Villa La Dolce Vita with Pool in Aix-En-Provence Countryside
- Minimum stay:N/A

Here is a country villa for your stay in Provence. It is nestled in the secluded countryside, surrounded by a beautiful oak grove for privacy. Facing south to catch optimum sunlight, the architect-designed house has a very large living room (with a grand piano) and wall-to-wall sliding doors that open to an enormous flowered terrace with two outdoor dining areas. The lovely stone stairway leads you down to a flower garden with a swimming pool and a completely-equipped summer kitchen and BBQ.
There are four comfortable bedrooms. The master bedroom is on one wing of the house for privacy, and the three others are grouped next to the terrace with the hot tub. There are three fully-equipped bathrooms (plus an extra WC near the living room, for guests to use). The house faces a valley with a stream: pure French country living at its most delicious.
Local house management: A local, English-speaking house manager can solve problems if they arise.
Location: Villa la Dolce Vita is located 2 km from Eguilles, close to a main departmental highway that connects Aix-en-Provence with Avignon, in the middle of the wine-growing area. It is only a twelve minute drive to Aix-en-Provence, one of France's most pleasant places to live. A convenient bus stop is an easy walk and a one euro ticket gets you to Aix in a few minutes. The villa is also close to the Luberon area, known for the abundant flora and stunning views that made it a favorite location for the Impressionist painters. It is dotted with hiking trails and quaint towns with wonderful restaurants. The closest beach is 30 minutes away near Marseille, a vibrant, sparkling gem on the Mediterranean. There are convenient bus connections to both Aix and Marseille.
There is a gated, private driveway as you enter the property, and no visible neighbors on three sides of the house (two quiet neighbors in the back of the Villa).
Arriving: The TGV (high-speed train) station is a 25 minute drive from the house and Paris is less than 3 hours away. The house manager can pick you up at the train station or airport, prepare a welcome meal, or show you around Provence according to your wishes.
Aix en Provence: Oozing with history and enchanting atmosphere, Aix-en-Provence began life as a Roman settlement fed by the warm springs and was capital of the region for several centuries. Aix was a centre for art and learning in the 15th, it has earned the epithet 'city of a thousand fountains'. The town itself is a jewel of a Provencal town, with an outdoor market open every day of the year and many nationally-renowned restaurants. Stroll down the Cours Mirabeau with its tree-lined promenade, as well as old Aix with the old town hall and Saint-Sauveur cathedral with its cloister. There are over 400 restaurants to choose from, plus annual summer Music Festivals. Open-air vegetable/fruit markets take place once a week in 4 nearby villages, and the famous Aix market (15 minutes away) is open every day of the year.

We LOVED your villa :) It is a very relaxing place to stay. On the 1st Saturday we had friends from Paris for dinner with their 2 kids - the villa easily absorbed 8 adults and 3 kids - so much space. As it was still chilly in the evenings, we lit a fire, so cozy. We spent a couple of pleasant evenings in the hot tub gazing at the stars. We even had a full moon. Unfortunately the weather was too cold for the pool or the BBQ. My 7 year old loved the piano - he practiced his piano lessons while we were there. Sounded great! The master bedroom was perfect for my wheelchair bound brother-in-law. There is a stereo - just bring a laptop or iPod to plug in. Pascal, the local property manager is always available, should any issues or questions arise. He picked us up from and dropped us back to the TGV station in Aix-en-Provence. He is very friendly and helpful. You can even negotiate with him to cook for you if you wish! There is a dishwasher and clothes washer in the Villa. The Villa is only 10kms outside of Aix, down a very quiet lane. It feels very secluded and rural, yet there are bakeries to be found merely 5 minutes drive away! We toured quite a few places - the Villa is very centrally located - most places were only an hours drive away - e.g. Avignon, Arles, Chateauneuf-du-Pape, Orange. Marseille and the coast is even closer. There is an excellent 'Les Routiers' hostelry on the main road, does a 4 course lunch for 15 Euros. We would love to find the time to experience it again during the summer.Recommended for: Sightseeing, people with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children.

Why the Owner Chose Aix en Provence:
Provence is a magic place, and has 300 days a year of sun. Beautiful villages, great food.
The Unique Benefits at this Villa:
Villa la 'Dolce Vita' is very private, no neighbors who can see into the property. Combine that with a country setting, a close-by Aix-en-Provence with lots of culture & restaurants, and the power of nature in the area, and this makes for an ideal place to be.
