Stayed here with my family last month. The open plan makes for a truly remarkable experience. You can hear monkeys and the ocean at the same time. It's also much closer to the water than the pictures suggest. It's right there past the trees. best part is the beach is basically private as there's no public access nearby and only one neighbor. We're definitely coming back next year. Great house, great area.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, age 55+.

About the owner: I built this house with my parents in 1994. We moved to Mal Pais from California and never looked back. I married a local girl and now have a daughter of my own. My wife and I own and operate Marys Restaurant / Organic Farm just 50mts down the road.

Surfing and swimming, fishing and tide pools, the ocean is an integral part of daily life. The house is also bordered by a stream- wildlife is everywhere, monkeys, birds, parrots, iguanas, etc.. Across the street is Marys Organic Farm!
