This is actually more than just a cute cottage on Maui's North Shore. You also have exclusive access to a 4-door Jeep and airport pick-up and drop-off. You are also protecting the natural beauty of Maui because...
'100% OF THE PROCEEDS GO TO A LOCAL NATURE CONSERVATION NONPROFIT'
The owners of the property have offered up their newly remodeled cottage and 2011 Jeep Unlimited as a fundraiser for the American Reef Coalition.
Now on to the cottage...
The cottage is a 2 bedroom, 1 bath private home on a half acre with a full kitchen and laundry room. The master bedroom has its own lanai where you can find an ocean view through the banana palms. There is a covered and attached carport, a separate BBQ area and a fire pit in the sprawling back yard.
Just down the road is an old pineapple cannery that has been renovated and now houses dozens of shops and restaurants. In a few minutes walking time, or seconds by car, you can be at one of 6 restaurants, a gym, a market, a yoga center, post office, doctors office and much more.
You're 7 minutes to the world famous surfing and windsurfing beach of Ho'okipa. Another 5 minutes and you're past the rather unique beach town of Paia and on the nearly mile stretch of flawless sand and gorgeous water at Baldwin Beach. Heading in the other direction, you will find thick jungle where you can hike to waterfalls. You're far away from the congested resorts and yet only 30 minutes to the airport. We'll provide maps and directions to all the best that Maui has to offer.
Beach chairs, boogie boards, ice chest, day packs, camping gear, snorkel gear, all provided.
Keywords: Rural Maui, Tropical, North Shore, Surfing, Windsurfing, Kite Surfing, SCUBA, Beaches, Ocean View, 4-door Jeep. All proceeds go to a local nature conservation nonprofit.

We stayed at the cottage from May 2 to May 9 and had a fantastic time. We were not familiar with Maui, but found the Haiku location to be perfect for all of our adventures. The cottage has everything that was needed, the cooler as well as the beach towels and snorkel equipment were with us every day. The Jeep was perfect for the Road to Hana. Haiku is a wonderful little town - Colleen's, Wayne's Sushi, and the "Magic Bus" are great restaurants and within walking distance. Also the market is nice for picking up some nice wine and snacks. Over all one of our very best vacations,Thanks Terry and Jennifer!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, age 55+, girls getaway.

We stayed on this property for 5 nights and it was absolutely perfect. Close to everything we needed. Jenn and Terry were helpful with directions, places to visit, places to eat, etc. We will recommend their property to our friends who plan on visiting Maui and we will be back also.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children.

We enjoyed Christmas in East Maui. Freshly picked fruit and beautiful poinsettias greeted us at our clean, comfortable cottage. The location worked perfectly for drives to Hana and Kehie. Sunrises from the lanai were particularly spectacular. It was great to have a vehicle to use as well as access to water "toys".Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, people with disabilities, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

Really great house that is just as described. The house was clean, well stocked with anything you need for cooking and overall a great place to stay. The Jeep was awesome to have for getting around. Jenn and Terry were extremely friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend staying here. Price was very reasonable, especially considering that you don't have to rent a car on top of paying for lodging. Thanks Jenn & Terry!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, families with young children, girls getaway.

This a fantastic cottage in a great location. From Haiku you can launch to any part of the island. Many people come to Maui and head straight to Kihei, Lahaina or Wailea and never really "see" the island. Haiku and Mokawoa are definitely the best climate on the island and are not choked with tourists. The local beaches are outstanding and Haleakala and Hana are reasonable day trips. The Jeep is in really great shape and comfortably accommodates five adults (we had three six footers in the back seat for some long trips with no problems) and gear. The cottage is clean, modern, well equipped and the back yard is spacious and private. If you are looking for a great base of operations and a welcoming "home away from home" this rental is a great choice. Be sure to stop at Hanzawa's on the Kaupakalua Road for a great counter lunch and if you head to Hana be sure to go to the Kahanu State Botanical Garden and hit Bruddas on the road out of Hana for the plate lunch of your lifetime.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children.

We stayed for 5 nights at the cottage and it was nothing but incredible! The place was beautiful, clean with an amazing breeze flowing though the cottage. We dealt with Jenn on everything, she was extremely nice and helpful, down to Earth and a really good person with awesome info on neat things to do. She also gave us advice on the towns, and wildlife including history of anything we asked about. She let me use her office when I lost my hotel papers for our next stop in Lahaina, so nice of her. I would highly recommend staying in Haiku, in this cottage. When we come back, we are staying there for sure! By the way, the Jeep.....was much more than we expected, a great vehicle, and perfect for our drive to the top of Haleakala for sunrise and our trip to Hana on the highway. We used their snorkel gear and beach chairs a few times too. Seriously, what a great trip and I am so happy someone recommended checking out VRBO.com where we stumbled upon this gem in the lush rainforest of Hawaii. It rains a little bit there...but that rain feels so good and it is gone as fast as it comes. Jenn and Terry are nothing but professional and helpful, they didn't bother us or pester AT ALL!!! They were a huge help for an awesome stay on Maui, you can tell they really love where they live and it was deeply appreciated! I never got an American Reef Organization sticker...I forgot to ask! Dang it. Go there, enjoy it, you'll never forget Haiku and Maui.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, people with disabilities, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

We stayed here for 1 week and the cottage is so adorable. It has everything you need and then some. We had a great time in Haiku,Paia, and Baldwin Beach. There are also a handful of restaurants in walking distance to the cottage. There were also beach chair, towels and boogey boards for us to use and we did use them! One of the greatest parts about this VRBO listing is the Jeep that comes with it. A new 4 door Jeep Wrangler and we just had a blast using it around the island. It really is the best way to see Maui. Also, Jen and Terry come and pick you up from the airport and then drop you back off again. They are such a sweet and nice couple and it was a pleasure dealing with them. This is really one of the best deals around and it's nice that all the money goes to a good cause.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, people with disabilities, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

I have been going to Maui for as long as I can remember and this is by far the best place I have stayed. It was just far enough away from the tourist but close enough to the beach and walking distance to the restaurants. It was nice to have your own house with kitchen, washer/dryer and private lanai. Having a Jeep was nice because it made going to the beach and hiking easy. Loved being able to walk to local restaurants night and not have to deal with the typical tourist scene. Our favorite day was spending the day with the American Reef Coalition on their boat doing ocean cleanup and learning about ocean conservation. Our 9 year old daughter loved it and had the best time learning from the American Reef Coalition Team.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, people with disabilities, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.
