We stay three nights at Ramsey Roost and loved every minute of it. The home is lovely, roomy, with huge windows to linger with a relaxing beverage and watch the comings and goings of many different species of birds. Once the last rays of the sun finally leave the bright and cheerful rooms, it's great to fix a meal in the big kitchen, then light a fire in the fireplace. The property is minutes away from endless hiking and cycling in the beautiful mountains and canyon lands, yet very accessible to the conveniences of the city. It's a great base to explore the surrounding areas as well. Very private, very quiet, altogether an excellent stay.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, people with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

Southwest Wings Birdinga and Nature Festival rented this property to house its keynote speaker and four members of a wildlife rehabilitation team from Phoenix who were exhibiting live birds at the festival. They stayed for three nights and reported that they thoroughly enjoyed their stay. The accommodations were comfortable, spacious and clean. Ramsey Canyon is on a flyway for migrating birds in April-May and August. At Ramsey Roost birders are within easy driving or hiking distance of The Nature Conservancy's Ramsey Canyon Preserve, which has a hummingbird and butterfly garden as well as trails that intersect with an extensive system of hiking trails in the Huachuca Mountains (Coronado National Forest). The house is also just 7 miles from the San Pedro Riparian National Conservaton Area, where birding is excellent. The home's spacious backyard is good birding spot in its own right.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children.
