This Flathead Lake property is located in a friendly, family oriented private neighborhood with stunning lake and mountain views. It is just a short walk to the private boat dock and beach. The house is mostly child-proofed for safety, and includes a Bellini crib and Pali change table. There is a big fenced-in back yard with lots of trees and shaded areas, a Little Tikes play set and small baby pool. The house also includes booster chairs and a few baby toys.
The large front deck is partially covered and has a fire pit table with comfortable seating, making it the perfect outdoor setting any time of day. You can enjoy a cup of coffee while watching the sun rise over the mountains and lake, and stay cool in the covered shade in the afternoon and evening. Being a short walk from the lake means you do not have the noise of the lake activity. There is also a second side deck and fenced back yard.
The house has an open floor plan so you can enjoy the views out the large picture window from the kitchen, dining room or the living room. The front deck can be accessed through the master bedroom or from the main living area. There is also a side deck off the dining room. There is a powder room and a coffee nook off the main living area. The master suite has a king sized bed, a large window and sliding glass doors out to the deck with views of the lake and mountains, a walk in closet and master bathroom with a walk in shower and soaker tub.
The second bedroom is downstairs and has a private bathroom. It is quite large, as it used to be two bedrooms but the separating wall was removed, so there are two closets. There is a queen size bed and a full size hide-away bed. There is also a downstairs office with a queen size air mattress. The downstairs bathroom has a walk in shower. The laundry room is downstairs and has a large capacity Maytag Bravos washer and steam dryer purchased in 2008.
There are also a full size couch and love seat in the living room for additional sleeping if needed.

Large open family and kitchen area with great views of Flathead lake from both the main living area and master suite. We love the deck off the master suite, what a great place to start and end each day! Our family of 4 has been comfortable here each time we have stayed. Our school aged children loved playing in the back yard, and walking down to the lake. Diana has always taken care of our needs, and keeps a very nice property. Nice neighborhood, family friendly and an easy walk down to the docks. Small local town with some good restaurants, with Kalispell less than 30 minute drive and Glacier NP about than an hour away. We would love to stay again!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

We rented this house for a week in July to attend two weddings in the area. We had a total of 8 people staying in the house including two kids. The property is an exellent location with a beautiful view of Flathead Lake. Below are some pros and cons of staying here: Pros: *Location location location - its perfect. *The deck with the fire table is awesome. *The upstairs kitchen/dining/living room are beautiful and a great place to gather *Quiet neighborhood & a beautiful house *Great view of Flathead & the amazing lightning storms on the other side of the lake *Although it didn't matter for us, the house is pretty baby-proofed and comes with a crib! *The house was clean and had all of the kitchen gadgets we needed. *The kids enjoyed the backyard. *Loved having a washer and dryer in the home. Cons: *Cannot comfortably sleep 8. There is a large master bedroom upstairs that can sleep 2, a queen bed and a smaller (double maybe a twin, I can't remember) bed downstairs that share what used to be a family room so there is minimal privacy.. the landlords provided 1 air bed and we broght our own. Had we not brought our air bed, two people would have been without. *Because of the lack of beds there was also a lack of bedding so we ended up purchasing blankets for the people on the blow up beds. *Not many towels, some were older and very small. *No internet. This was really frustrating beacuse we didn't know our way around and it meant we had to travel down to the middle of town and access the libraries internet. *No television - less of a big deal, but we were there long enough that there were some days it would have been nice to just relax and watch tv. That gives you an idea of the things that we loved and a few things we struggled with. Ultimately, we loved the property and had an amazing time with family there. Diane is extremely warm and friendly and a pleasure to deal with. If we visit the Lakeside area again I would definitely stay in this home again.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: The house is listed to sleep a maximum of 6 people in beds (2 in a king, 2 in a queen, 1 in a full and 1 in a crib). The house has a large master bedroom upstairs with a king size bed and a crib. The downstairs bedroom used to be two bedrooms, but the separating wall was removed to make one very large bedroom. In the downstairs bedroom, there is a queen size bed and a full size bed. There is also a queen size air mattress and a full size couch for additional sleeping. We will no longer take reservations for groups larger than 6. There is still no internet or cable TV service. However, there is a 42" flatscreen TV with a DVD player and a small collection of DVDs, as well as a full selection of DVD rentals at Blacktail Market just two miles away in Lakeside. There are several locations with free WI-fi internet service in the area.

We rented the house for the week of July 4th and had a fantastic stay. The house is great for young children (adults too!), mine had a great time playing in the fully fenced in back yard. The rental home is a short drive away from countless activities in the Flathead Lake area including Glacier National Park. Located in a housing development the shoreline is a short 5 min walk from the front door of the home. The views from the deck are simply amazing at all times, but we particularly enjoyed the cool evenings after the kids went to bed in the downstairs bedroom. I would highly recommend this property to anyone looking to spend quality time in Montana.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

Owner info
Year Purchased: 2007
About the owner: My husband and I were born and raised in Montana. We grew up in a small town in the center of the state. We moved away for college and then spent ten years exploring other parts of the country, living in Washington, L.A., Boston and Phoenix. We realized we were using all of our vacation time to come back to Montana, and that is where we really wanted to be. So in 2007 we moved to the Flathead, and in 2009 we started a family. We now have two inquisitive and mischievous little boys who are our life! We love to be on the lake, go fishing, camping and hiking.
Why the Owner Chose Lakeside:
Growing up in rural central Montana, Flathead Lake always seemed like Montana's paradise. We looked at 50 houses in Lakeside, Whitefish and Bigfork before choosing this property. It was dated and needed some work, but the views and location are incredible! We remodeled and updated the house from top to bottom, making it our perfect lake retreat.
This is a family friendly neighborhood and town with great places to walk, jog or bike. The people in Lakeside and Somers are wonderful. And the local restaurants are some of the best in the area, drawing crowds from all over Montana and even from Canada! Lakeside does not get as crowded and overwhelmed during the summer as Bigfork and Whitefish, making it easier to enjoy the area.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
This property has a private boat slip, so you do not have to pull your boat out of the water every night. There is also a private launch so you do not have to wait in line at the public boat launch when you want to get out on the water. I love taking my boys down to the neighborhood beach, or for a walk in the stroller on the paths around the lake and through the nearby cherry orchard. My kids love to play on the play set in the fenced back yard. It is just a short drive to all of the area's amenities: Glacier Park, Blacktail Mountain Ski Resort, Tamarack Brewery, Mission Mountain Winery, Bigfork Summer Playhouse, and more.
