  A big group from our family went up their for four days. We had such an awesome time we can't wait til next year we plan on going again. The space, the layout everything about the house was great. The only thing we all said we would change was the fact that there was only one full bathroom but we made it work. The location was also perfect close to everything and awesome view from the livingroom. On top of everything else the people in charger of renting it were always there to help. This was our first time renting and they made it easy for us. We couldn't have asked for a better place

  Thank you Bobby and Dough, We had such a blast in your house and thank you for allowing our extra guest. The kids had a blast and we had a great time using the home during our stay Dec 2nd to 11th. It's great to have a wood burning fireplace the kids used it for marshmallows, with our supervision of coarse. Thanks for the discount for the week, the entire week for $1800.00 not bad compared to others we checked, hope to be back before the end of winter. Thanks for the fast response and inconvenience with one of the kids locking the bathroom door, you got to right away. This place is great… The Matthews family.

  We had a blast at this cabin house for our family vacation, with a large group of nine Adults and seven Children. It was so complete that all you had to do was bring your food and clothes, a little hard with one full bathroom, but over all everyone had fun. The rooms are very well furnished, the kitchen is well stocked. We had to haul the trash to the dump at the end of our stay, but we are used to it, this is a standard. We stayed at other places and so far this one is one of the best, moving to the top of our list. The owners are very responsive had to check out later and they accommodated us. Great vacation place for the cheap price, we stayed for 5 nights. We were a 10 to 15 min drive to the skii lifts and stores. The kids enjoyed walking to the little store a few blocks away. Will be back with our family in the summer. The Rivers Family.

  Just wanted to let you now everything went really well at the Big Bear cabinduring our stay Feb 11th to the 14th, 2011. We did have one little accident with spilling of hot chocolate. We did try and clean it up, so the spot on the carpet might still be wet. Other than that we had a great time.

  We got such a great deal for the cabin. It was too good to be true. There had to be a catch. And there was. There are so many things wrong with this cabin I don't know where to start. I felt that many of the things listed below should have been addressed prior to check in. Issues: 1) No trash can in the kitchen; no trash can in upstairs bathroom 2) Two of the rooms had burnt out light bulbs, and thus we had to switch some out in the living room. 3) No dish soap in the kitchen; No hand soap in the downstairs bathroom 4) Cabin sleeps 14, but only have plate setting and towels for 8. **5) THIN WALLS; They honestly need in to look into this. You can hear the kitchen noise from the upstairs far bedroom. 6) Sliding glass door had a crutch, yes a crutch, to lock it shut 7) No fooseball table (which was listed) 8) Did not have basic kitchen utensils: No can opener, colander, baking pan, ice cube trays, and only one skillet On top of that, the owners were really difficult to get a hold of prior to check in. We had booked Thurs - Sunday. After I left many voicemails, emails and text messages, I didn't get an email with the lock code and check-in instructions until 9pm Wednesday. Unacceptable. It was very frustrating and unprofessional. I usually book my cabins through third parties. After this experience, I will definitely stick to third parties. I have no doubt the owners have good intentions, but this is a business they are running, not a charity. Step up your game. I would not recommend this property to anyone because of my experience. Two stars because of the price and location.

  Owner response: We are sorry to hear things were not as you were expecting. The home was fully equipped as vacation rental and we try our best to make sure that we replaced missing items. We have changed cleaning services since this complaint and many missing items have been replaced. This is seasonal vacation rental an in no way are we trying to compare to a hotel. In regards to the thin walls the construction is from the 1980’s and it was built with thick wood beams for the upstairs sections and we do not have control over the walls being to thin and no way to insulate the wood beams to prevent the noise. The client was sent an email with the check in instructions prior to and was instructed that they would be emailed. The kitchen has always been equipped with frying pan, skillet, pots and utensils. All items are kept in the kitchen cabinets, if the guest would have looked in the interior of the cabinets they would located all items that they needed. Items get switched around during high season and we have no control if they are on the right or left side of the cabinets located with in the kitchen. The dish soap is kept under the sink. The soaps are supplied by cleaning crew they are small sample soaps similar to the ones used in hotels. The waste baskets are kept one in each bathroom and one in the kitchen. The extra towels are kept in the hallway closet, the guest over booked but could have opened the closet and found extra towels for their use. We do our best to keep the home ready for guest and this is one of the first times we have a guest with many issues.

  The house itself was nice...however certain lights do not turn on (Garage, patio). Bathroom slide glass fell off and almost hurt someone. I personally would've rated this higher, but trying to contact the owner/or whoever is in charge of this place was a pain in the butt. Wouldn't return any of my emails or phone calls for my deposit back. It wasn't until I sent a text to the owner telling him that I'll file a claim with Paypal if he doesn't return my deposit money, that he called me back. Very un-professional, said he thought he had someone on it. UN-ACCEPTABLE.

  Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, families with young children, families with teenagers.

  Owner response: We appreciate the comments and concerns that the guest provide us and we will do our best to respond to them on a timely manner. In regards to the lights not working in the bedrooms, the situation is that guest tends to move the lamps around and as we all know that many properties have electrical outlets that have one section that functions with the switches. The lights do work if they are plugged to the corresponding switch socket. The property has instruction with the managements contact information if the guest tries to contact the owner directly it could be a little difficult to do so, but this is why we have instructions posted on the property to avoid these issues. The check out instructions explained that the security deposit will not be returned until the cleaning crew has sent over the inspection report. The processing time is one to two weeks after check out. We always request the guest to email us after check out and let us know how their stay was and verify that nothing has changed from when they booked so we don’t have any delays in refunding their deposits. We did apologize regarding the bathroom shower door; unfortunately if the door gets pushed and slammed it will come loose like any other glass sliding door. The door was re-installed and secured.

  It was the greatest experienced the home is well furnished and my entire friends and family of 12 enjoyed our winter stay. The Big Bear home is near the ski areas, town and the lake. I hope to make it back in the summer perhaps on the 4th of July to enjoy the lake that is very close by.

  Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with teenagers.
