Ready for winter magic, Bears Escape Cabin is just a 10 minute drive from Gatlinburg's Winter Wonderland Festival activities with music, street performers, venders, arts and crafts, food, light displays, huge Christmas tree, and more.. Festival runs Nov-Feb.
The cabin is also within a 10 minute drive to 3 rivers great for swimming, wading, frog hunting, or just sitting on a rock relaxing. Close to the national park where there are many waterfalls some with reflective pools to swim in. If your looking for Spring and Summer Fun book Bears Escape now.
This cabin's location is prime. You will be minutes away from the attractions of Gatlinburg:
Explore great Gatlinburg attractions at one of its unique museums, craftsmen fair, miniature golf courses, water parks, motion simulators and Go-Karts or bumper cars. Check out one of the nation's best aquariums, Ripley's Aquarium of the Smokies. The Gatlinburg Ripley's also features mini golf, haunted adventures, mirror maze, a moving theater, a fun zone and, of course, the famous Ripley's Believe it or Not Museum. Gatlinburg is also known for its Golf, specialty shops, restaurants, Whitewater Rafting, biking, hiking, and Canopy zip lines.
Or adventure out on one of the many amazing hikes in Smokey Mountain National Forest, here you will find true serenity.
Bear's Escape Cabin is also minutes away from Pigeon Forge:
Here you can enjoy a day at Dollywood. Or one of the many other activities found in Pigeon Forge, such as water parks, Titanic Museum, Wonder Works, Magic Quest, miniature golf, go karts, fairs, dinner theater shows, shopping outlets, and pancake houses galore.
Bears Escape Cabin is a great location to try out Dollywood — This year open the first winged roller coaster in the country. The ride, which opened in April, delivers a heart-stopping twist on regular roller-coaster seats. Seats jut out on either side of the track, so have nothing above or below them but air — giving them a real sensation of flying as they scream at more than 60 mph through four inversions and a zero-gravity roll. Of course, the 200-foot-high coaster’s cars are built to look like the national bird.
Some of our favorite hikes are:
Mingo Falls is on the Cherokee Indian Reservation (Qualla Boundary), just outside Great Smoky Mountains National Park. No special permits are required for access to the reservation. At 120 feet tall, the waterfall is one of the tallest and most spectacular in the southern Appalachians. The hike to the waterfall is only 0.4 miles in length, but is considered moderate in difficulty. Access Trail: Pigeon Creek Trail Trailhead: From Oconaluftee Visitor Center, drive south (toward Cherokee) on US-441 and take the second left onto Big Cove Road. At the first stop sign turn left and drive 4.5 miles to Mingo Falls Campground, where the trail begins.
Juney Whank Falls
Juney Whank Falls is divided into an upper and lower section. Both can be viewed from the footbridge which crosses Juney Whank Branch at the falls. Together they drop 90 feet from top to bottom. The trail to the waterfall is 0.8 miles roundtrip and is considered moderate in difficulty.
Trillium Gap Trail meanders through an old-growth hemlock forest and actually runs behind the 25 foot high waterfall. The cool, moist environment near the falls is ideal for salamanders and summer hikers. The hike is 3 miles roundtrip and considered moderate Trailhead: From the parkway in Gatlinburg, turn at traffic light #8 and follow Historic Nature Trail into Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Take Roaring Fork Motor Nature Trail to stop #5 where there is a large parking area. This one is close and absolutely beautiful. I last hiked it with my 60 year old mother and 4 nieces and nephews ranging in age from 3-11 years old. We saw 3 bears at a distant, swam in the reflective pool of the falls, and had a fun-filled day without over doing it.

This cabin is so NICE, even better than the pictures. Beautiful inside and out, lots of things to do, seclude spot, nice mountian view, was close to town. We spent two days just enjoying the cabin's game room, hot tub, comfy sofa, and big flat screen tv. Love this cabin. The third day we went to the indoor waterpark that is just a 5 minute drive from cabin and then we went out to dinner downtown. We will be back.

We spent a 4 day holiday at this cabin and loved it. The cabin was clean and beautiful. It was warm and comfortable. We had so much fun. We went tubing at Ober which was my son's first time in the snow. I highly recommend this area to visit and this cabin to stay for a fun holiday.

Fun and Relaxing
Fun and Relaxing
This cabin was AWESOME. It is setup with the perfect balance of fun and relaxation. We had so much fun in the gameroom and exploring through the woods behind the cabin. And then we felt so relaxed after enjoying the hottub and sitting in the rockers consumed with fresh air and nature's beauty. The cabin was clean, comfortable, and stacked with cool things to do. Plus it is in a great location. We final found our "go-to spot"!

Manager response: We are so glad you enjoyed. We look forward to having you back. If you enjoyed the back deck relaxation you should try to visit during each season. Each season has it own beauty and it is amazing!
My husband and I choose this cabin for our honeymoon and we were not sorry at all! This is by far the best cabin I have ever stayed in the Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg area. It is super close and right in the middle of Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg (just a little closer to Gatlinburg prob) This cabin had it all and plenty to do. I love how private the cabin is as well. Its not like those resort communities where the cabins are on top of each other. Tip, for future travelers, if you use the spa shower downstairs, make sure you run the water first before you getting in to get out all the cold water LOL. We plan on making this cabin a regular anniversary spot as well. The owner is wonderful to work with. The hot tub blew a fuse while we were there, and the owner had it fixed that day! We were able to go to a show and by the time we came back to the cabin, we were able to relax in the hot tub. The bear decor is so gorgeous as well as all the intricate detail in the woodwork. The kitchen is well stocked and had everything that I could ask for. The lotions and bath salts for use was a wonderful touch as well as the plush robes. There was plenty of laundry detergent so we were able to wash towels as needed. Games/Movies/Books everything was there! I can't wait to come back during the summer months and enjoy the deck to the full potential. Also, if you want to go into Gatlinburg/Pigeon for the day, the welcome center and the trolley pick up is right off of the mountain so you don't have to worry about traffic and driving! Any future winter travelers, we picked the slowest week of the year to go. The week before Christmas has all the wonderful lights and its super slow, great service no lines and awesome seats.

Our 2013 Smokey Mountain Vacation
Our 2013 Smokey Mountain Vacation
This was the first time I had taken my family to the Gatlinburg area for a vacation. This cabin met and exceeded all of my expectations. The location of the cabin was great, right between Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. We had complete privacy in the hot tub on the deck. My wife loved the oversized, jetted bathtub in the master bedroom, this was a great surprise. The cabin is decorated well and is very comfortable. This cabin definitely has the “wow” factor. I’ve already recommended Bears Escape to some of my buddies who have been thinking of taking their families over to Gatlinburg. Dorothy is absolutely the best to do business with. We had great communications before, during and after the rental.

Manager response: Glad you enjoyed your stay. Thanks for recommending Bear Escape Cabin to your friends.
This was a magical getaway. The cabin was perfect. Very clean and beautifully decorated on the inside. It was a true winter mountain experience. We went skiing during the day then came back to this luxurious cabin to thaw out in the hotub and then curl up in front of the fire. The cabin even had a fireplace in the bedroom for a romantic night. The value wass good, much better than other places we have stayed. And the owner was a delight to work with. Highly recommend.

Good Cabin Needs Cleaned
Good Cabin Needs Cleaned
First of all, I would like to say the owners were pleasant and easy to work with. I was surprised of the condition I found the cabin in after reading all of the good reviews. We arrived late in the evening of our check in date and found the cabin in need of a good cleaning. The bed room sheets had not been changed and the floors were not cleaned. There were a set of sheets, towel, and a wash cloth left in the dryer, which we thought was also odd. There were food particles on both floors of the cabin and the steps. Before going to bed we washed our own sheets and swept up. I took pictures and emailed them to the owner right away. The owner was responsive and offered to send the cleaning company back, but we had already taken care of the problem. I was told the normal cleaning person was off for the holidays and the company had sent someone different. The light/flame in the downstairs electric fireplace was also out, but it did produce heat. The cabin would have been a great stay and I would have given it 4 or 5 stars if it had been cleaned. I would not say the experience was what I paid for and I can also say we left the cabin in better condition than we found it.

We love this cabin. This was our second time staying here. We continue to come back because it is the perfect setting and ammenities. We love the porch swing and rockers on the secluded back decks. We also enjoy the billards and pool table. The cabin is clean and the furniture is comfortable. We will continue to stay here every year.
