Come to the west end of beautiful Ocean Isle Beach and relax in the laid-back atmosphere of the Keys, sit on our deck overlooking the lagoon filled with turtles basking in the sunshine. Take a short walk to the beach and head to the west end of the island, where you'll find the wide white sandy beaches, where pools form at low tide, perfect for wading, playing, and contemplating life. Stroll back along the sound side, where you'll see the most gorgeous sunsets. Walk to The Isles, the beachfront restaurant for a cocktail or fine dining. This is the relaxing vacation you've been waiting for!
Our beach house is located in Island Park Cottages, a private gated sound-front community on the beautiful west end of Ocean Isle Beach, just a five minute walk to the beach and a few steps from the sound. Island Park Cottages has two swimming pools, tennis courts, and two community docks. This neighborhood is very family friendly, and the streets are perfect for biking, roller blading, and scootering.
"Turtle Key" has four bedrooms: the Fontana room, the Palm room, and the Ocean Isle room (each with a queen bed), the Regatta room (two twins), and three baths (one down two up). Our main living area is decorated in the 'Key West' style. The kitchen is fully stocked with all the amenities of home. We have three decks, one front deck, the large back deck with lounge chairs and rocking chairs overlooking the lagoon and with a view of the sound, and the lower deck, a great place to relax in the shade on adirondack chairs, nap in a hammock, or dine at the picnic table. Wash the sand off in our large outdoor shower!
Ocean Isle is a wonderful quiet beach for families with one fishing pier and a few restaurants on the island, and with many more close by. The town of Shallotte is 15 minutes away, with restaurants and Coastal Cinemas Ten. We're just a 15 minute drive to Calabash, 45 minutes to Wilmington, 30 minutes to North Myrtle Beach (Barefoot Landing, Tanger Outlets and more), 45 minutes to Myrtle Beach (Broadway at the Beach, the Aquarium) and close to dozens of fine golf courses (ask us to recommend our favorites!).

Our family has enjoyed staying at Turtle Key at Ocean Isle Beach many times over the last 5 years. Every visit is like going to an oasis. The house is warm and inviting - the pictures do not do it justice - and the owners keep adding new pieces each year. Even if we have to ask about the property, the owners are quick to follow up. It's close to the ocean, just a short walk, and waking up to the sounds of the lake is so refreshing in the summertime. The restaurant at the pier is a great lunchtime option for taking time out of the sun, and Sugar Shack just over the bridge is fun for dinner. Make reservations or wait a long time for a table! We love staying at Turtle Key and will continue to vacation here as long as possible!
Recommended for:Girls getaway, families with young children, romantic getaway, families with teenagers.

For several summers we have had the wonderful opportunity to enjoy Turtle Key. This house has indeed become much more than a place to stay; it's now thought of as our second home, and with good reason. Turtle Key is very well appointed and well decorated. All of the furniture { especially the beds and the 'Big Chair"} are in excellent condition and very comfortable. The kitchen is very well stocked with top-notch equipment. The lagoon in back has excellent fishing- don't miss the chance to feed the houses namesake turtles! { Buy a couple bags of oyster crackers-they love them}. This summer we had the opportunity to buy our own place on Ocean Isle, and in so doing looked at several properties, including other houses within Island Park. Quite frankly we were spoiled, as our measuring stick was Turtle Key. Although we saw several nice houses, none of them really compared to Turtle Key in terms of cleanliness, updates, furnishings or design. This home is far and away the nicest house we know of in Island Park, so if you want to stay in the perfect house on a perfect island, do yourself a favor and try to book Turtle Key.

Turtle Key exceeded expectations! Everything you need for a fantastic vacation. Short walk to the fabulous beach. Exceptionally clean and maintained house. The owners were a delight to work with! Beautiful and never crowded community pool. Would definitely recommend this property.
