Tamarisk West condo description
Was it Krisel, Alexander or maybe Wexler? The records are lost but Tamarisk West has the look and feel of the best architects and designers working in Palm Springs in the 50’s and 60’s. The rooms are spacious ceilings are high and there is ample use of natural light throughout. Furnishings in the condo are authentic to the period while appointments have been updated for contemporary lifestyles. It’s simple, tasteful and comfortable.
There’s a spectacular 180 view of the San Jacinto Mountains from the floor to ceiling sliding doors in the Living Room and the guest bedroom. Watch the sun rise in the morning and enjoy evening sunsets.
The master bedroom suite looks out on a screened private patio with mature desert plantings. Open the patio door, step outside and, season permitting, pick some fresh citrus fruit for your breakfast. The bedrooms are separated and provide maximum privacy. Both have in-suite bathrooms and both have separate walk-in closets.
If you enjoy golf there are enough public courses to keep you busy all season and many are no more than a 10 minute drive away. The condo boasts two large pools so take your pick. Nearby grocery shopping ranges from high end Bristol Farms to everyday stores like Vons and don’t forget to try Trader Joe’s --there are 2 nearby. Whole Foods is opening their first store in early 2014.
Whether you’re in the mood to check the latest fashions at Saks or find out what’s new at the Apple Store, make sure to take a stroll down El Paseo. Sports, shopping or just relaxing all are a short drive away.

- Rancho Mirage is one of the most beautiful areas in Palm Springs. It combines private residences with exclusive golf courses and condo communities. It's convenient to Palm Desert Shopping areas that range from all the 'Big Box' stores to exclusive shops on El Paseo. There are plenty of nearby grocery stores--Pavilion's, Bristol Farms and Von's as well as more restaurants than you will have time to try. And of course, Trader Joe's....moreless

Home away from home
A beauifully decorated house with great views of the mountains and designed around a large screened in courtyard. The courtyard was great for barbequeing with friends. The designs in the house reminded me of being in Palm Springs during the 1960s. Its built in an upscale community with 2 pools and several tennis courts. I found a couple hiking trails within walking distance. Its located in between Indian Wells and Palm Springs with many golf courses and shopping centers only a short drive away. Even though I was here in the middle of the summer I had a great time.

Amazing place for a get away!
Amazing place for a get away!
My family and I took a trip here in November and had a spectacular time! The mid century modern architecture with floor to ceiling windows allows you to fully enjoy the beauty of the dessert with spectacular mount vistas and palm trees in the vista. The pool and hot tub are a great way to rest, relax and get a way from it all. The house is impeccably decorated with great mid century modern furniture, art and pottery...if you wish your life looked and felt a little more like Mad Men this is the place for you! We couldn't have asked for a better place to enjoy the dessert in. We will definitely be returning!

About: We live in NYC and fell in love with the desert on our first visit years ago. You can't beat the light, the air and the overall ambience. We are modern furniture collectors and when we saw Tamarisk West we knew we wanted to own something there. We have tried to stay faithful to the period and consider this a work in progress.
Why Tamarisk West:
Our condo is one of 22 built around a figure 8 with two pools in the middle. It has a intimate feel and there isn't a bad view. The landscaping is lush and citrus fruit trees are abundant--there's an orange, kumquat, and grapefruit tree right outside the rear patio door. The architecture looks like Krisel but has never been authenticated.
The Unique Benefits at this Condo:
The view from the condo is one of the best in the complex---it's a full 180 degrees. Honestly you could spend the day just looking out the front patio doors at the mountains. The condo has a spacious feel with high ceilings in the living/dining area. The closet space is abundant. The condo is designed so that the two bedrooms are very separate and afford maximum privace.
