This condo at the Shores was perfect for our month on the Big Island. The kitchen was fun to cook in and the lanai always had a lovely breeze to cool us off in the hotter part of the day. The beds were extremely comfortable and the big showers were great. We were surprised at how quiet this complex is considering it looked like it was full. Simon was great to deal with and sincerely cared about us having a great time. I would recommend this condo to anyone and we would love to stay here again someday. Thanks so much Simon and SusieRecommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

A comfortable roomy floor plan, new furniture and fixtures, and conscientious and responsive owners and housekeeper. The Shores is an older development with all the advantages thereof: quiet and away from the congestion of the larger resort, well designed and nicely maintained, with several features that don't exist in newer developments: elevators, huge lanais, and openable windows on all 4 sides for good air flow. We used the A/C once in 3 weeks. Windows and doors are relatively easy to open, compared to some new developments where you need to be a weightlifter. :-) It's convenient that you don't need to close everything each time you leave because you're on the 3rd floor. Orientation is to the southwest, so the lanai is in the shade in the morning and partly sunny in the afternoon. The master bedroom gets warm during the day; it's helpful to shut windows and blinds in that room during the day. The pool has been retiled in the last few years and is beautiful. No individual outside grill; you walk about a block to a shared outdoor grill area. All in all, a very good place to stay. Thank you to Simon and Susie and Leanna.Recommended for: Age 55+, people with disabilities, sightseeing.

First, this condo is located in a very good premium area on Big Island. It is only 17 miles north of Kona Airport. The nicest beaches are on this side of the Island. The condo was very nice, clean and confortable. The kids had their room with bathroom and mom and dad had their own separate room with bathroom (wonderful) just like at home. We did not step on each others foots. It is very important to have a car when you visit Big Island (so much to see and do: Luau dinner show, beaches, snorkling, volcano park, Mauna Kea mountain to see the stars like in a planeterium are some of the activities we did). We walked to Hilton hotel to see the dolphins (10 min walk). In closing, a very nice place to stay with all we need to feel like home but with much more magic ! Thanks Simon and Susie for sharing your little nest in paradise Mahalo Louis, Sophie and the kidsRecommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, sightseeing.

The condo is amazing, clean beautifully decorated, lovely pool, and a perfect location! We are having such a great time we are staying an extra 3 days. What a wonderful way to spend my birthday and Mothers day. We just love it and can't wait to come back next year. Only problem was ice maker- which my husband cleared large chunk of ice and works fine now. Truly an amaxing trip. Thank you Simon!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, tourists without a car, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Happy Birthday Terrie and thank you John for clearing the ice maker. I am so glad you enjoyed yourselves and the facilities. I can't wait to check out Mahukona Beach Park toward Kawaihae for snorkeling which John told me about. I hope you stay again next year. Simon

We had an very good experience, enjoyed the condo with all the personal touches. It was like a second home. The views were beautiful, especially from the lanai. We would recommend this unit and would consider coming back in the future.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, families with teenagers, sightseeing.
Owner response: Thank you John and Claudia. We appreciate your feedback. We will pass on your review to our housekeeper and her crew about the "personal touches". The view from the lanai of the garden and the golf course to the ocean is truly special. We hope to see you back. Simon and Susie

Stop looking at other venues on VRBO, and just go ahead and book this one with confidence. Fantastic location within walking distance to everything including shopping and the beach. Clean, pristine, modern, with the an amazing large lanai! Each bedroom has its own separate washroom. Great kitchen and large living room area. The owners are attentive and respond quickly to emails and requests. As a side note, I am golfer, and while the golf course in Waikoloa is OK, if you have a car drive and play the Mauna Lani South Course instead - incredible stuff. Our favorite beach is Mona Kea, worth the short drive.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.

We stayed at Waikoloa Shores #302 from 16-24 Apr. In one word "wonderful". The hosts have kept the unit very neat and tidy. The location of the condo is very convenient to almost all attractions of the Island. Some of the best beaches are a few drive minutes away so also shopping. Its location is a real plus. The booking was easy and the host are quick to attend to your questions. The description of the condo on the web is true. Condo is jam packed with all necessary amenities for a perfect holiday. Most of the gadgets are new. The host had assured me that I shall not need the air conditioner, and yes we did not need one. The place has a nice breeze all the time. We were pleasantly surprised to find detergents and shampoos/liquid soaps in the condo. There is ample parking right in front of the condo. The elevator was a relief when you are carrying your shoppings and beach gear. We would recommend this condo to a friend and would love to come back someday in future.
