I just got back yesterday from one of the best weeks I have ever spent on MV & I already find myself reminiscing about our stay at the Farmhouse. For 3 couples and one other adult we had our challenges to find a house with 3 full size beds. There we so many beds in this house though, we had no problems. We just pushed together two single beds in one room and Voila! Ultimately the rustic feel of this house wont make you feel like you're living in luxury but the simplicity of life without all the bells and whistles is sometimes exactly what the Vineyard is really about. This house is all about the view, the sounds of the ocean & the value relative to homes that are a stones throw away and rent for almost double the price. Just a 10 minute walk to the cliffs and shops at Aquinnah - where the best breakfast - and if there's no fog - the best view - awaits you at the Aquinnah shop restaurant. A must try are the Tomahwak Special and the Blue Corn Belgian Waffle. The best beach on the island - Moshup Beach - is only 15 minutes away on foot. We would typically load up the car with all the necessities - cooler, beach umbrella, chairs, toys - ALL of which were already there in the shed!!! We would drive down and drop off at the boardwalk then send one person to go park. Make sure you take a walk along the cliffs, even though there are a lot of nude sunbathers once you get further down the beach, the cliffs only get more & more beautiful as you continue on. When we would get back to the house, the outdoor shower with a view of the ocean was an oasis in itself. We would then start to prep for dinner, with a monster Weber grill and large outdoor table to seat 8 with views of the ocean, which we could still hear crashing upon the shores. The large yard provided us plenty of space to play anything we wanted - both a tetherball pole and volleyball net were also in the shed. So many amazing memories, so many wonderful beach days - with no need to even go down island into town for anything other than food and beverage supplies. I wish we could have stayed for another week. I certainly will come back here again for many years to come.

After spending many summers as a weekend warrior and a party guest of so many friends I decided it was pay-back time. So, I looked for an up-island property that felt like the island. In my wildest dreams I could never have found such a wonderful home to host this event and be able to invite houseguest's for the quintessential Vineyard Experience. The night of the party happen to be magical. It was a movie set from the extraordinary sunset to the catered dinner, children catching fireflies and watching the shooting stars to the spanning of ages 9 to 90 playing monopoly and scrabble in the living room. The house lent itself and all its charm to this memorable evening and continued throughout the 2 weeks we were there. Some of my guests live in million dollar homes and know the island like the back of their hand yet they walked thru the farm-house kitchen and out onto the deck with a 180 degree ocean view from the Aquinnah lighthouse to as far south as the eye can see and they gasped! I would strongly recommend this comfortable vacation home for those who can appreciate just how special the Vineyard was and take the opportunity to go back in time when life was all about simple pleasures.

One of our favorite vacation spots! A 180 degree view of the ocean; watch the sunrise on one deck and sip a glass of wine to watch the sunset over the lighthouse on the other deck. Very close to beaches and fishing. A short ride into town for a nice dinner and sightseeing. We'll be back!

Great Vacation Home - Cozy Cottage Feel! Will Rent Again!
Great Vacation Home - Cozy Cottage Feel! Will Rent Again!
We stayed at the house in June 2011, and truly can't say enough great things! The water and lighthouse views were breathtaking and the house is a cozy cottage!!! My sister and her family of four stayed with us for a few nights and the kids had a great time at the beach, which was just down the street! The home is set at the top of a hill with plenty of grass for the kids to play! Also, Marie at the rental office was such a pleasure!!
