Carolyn and Bill have provided a modern, very attractive, impeccably clean and comfortable apartment. The kitchen and living space are great and the bed is very comfortable, you have access to your own thermostat, and they provide welcoming flowers, a stocked cupboard, large soft towels, all new appliances, access to a washer and dryer and any help you need. The apartment is within blocks of four NY quality restaurants (rated as among Boston's best), vegetarian and ethnic restaurants, drugstores, a food market, a great wine and cheese store, banks and a stop on the red line for easy transit to Boston. Movies and a mall for major stores are a stop away. We loved living here for four months and recommend it highly.Recommended for: Age 55+, sightseeing, romantic getaway, tourists without a car.

We enjoyed our stay a lot! Great apartment, well furnished and of the right size for a couple. Excellent location, only a few blocks from MIT. And nice hosts too! Location, apartment and owners of the property were excellent. Carolyn and Bill were very thoughtful and considerate. It was raining a lot due to Boston weather and it made it hard to take luggage to the apartment without getting everything dirty. But we enjoyed the fresh flowers, ipad and all the amenities like washer and dryer there. I can't wait to see the gardens in the back when Bill and Carolyn get done with gardens.Recommended for: Age 55+, sightseeing, tourists without a car, adventure seekers.

From the time I arrived, late on a Tuesday night, until I left the following Tuesday afternoon, I experienced the generous hospitality of Carolyn and Bill. Eventhough it was late, Carolyn gave me a brief tour of the apartment and all the things I would need to know to function independantly. My son arrived the following night and we both had a great time in Cambridge and Boston. The beautiful flowers were a very nice touch :)Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

We couldn't be happier with our stay here at Bill & Carolyn's. The apartment is beautiful & was just what we were looking for. It was in a great location, close to everything! I personally appreciated the wonderful welcome we received upon arrival and the books and information about the area. I really enjoyed Central Square, Boston and everything about our trip! Thanks for making it so comfortable!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Owner info
Year Purchased: 1984
About the owner: My name is Carolyn and my husband, Bill, and I will be here to greet you and give you the keys to the apartment when you arrive. In 2010, we spent 2 years working with an architect, lighting designer and contractor to re-envision our home and to create an apartment on our first floor. Both our home and our apartment have turned out to be delightful retreats in the middle of a bustling city environment. One of the many joys of this location is that we can walk to M.I.T. where we both work in the IT department.
Why the Owner Chose Cambridge:
Bill has lived in this home since he was a student at MIT. Several years later, I joined him and together we purchased it in 1984, the year our son was born. We love Central Square for it's rich weave of diversity and culture, restaurants and nightlife, education and the creative and whimsical local merchants!
