A twin-sized sofa bed is in the living room to accomodate a 7th person. The closet just outside the powder room contains a large collection of games, puzzles, videos, and books for your enjoyment. Relax on the deck with your loved ones, as you watch birds, deer, and squirrels in the surrounding woods.

We can't praise this villa enough. It truly is a home away from home. The owners clearly use the property themselves and have furnished it with every possible comfort from the sugar and salt to the excellent appliances, wine glasses, attractive dishes, high quality pots and pans, and a variety of games and books to satisfy anyone. There is wi fi and cable and tvs galore for those who appreciate such technology and comfy sofas and chairs for those who just want to relax and enjoy getting away. We have stayed here twice and, after experiencing at least eight other Kiawah properties, would always choose to check the availability of this property first. It is in a lovely setting and a brief three minute walk to the beach (even with a four year old!). We love the open floor plan for the living room, dining room and kitchen, and the convenience of a powder room on that level. The bedrooms are roomy, the beds comfy, and the bathrooms up to date. The owners are friendly and helpful in every way, happy to answer any questions and provide information about Kiawah. We would recommend this property to our own family and friends, and, in fact, it was highly recommended to us by friends of ours who stay here often.

Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

Our family of 5 spent spring break at Kiawah Island. We had a wonderful time. Our Villa was nicely decorated and the kitchen had everything we needed. It was also conveniently located on the island to reach the beach, bike ride, and drive out for other tourist destinations. It was perfectly clean and stocked with supplies. The owner was well organized, answered questions promptly and was probably the most helpful I have ever dealt with, THANKS!! Kiawah is a great place for a family vacation. We toured the USS Yorktown, Fort Sumter, Historic Charleston and Draytown Hall Plantation. But in the end, all three kids voted that bike riding on the island was their favorite thing to do. We barely made a dent in the 30 miles of wide, well maintained bike trails. We brought some of our own bikes but were impressed that Kiawah Island Bikes delivered and picked up an additional bike to our door for only $45 for the week. Bike riding on the beach was a fun novelty. We biked to Fresh Fields Village several times and one day had a terrific lunch at the soda fountain/pharmacy. The grocery store there was wonderful, you can get anything you need for your stay. They also have awesome food ready for take-out and we did that for dinner a couple of nights. The thing that makes Kiawah stand out is its beautiful tropical vegetation and wildlife. The whole island is beautifully maintained. We saw alligators, turtles, deer, and many types of water birds. Even the golf courses were pretty, and my husband has mentioned going back...bringing his clubs. The weather was a little cool for the beach the week we were there but we found plenty to do. We would love to go back.

Owner response: Thanks so much for this wonderful review! One of the reasons I enjoy renting on our own is the personal contact we have with our renters. I am happy to answer any questions or make suggestions for things to do, places to eat, etc. We're glad you enjoyed your stay at our villa!

We stayed in this lovely villa on Kiawah Island for 2 gloriously magical weeks. There were 8 of us, counting all the family members that came and went during that time, and we had plenty of space and were all very comfortable. There was so much we loved about the location, but foremost was its close and easy walk to the beach. The walk often held sweet surprises, too, like a doe and her two fawns that walked leisurely ahead of us on the path one afternoon and more deer feeding on the dunes at dusk later. The dune lined beach is beautiful and well preserved. From the beach we saw live starfish washed ashore, dolphins strand feeding in the Inlet and hatched baby Loggerhead turtles heading out to sea. We went on a gator hunt one day and spotted more than ten gators up close! We enjoyed car drives around the Island taking in the beautiful sights such as; gardens, private residential homes, golf courses, parks and other beaches. The bike rides were the most memorable though. We rented 4 bikes from Alligator Bicycle Rentals and we were very pleased with their quick service, the condition of the bikes, and the ease of the riding of the bikes. We ranged in age from 16 to 64 and none of us had ridden in years, but they were so easy to pedal! We took in many sights we would not have seen otherwise while out on our expeditions. What a joy! The exercise was good because we ate well while on the Island. A family favorite was Red's Icehouse at the Bohicket Marina. My husband got the all you can eat crab legs; I'm pretty sure he broke his personal best record! We were seated by the window overlooking the water and saw a beautiful sunset. We got breakfast once in the Straw Market Shopping center. It was pricey, but good. We hit both of the bar-b-que places, one in Osprey Point (where the best gator sighting takes place!) Ask to sit outside on the deck, and you'll likely see several gators exit the pond and sunbathe on the grassy area below. The other barbeque is near Seabrook Island and they do take outs. But, our favorite restaurants are in Charleston. Our recommendations are: Hyman's Seafood, Poogan's Porch, Magnolia's, and any one of the Gellato shops downtown. There's so much to see and do in Charleston. It's an easy 30 min. drive! When we got tired of going, we hung out in the cozy villa. The tv and wifi services were excellent! The kitchen was perfect for meal prep. The villa was stocked with everything we needed. This was a FABULOUS find!

I want to Thank the owners of this beautiful condo for such a fantastic vacation. Our family had a wonderful, much needed family vacation. We have never been to Kiawah Island and found it absolutely beautiful. The Condo was sparkling clean and was so close to the beach. All of us loved riding bikes on the beach and around the island. Morning walks on the beach were very peaceful. Thanks again for such a lovely place to vacation and I would recommend this condo for anyone who wants to have one of their best vacations ever!

                  Year Purchased: 1998

About the owner: Our family has been visiting Kiawah Island since 1987. After vacationing in Florida in 1989, we have returned every year since to the peaceful oasis of Kiawah for our family time together. We realized our dream of purchasing property on Kiawah in 1998. Our villa has become the gathering place for our family and friends where many wonderful memories have been made. One of my favorite things to do at Kiawah is the Turtle Patrol! Endangered loggerhead turtles lay nests on Kiawah from May-August,and the baby turtles hatch from July-October. For the last 5 years, I have volunteered with the Kiawah Island Turtle Patrol, which locates, records data about, and protects the nests and hatchlings in conjunction with the S.C. Department of Natural Resources. If you're awake at dawn some morning, come down to the beach and look for the Turtle Patrollers; we love to educate visitors about our turtles!

Why the Owner Chose Fairway Oaks Villas:
After vacationing at Kiawah for 10 years, we knew there was no other place we wanted to be. We love to walk the beach, search for shells, bike the over 30 miles of bike baths, and view wildlife (like the strand-feeding dolphins in Captain Sam's Inlet, or the bobcat we recently saw in our parking lot). As history buffs, there is no better place for us than Charleston and the surrounding Low Country! We are at peace here like no other place we have ever been. We feel so lucky to have found this villa, which was the perfect size for our family, and so close to the beach!

The Unique Benefits at this Villa:
Our location on Kiawah Island is so convenient! Being in West Beach, we are just a short drive to Freshfields for shopping or Bohicket Marina for taking in the breathtaking sunsets. Enjoy a leisurely stroll to the Straw Market to pick up a newspaper or an ice cream cone. Best of all, you're at the beach after an easy, 3-minute walk! No need to load up your car with beach toys -- in the downstairs closet, you will find a tote full of toys, an umbrella, boogie boards and skimboards! We provide our guests with hand soap, laundry and dishwashing detergent, and linens (but please bring your own beach towels). Should the rare rainy day occur, enjoy your family time with the available games, puzzles, or videos. Our home is your home while you are here!
