking distance of downtown, and we found it! This adorable house has all the comforts of home and was the perfect location for our stay. The private patio provided a relaxing spot to unwind after the race. We cooked several meals in the fully equipped kitchen, and the house was extremely clean and well-maintained. We've already booked our stay for next year's race. Thank you for your hospitality! Looking forward to October 2014!

Your house and patio were wonderful
Becky- Your house and patio were wonderful. We had a great time. You were one of the only VRBO houses that had movies and books. I loved that you had a hairdryer. You have a great house, and it is especially nice that you allow dogs.

We enjoyed our stay at this funky little cottage, great location close to downtown, very clean and the owner was great with communications. The fenced courtyard was the most appreciated amenity. We would stay here again!

We had such a great experience in Bisbee. The house is so charming and well maintained. It has everything you would need. We parked our car upon arrival and walked everywhere the whole weekend. The location is PERFECT! We brought our two doggies and they were welcome just about everywhere we went. The owner is great to work with too. Great fun! We would stay there again for sure.

Charming Secluded Sanctuary
Charming Secluded Sanctuary
As adorable as Old Bisbee itself, this charming cottage offers the works. Fully equipped kitchen with new appliances, good quality pots, pans and sharp knives. Comfy furniture within an open-style floor plan with hardwood flooring and Saltillo tile. The fenced in courtyard offers both safety and privacy for kids and dogs alike. The owner provides detailed instructions including door-to-door travel directions, as well as tips and suggestions bound in a large red notebook to make your stay a grand success. Walk to Main Street, shop, eat and drink--then walk it all off in the Bisbee hills. The cottage is a home away from home, clean, quiet and calming. After my 7 week stay, I am eager to return!

Enjoyed the stay very much
The place is very nice. I have really loved hiking some trails. It's right in the middle of everything. The rain has been awesome. Great temperatures. Enjoyed the stay very much. Thank you for letting us stay in your beautiful home. It was a wonderful week. The rain was great, the food was awesome, old friends, new friends, always the best. We definitely will be here and I would recommend it to anybody. It was awesome to see the birds eat, the quietness of the neighborhood, but yet within walking distance from central [Main Street]. Thank you so much.

Year Purchased: 2012
About the owner: We are a middle-aged kid-and-dog loving couple. All of the kids are grown. We have 7 grandchildren (so far) and 2 dogs.
Why the Owner Chose Bisbee:
We made our first visit to Bisbee in February 2012 and immediately fell in love with the town. Daily, we wandered from our lodging to the coffee shop to the library (the oldest in Arizona) to the meandering roads on both sides of Main Street. The town has something going on year round. Within a week, we had started looking at a home to purchase.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
We chose this house because it had all of the features we wanted: it was only a few minutes from downtown, it has a fenced yard, and it doesn’t have a lot of stairs. It's amazingly private for a home that's minutes from downtown. There is no long hike back up the hills after dinner out, or dozens of stairs to climb with luggage or groceries. We spend as much time as possible at our Bisbee home, enjoying the lovely weather and walking the town with our two dogs.
