Beach Cottage Seattle is just footsteps from the beach, 9 miles from downtown, 9 miles from SeaTac airport, and a delightful getaway. Constructed in the 1970s, the cottage has been lovingly updated by its newest owners, two Seattle based artists. The cottage’s westward view of Puget Sound faces Vashon Island and beautiful Seattle sunsets. Seabirds, occasional seals and eagles can be seen. When the tide is out, long walks are in.

Sit on the deck and watch the day light up and the sun set.
Listen to the birds call and the waves roll against the shore.
Relax in the cozy reading nook and gaze at the water between chapters.
Look around at the custom wood ceilings, cast glass light fixtures, paintings, and other thoughtful details.

The kitchen is well-equipped with utensils, dishes, pots & pans, a coffee maker, toaster, and microwave. You will have WiFi, basic cable, DVD, iPod dock, and a local use, land-line phone. The bedroom has a comfy queen size bed, good closet space and a dresser. There is a full bathroom, and the reading nook in the living room has outlets to accommodate laptop or iPad use. There is a single convertible couch/bed in the living room. Outdoor parking is located directly in front of the cottage, though a woodland trail or short hike up the road leads back up to public transportation if you want to leave your car behind.

Beach Cottage is located in a quiet beachfront community in West Seattle. Nearby Westwood Village has a large grocery store, drugstore, Target, Barnes & Noble, and other shops and restaurants. You are just a few miles away from The Junction, West Seattle's shopping district, and Seattle’s renowned Lincoln Park, with beautiful waterfront and woodland trails, an outdoor saltwater swimming pool (open Memorial Day to Labor Day), and the Fauntleroy Ferry dock with service to Vashon Island and Southworth.

The owners are only 3/4 of a mile away, so within easy reach for any questions or needs.

My husband and I live on a boat and when he had to undergo shoulder surgery, I cringed at the thought of bringing him home, woozy and bouncing off the narrow hallways and steep stairways, not to mention getting him 200 ft down the dock to our slip. So instead, I found the Beach Cottage and took him there. What a Godsend!! It was the perfect place to convalesce, and with the sunshine and unseasonably warm weather that came with it, he was able to sit out on the deck when the pain pills were working, lounge on the daybed enjoying the view when the affect began to lessen, snooze in the comfortable bed when he needed rest. As for our dog Biscuit and myself, we soaked up every non-nursing minute in the sun that we could. Very restful, very cozy, in a totally removed location that is still minutes away from everything you need. The Beach Cottage would make a great "weekend away" for anyone, but especially Seattle-ites who don't want to spend a bunch of downtime traveling. There is nothing as restoring as a beautiful water view, the sound of lapping surf and seagulls crying in the background!

I was only slightly sceptical because I have stayed at places that I thought misrepresented their actual waterfront views in Seattle, and I actually lived in Alki Beach for 6 years, but there are so many little nooks and crannies you can hide beachfront cottages. This one is awesome. It is what it appears. Great views looking over the Puget Sound and the Olympics, and a great beach to walk on. At low tide, you could see hundreds of squirting Gui ducks just under the surface of the sand. Its a quirky little place but I mean that endearingly. Its is owned by artist ....in Seattle...nuff said about that. Mindi is a wonderfully sweet and easy to deal with owner. Very accomodating and easy to like. I had to work there while visiting, and the internet speeds are 20Mb D/L and almost 10Mb up...amazing for working remote. (for the tech heads). The only "negative" if you will is that the TV channels are basic basic ...like 2-23 basic,...Which is fine because most people don't care about TV when visiting, but I am a recently former resident and was looking forward to Game of Thrones on Sunday night..but I did manage to hook up my laptop to the 19" supplied LCD TV and streamed it from HBO/GO. All in all a great experience, and I highly recommend it.

My husband and I were looking for a place to visit our daughter and family. They live in West Seattle and this was a perfect location to visit them and the city. We had never been to this neighborhood before and loved it - the views were beautiful - we arrived on a sunny day and could see the Olympics and the Sound - wonderful. The apartment was clean and had lots of artful touches - quite nice. We would recommend this to anyone looking for a quiet, cozy, spot close to downtown and fun places in West Seattle. The house had a binder with recommendations for restaurants and activities in the area. We went to Bakery Nouveau on California and had the twice baked almond croissants as suggested- delicious!

Had a wonderful stay at this very cosy spot overlooking the ocean. I found it a great spot to run, and hike, and walked almost every day up to Lincoln park

My husband and I wanted a nice place to stay while we visited our daughters and other family in Seattle. We really enjoyed the Beach Cottage and its cozy simplicity. We loved the artwork, very creatively displayed. The views were delightful whether rainy or clearing over the water. The neighborhood is quiet and peaceful while the folks we met were very friendly. Stores and restaurants were close and convenient. We enjoyed cooking in the kitchen, playing games and visiting, a lovely family get-together. We hope to return in the summer and enjoy this wonderful beach community when the sun is shining. We would bring kayaks next time, perfect spot! Mindi was wonderful and available if we needed anything. We would certainly recommend this property.

We had a wonderful time at your little cottage. The view is beautiful and the area is very nice. Enjoyed relaxing in the nook and on the deck. We also hopped on the ferry and headed to Vashon Island for the day which was a quick and easy drive! :) Thank you.

We spent 10 days at "the Cottage" late September 2012 and were sad to leave (already rented to someone else). The proximity to the shore (right across the street), Lincoln Park and the Seattle area made it a perfect rental. The cottage is decoratively appointed by the hosts art work making it even more fun. This rental was dog friendly and our yellow lab was as comfortable as we were! We highly recommend staying at "the Cottgae" if you are looking for a nice 1 bedroom rental in the Seattle area.

My wife and I, and our puppies stayed in this wonderful beach cottage for 5 nights. It is literally within 50 yards of the water, and the view is absolutely amazing to wake up to each day. We had all the amenities we could need, and the place was very clean. The decor is relaxed and comfortable, and a little bit artistic. We would recommend this to anyone, even though it may be 20-30 min drive to downtown. The relaxing, beautiful atmosphere is so worth it.

This cozy cottage was perfect for a relaxing weekend for our family of 4. The cottage was super clean and well kept. Our 9 year old loved the bed nook! The view is phenomenal and the beach so close. We were minutes from family and downtown. When we come to Seattle we will definitely stay here again!

We found the cottage very clean, comfortable, and adorable. The cottage is at the end of a dead-end street - it's very quiet and relaxing with a small private beach available to homeowners/renters in the neighborhood - right across the street! It was perfect for kayaking. We had a wonderful veiw of the water from the deck and ate most of our meals out there. We are from a small town and enjoyed the peacefulness of the area away from the crazy traffic of Seattle. The cottage is very close to the Vashon Island ferry which we took one day and enjoyed exploring the island and there is a very nice mall with a great grocery store only a couple of miles away. There is no doubt I will contact Mindi about staying at the cottage next time I'm in Seattle. She is so easy to work with - unfortunately we did not get to meet her this trip but hope to meet her next time. By the way, you can't stay in a decent hotel for the price of this cottage - it's almost too good to be true!

Why the Owner Chose West Seattle:
Beach Cottage was discovered while walking in the neighborhood. Owning this charming cottage so close to home was an unknown dream come true. It has been lovingly fixed it up for personal use and to share with others. As there are so few 'motel' rooms in West Seattle, it serves those looking for a place to stay in the area.
