Nicely Furnished Apartment in Northshore with Great City Views

  This apartment's great location more than makes up for minor maintenance issues. The apartment is about a 5 minute walk to the walking bridge on the north shore and another 5 minutes to Coolidge Park, which is great for families. In the past, we've stayed in hotels near the aquarium. This apartment is across the river in a more residential part of the city. I found this part of the city better for staying with our young children, who loved playing in the water fountains and riding the carousel at Coolidge Park. This part of the city is also more pedestrian friendly than the downtown. It's true that the apartment could use some maintenance. A window is broken, the handrail on the front stairs is rickety, some doors stick and some cabinet handles are loose. That said, these are minor problems. As for what I find important, the beds were very comfortable and the televisions were nice and had cable. The kitchen is small but all the appliances work. The unit also has a washer/dryer and a Keurig coffee maker. Tips for travelers: bring Keurig coffee cups if you want to make your own coffee.

  The description of this apartment is not accurate, and the details are misleading. Beware when the description boasts about the kitchen and the large deck and gas grill. For instance, The kitchen is quite sparse, with very few utensils to use, and has no kitchen table or chairs for meals, as you can see in the photo. So you are definitely NOT going to save money on any meals here. Which is a shame, because there is plenty of room for a nice kitchen table and chairs set. There was no gas grill, which didn't matter because there were no grilling utensils to use at all. The deck was pretty much useless, without furniture on it. The deck is very rickity and has no table or chairs on it for grilling/eating outside or for enjoying the so called "view". There were so many areas that I thought needed a lot more attention. It is quite run-down and in need of repairs. There is peeling paint, broken blinds, and no attention to details at all. The bathroom and shower were OK. The bedroom was OK. The "second bedroom" is really just a separated trundle bed by the back door. The closets were awful. They were not ready for guests to use as they were full of what looked like junk. Not extra pillows and blankets for guests, but junk left behind, like piles of clothes, broken lamps, etc. Those closets definitely need to be completely cleaned out before renting again. It is close to lots of things you could walk to, which was the one good thing. There is a lot of potential here, but this place is just being too neglected and is in bad need of attention. I would definitely skip this one.

  Owner response: Hey there, we take every guest's criticism to heart and although this guest did not let us know any of her concerns while staying in our small apartment for two nights, we still believe in giving every guest an opportunity to make us better. I have looked over the apartment since this guest wrote this scathing review and can say some things at this location needed attention. First, I have replaced the small table and two counter height chairs in the kitchen with four chairs and a small dining room table (see new picture). Second, I have replaced the Weber charcoal grill on the deck with a small propane gas grill. I have also taken away the wrought iron bench that was on the deck while this guest stayed with us and put two wonderful patio chairs and a table in its place. Third, we have cleaned all the closets out and each closet now has a suitcase rack that can be used. Fourth, we brought in a small leather chair that sits next to the sofa. Fifth, the second bedroom is still two twin beds, this room is mainly used for children and other than this guest, no one else has complained. Sixth, we have ordered and installed more silverware, cooking utensils and pots and pans. Seventh, we have replaced the broken blinds. And eighth and last, we hope you will read the other reviews and realize we are hard-working folks who take constructive criticism very seriously and we hope the other reviews speak for themselves :-).   The apartment is within walking distance to The Walnut Street Pedestrian Bridge which takes you to all of the attractions in downtown Chattanooga. It is in need of some repairs though and is best for just 2 people. The master bedroom is so small that we used the 2nd bedroom as a dressing and luggage room. The living room just has 1 couch for seating and so again best for 2 people. There is not a DVD player as advertised and unlike a previous post the pots and pans are not gourmet and are in need of replacing. With a little TLC this could really be a nice place!

  This apartment is in a perfect location for seeing Chattanooga. We stayed for three nights - parked the car and walked or rode the free shuttle everywhere in downtown. The apartment was clean and had everything we needed, including comfortable beds, plenty of towels, wifi, 3 tvs, two full/queen beds, Keurig coffee maker, and high-quality cookware. Two tips: bring ice if you need it, as there is no ice maker, and take quick showers or stagger your showers - hot water only lasted for one shower. The owners are professional and quick to answer questions I had prior to our arrival. We would absolutely stay here again.

  Apt. was clean and the beds were very comfortable. Great location and very convenient for walking to many attractions. It was very affordable and all in all we enjoyed our week there.

  Location is great. It is walking distance from downtown Chattanooga which is a beautiful downtown. It is also close to the electric shuttle service that is free and will take you to many attractions around the downtown area. Plenty of activities for adults and kids in the area. The apartment itself is on the small size but cozy and adequate for our family (2 adults and 3 kids). Price is very reasonable. Downside, it is located on the upstairs and if you have kids that has some energy, it may bother the downstairs tenant (depending on the tenant). I didn't think our kids were loud and we were out and about most of the day but pitter patter of little feet in the morning and evening maybe bothersome to the downstairs. Otherwise, place is clean but you may have to bring your own cleaning supplies to keep it clean if you are staying for more than a couple of days.

  Great economy apt. We walked everywhere for 2 days. Only drove to Lookout Mtn. area. The Aquarium was awesome, as is the whole city of Chattanooga.. Very hip and clean, bikes to rent and free trolley service. So many place to eat and shop at, not to mention the awesome park across the street. Would love to visit again soon and would stay here again. Need to be able to climb up stairs though!

  Although being walking distance to some of Chattanooga's best restaurants, nightlife, shopping, attractions and riverfront, the apartment itself was still secluded enough to enjoy quiet privacy; located in a very safe and friendly neighborhood. In addition to the great views and the airy feeling of the apartment, the property managers and staff were always very courteous and prompt in remedying any issue that came up during our 2-month stay. I would highly recommend this place ... great apartment and great experience!

  Apartment is in a great location. Easy access to Frazier Avenue, Coolidge Park and the bridges. Quiet location. Outdoor patio to enjoy the view of downtown. Small, but comfortable apartment. Excellent benefit was being able to have our dogs travel with us. Convenient parking. Excellent correspondence from the owner.

  We stayed with our young children and found the area it's located to be just lovely. Full of walking distance parks and cafes and shops. I don't think we will ever stay downtown again! The apartment was clean, but more than anything, the owner was accessible and accommodating to anything we need. Will definitely stay there again.
