Very nice place with all amenities! Would be worth noting it's in Sterling not Soldotna. That did not bother us just thought I would mention it. Thanks again for letting us stay at your wonderful cabin!!

Owner response: Anna thank you for the nice review. As to my listing you only get to choose one listing sight and people typically do not search sterling when looking up the Kenai Peninsula Nice thing is we are very close to Soldotna. Thank you again and glad you enjoyed your stay. from all of us at (FISHON!!!)
Perfectly wonderful in every way!
Perfectly wonderful in every way!
Perfectly prepared for our arrival, perfectly appointed, perfectly decorated and perfectly located - did we mention it was perfect?! Beautiful property in the Sterling/Soldotna area, centrally located on the peninsula so it was a convenient drive to everywhere we wanted to be. The cabin in the woods is just what you would imagine if you were dreaming of a perfect place in Alaska. It is so well decorated, too, from the bear skin hanging on the wall right down to the dish towels. Comfortable beds, plenty of instantly hot water for lots of showers, and it was so great to get home with no dirty clothes - the washer and dryer got a work out! Enjoyed fresh caught salmon on the gas grill and found a couple of nearby cafes for tasty meals in Alaska sized portions. The location really did make it easy for us to see all we planned during our 10 day stay in Alaska. Also appreciate the referrals to guides; that worked out well with Ed O'Connor at Advantage Angling and Talon Air for the flyin - our guide, Ryan, was a young man from Kansas! Made the Homer trip for halibut and Seward twice for a glacier cruise and dog sledding. Everyone we met was so helpful and friendly, and full of information. They are all very happy to be in Alaska. We had an amazing vacation. Thanks so much, Curtis, for making your beautiful home available to us. Now, we wonder if we should have a place in your amazing state - will have to give that some serious thought. Until then, we'll be in touch when we have an opportunity to visit again. Owner response: We are so glad you had a perfect vacation. I'm glad you got to finally see Alaska but I warned you it would ruin you and it sounds like it did. You will never be the same that's what happens to most people when they come for there first visit. (HOOKED!) We are glad you also enjoyed the guides we recommended they do a wonderful job of showing our guests the ins and outs. Till you buy your own place come see us again. From the perfect crew (CURTIS, KATY & SARAH) Thank you!!!!
My brother Tom, his wife Sally and I stayed in this wonderful cabin for 5 nights and had a great time. It is situated perfectly for day trips to Homer and Seward. The Russian river is a close 45 minutes and the salmon fishing was unbelievable. Curtis and his wife have thought of everthing you might need to need for an enjoyable stay. The cabin was very clean and well maintained. The decorations were adorable and the cabin is much cuter than the pictures show. The washer and dryer were an added benefit. The only suggestion I would make for this to be a perfect getaway is to add satellite TV.

Curtis and Katy, I would like to take a few moments to thank you for all you did to make it possible for our family to stay in your fabulous cabin. Our last minute vacation plans would not have been successful without your “above and beyond the call” approach to ensure all the necessary arrangements were finalized prior to our arrival. The cabin was just amazing with all the living space, layout, accommodations, and the unbelievable “personal touches” throughout the entire space. As a log cabin owner myself, I can greatly appreciate all you have done to make this cabin just perfect for all who might be fortunate to stay there. My entire family and grand kids were just amazed with everything. Sarah did such a wonderful job in getting the cabin prepared for our stay prior to our arrival and was readily available to answer any questions we had. During our stay we had a wonderful time clamming at Clam Gulch and Ninilchik beaches. We had quite a successful run I might say. At the end of each day it was very comfortable to arrive back at the cabin to relax and wrap up the day’s events. We were also very successful in locating some new local fishing holes for future travels in the Sterling and Soldotna area. Again, thanks for all you did for us and making our five day stay such a memorable one.

Owner response: Thank you Michal and your family . We are so glad that our cabin fit your needs. We have tried very hard to think of putting what our guests need in the cabin to make it like there homes. And thank you for mentioning Sarah who makes our job of sharing our home so much easier she is always there for our customers. So from all of us it was our pleasure to help with your last minute trip. Curtis, Katy, Sarah (FISHON!!!)
We stayed four nights. The cabin is almost new. Very clean and furnished with a perfect selection of furniture. Location is close to shopping and resturants. The owner and the local manager were very helpful in all respects. Our favorite activity was a fly-out to Cresent Lake for Salmon fishing and Bear viewing. We loved our stay and highly recommend it to everyone.

Fish On Cabin
Fish On Cabin
The Fish On Cabin well exceeded our expectations!!! The internet photos don't do justice to this lovely cabin outside of Soldonta. From the time our family of four (Mom, Dad, & girls ages 12 & 9) pulled up we were amazed at the cabin. Settled back in a wooded area among the wildlife (moose tracks were visible, snow shoe hares running everywhere) it was a perfect size cabin for our week stay. It was by far the cleanist and well maintained place I have ever stayed in!! The king size bed and the double queen size bunk beds were very comfortable. It has a nice size bathroom with both a tub & shower. An added plus was the washer/dryer unit too. The full kitchen allowed us to enjoy and save money on meals also. The cabin is situated so that day trips to Seward, Homer, Kenai, Coopers Landing and other areas are easily reachable. Fishing was close also. It was perfect to go site seeing, exploring, and fishing then come back to the cabin and relax in the living room, playing card/board games or enjoying a movie. I can't thank Curtis, the owner enough for being so helpful to get us into the cabin and stay in touch with us before, during, and after our stay. The greeting as you arrive to the cabin is also very helpful to show you around and explain any questions you may have, along with giving you insights to the area, shortcuts to get around the town, and interesting places to visit. We as a family could not of found a better place to stay for 6 nights. It was better than being home!! We highly recommend staying at the Fish On Cabin and hope to return to enjoy this wonderful hidden cabin in the Sterling/Soldonta area again.

About the owner: In 1998 my wife and kids and I made a once in a lifetime trip to Alaska little did I know what that trip would do to me. 15 years later and I sttill cant get enough.
Why the Owner Chose Soldotna:
Sterling is centrally located between Homer 90 min (halibut capital of the world) and Seward 90 min A beautiful must see destination and fishing port. We are 3 min from our fishing hole at the Kenai and yet we are only 10min to down town Soldotna. We can sit right on our porch with our favorite beverage and watch the wildlife stroll through the property. Quiet and perfect
The Unique Benefits at this Cabin:
