Our sweet cabin is a five-minute walk to downtown Twain Harte with shopping, restaurants, and a multitude of happening events. Imagine, you can walk to the golf course,tennis courts, skateboard park, kids park, miniature golf, in just minutes. The calendar of events in the park is unending!!In the winter, want to enjoy the snow at Dodge but stay near restaurants, grocery shopping, Sonora antique shopping, the Casino with its bowling alley, ice skating at Long Barn, and usually no shoveling!! This may be the ideal place for you: Twain Harte!!
We are 12 miles east of Sonora and only 20 miles from Pinecrest Lake and Dodge Ridge Skiing.
Twain Harte Lake, a peaceful, private lake just perfect for swimming, diving, and hanging out on the beach and just a little over a mile from your front door, plus you will be able to enjoy full lake membership privileges, including free swimming lessons in July; check the link for dates. (Fishing at this lake is only for kids 14 and under.) We are 12 miles east of Sonora and only 20 miles from Pinecrest Lake and Dodge Ridge Skiing. The Sacramento Airport is 2 hours away.
Soaring ceilings, knotty pine, cedar, open beams, oak floors, wood stove (wood provided), cabin décor throughout, this is a truly charming cabin. A step back in the past while you enjoy all the modern conveniences: dishwasher, disposal, fully-equipped kitchen, washer and dryer, central heat, swamp cooler, phone and cable TV/VCR/DVD. All this and two full bathrooms, plus a little bunk room that the kids just love.
The first bedroom has a king-size and double-size bed. The second bedroom has a queen-size bed and private bath. It also has a small, adjoining room with two twin beds, just perfect for the kids. One couch in the living room is a futon.

CANCELLATION POLICY:
Cancellations made prior to 30 days before the reservation date are fully refundable less a $25 cancellation fee.
Guests canceling fewer than 30 days in advanced may be responsible for the basic cabin rental fee (no extra person fees, no cleaning fees) if the cabin cannot be rented. If the cabin does rent, there is a $25 cancellation fee only, and it can be used as credit towards your next stay if within one year of cancellation.

We are big fans of Twain Harte Lake and enjoy this cabin's membership. The cabin is so sweet. We walked in the front door and knew it was for us. Vivian loves walking to town, and David likes being close to the shopping center and restaurants while he skis the slopes. Twain Harte is the closest mountain retreat to the Bay Area where we live.

In addition to enjoying the lake with our little boys, we went to Columbia Historic State Park to experience the Old West, ride a stagecoach, and pan for gold. It was great fun. Hi Vivian and David - We just came back from our wonderful vacation and loved staying at your cabin. The girls really liked the little room with the twin beds!! We packed so much into our time in Twain Harte, just loved the town. I have read so many reviews from others stating how nice the people are in this town and thought, yeah right, but as so many stated, the people of Twain Harte are so nice and helpful. Let's see, we started off by touring California Cavern and Mercer Cavern. (California Cavern was our favorite of the caverns we toured, highly recommended) The next day we went rafting down the Stanislaus River from Knights Ferry. HIGHLY recommend using the River Journey Company (800) 292-2938 or (209) 847-4671. The price was unbelievable ($21 per person), for $84 we spent 5 hours on the river, floating, swimming, and eating! We made note of it in your comment book for other guests, but just in case anyone asks, it's a great day adventure for all ages. The next day we were off to Moaning Cavern and Columbia State Park. Finally, Friday a relaxing day at Pinecrest Lake! That just topped the week off the right way. What a wonderful find you have there in Twain Harte, I can see us returning again. Hi Vivian, I intended to write sooner to tell you we had a fabulous time at the cabin. Everything was perfect. I had hoped to stop by the Strawberry cabin to see you but I couldn't pull the kids away from the Twain Harte Lake. They love Pinecrest, but they REALLY love the Twain Harte Lake. I think it's the sandy beach and the water has less rocks. They also feel more secure with the deep part roped off so they know their limits. The cabin worked great for us. It's a great set up. Plenty of room for us yet still cozy enough the way it's set up. It's like a 2nd home for us now! Wasn't the weather beautiful?? We rented a boat at Pinecrest 1 day and also, had some friends up there who have a bigger motor boat. Took a boatload of kids out with fishing poles and they had a blast! The kids could make a whole vacation out of going to the Twain Harte swimming pool & the private lake! I'll have to wait until time gets closer but that's already on my mind. We may do 2 trips next summer. We usually do a trip to Monterey in the summer but we get so much more out of the Pinecrest area. Thanks again for your hospitality!! Judy

Horse trecking up at Kennedy Meadow...Tilly (6) loved it. And the lake is beautiful and nice and safe for the kids. Thank you for leting us stay at your sweet cabin in the woods! We had a relaxing week, and our dog was thrilled to be taken on "vacation". She enjoyed her time exploring and playing in the outdoors. Greetings Vivian! We are back to the coast after a very relaxing and delightful week-end at the cabin in Twain Harte. Everything with regard to the cabin was perfect, comfortable, and so easy..we couldn't have been more pleased! We were very impressed with the town, the Twain Harte market our friends own and the luncheon barbeque! We spent Saturday evening at the "Twain Harte a la Carte". This is an annual fund raiser by the Soroptimists of Twain Harte with wine-tasting, incredible food, silent and live auction and live jazz. It was great fun...time well spent! All the best, Merideth
