Set in the famous 24 hour secure Southern Dunes Golf and Country Club, this lovely privately owned home is more than fully-equipped for the perfect vacation.
Accommodation is in 2 queen size bedrooms both with ceiling fans and 1 bedroom with 2 twins, plus ceiling fan, all linens are good quality. The large tropical feel master bedroom is equipped with cable t.v., ceiling fan and has views over the golf course, the ensuite has double sized bath and large shower with thick fluffy towels.
Open plan full kitchen with breakfast bar, the formal dining area leads to large open plan lounge which has a double height ceiling for a great cool, spacious feeling and our home has the added comfort of deep pile carpet running throughout the house. There is cable T.V and a DVD player in the lounge with a selection of discs both DVD and CD to choose from plus games and plenty of books. It includes free unlimited local and long distance calling to the United States, Canada and Puerto Rico as well as wireless high speed internet.
Try the putting green or driving range at the clubhouse just across the road (2 mins) before having breakfast in our beautiful screened Florida room which overlooks the fourth hole. Or put your feet up in the padded rocker with a good book from our library. Watch the birdlife parade past - cranes, egrets and ibis as you plan your day. Southern Dunes is an award PGA championship golf course ranked number 6 in Florida in Golf Digest 2007 - 2008.
A short four minute walk takes you to one of the 3 quiet community pools large enough for a good cool down swim, complete with chairs and loungers, you often have it to yourselves as it is for the use of our road only. There is a small gym/workout room for the use of Southern Dunes guests.
Disney is only 20 minutes away along with Sea World and all that Orlando has to offer. Not too far from the coast for a day at the beach, west for the Gulf beaches or east for the Atlantic. Catch a launch from Kennedy Space Centre (dates and times on their website), you can watch from Cocoa Beach.
Sited at the entrance to Southern Dunes is a 24 hour Wal-Mart, Winn Dixie and a bank plus plenty of restaurants - Manny's is a must , great food, amazing atmosphere.
Sorry no pets. We have made this a home from home with original artwork and comfortable furniture, not just a rental. Many extra features (thoughtful items like hairdryers, cool box, pool/beach towels, pool toys and beach chairs). We hope you'll enjoy it as much as we do.

Year Purchased: 2003
As we approached retirement we wanted to spend as much time in Florida as we could so purchased our home on Southern Dunes and have never regreted it. After renting for many years and often feeling let down by small things that make a big difference we decided we could do a lot better. So now we ensure that all details no matter how small are taken care of (quality towels and linens) - plenty of DVD's, books etc. Our home doesn't have that bland look of most rentals. As an artist I have been busy painting the local wildlife and views of Florida which adds to our homes welcoming atmosphere.
Why the Owner Chose Southern Dunes
We loved the central location close to the real Florida with it's many nature reserves and being so near to the amusement parks was a bonus. The setting of Southern Dunes Golf & County Club was particularly appealing and being in Haines City with it's small town feel. We weren't disappointed we have lovely neighbours up and down our road - everyone is so friendly and welcoming. They really make you feel part of the community.
The Unique Benefits of this Townhome
With both east and west coast beaches being just over an hour away you have a great choice. Just across the road from the clubhouse means you can drive your cart to pick up your clubs and you never miss a tee off time. The clubhouse restaurant/bar is great for Friday or Saturday nights and the Sunday buffet is well worth sampling. Across the 27 is Manny's which is quite famous in the area and an experience our guests enjoy - but ring ahead it is always busy with great atmosphere, happy hour 4 - 7. With our agents close by our guests have the added security of back up should they need any assistance.

I would recommend your home to anyone looking for a relaxing vacation in a picture perfect setting. Wonderful accommodation's and clean environment, beautiful artwork with all the amenities.The view of the 4th green in the morning, while drinking coffee on your screened patio, will be our most favorite memory. The golf course was beautiful along with being brutal with all the Hugh sand bunkers. We had a delightful time.

My wife & I just concluded a wondeful week at the Walkers' villa. Enjoyed immensely the view of the 4th green & the early morning workers did not bother us a bit. In fact, we enjoyed watching them do their specific job on & around the green each day. We played the course twice & enjoyed both rounds.....a real challenge but an enjoyable one. The home is immaculate, has everything one would want on a vacation, close to Walmart & Drug stores & Winn Dixie,etc.etc. Wish we could stay longer & wisg we could come back in spring of 2012. Can not find the words to describe how the Walkers communicated so well, during our initial chats ( by e-mail ), while we were at their home & the follow-up "Thank You " for coming to their Southern Dunes home. We HIGHLY recommend this villa to all.

My family was traveling to Haines City to have Christmas with my grandpa and dad. We needed a place to stay close to my grandpas retirement village. We looked all over but really couldn't find anything that fit our budget. Then I came across this place and thought the price was very reasonable...and even better the owners were so great to work with. They were flexible and even patient enough to coordinate with my 92 year old grandpa. The place was so nice and cozy for our family. Would highly recommend. The only negative is that its right on one of the greens for the golf course and 2 out of 7 early mornings there were crews working on the green...and they weren't very quiet at 5AM.
Owner response:After having so many lovely comments this rather threw us. This is only the second complaint of this nature in seven years - we usually sleep through the workers, perhaps this guest is a light sleeper as we have had many repeat bookings. It is a golf course with the majority of homes overlooking the course, the greenkeepers have to work early what more can I say? The good news is this guest is still recommending our home with a score of 5 out of 5.

What a great place to stay for your golf trip to Florida. The home is located on a great golf course; you can walk out the patio door onto the 4th green and steps from the clubhouse. Also, just a short drive to other top courses; ChampionsGate, Ridgewood Lakes to name a few. If you like quality golf and want quality accommodation, this is the place for you.

Had a fantastic 2 week stay back in May 09 at this beautifully furnished and maintained home. Situated in a truly spectacular golf course it offers tranquil and secure surroundings with the benefit of a huge Walmart less than 5 minute drive away. Already have a return visit booked for 2 weeks in October 09! Highly recommended.

What an absolutely fabulous house you have, perfect location for all amenities, couldn't ask for anything more of the house,stunning & beautifully done out, very luxurious,and simply 'Wow'! Only criticisism was that I ran out of time and didn't get a round in on the awesome Southern Dunes course! Can't recommend it enough, we can't wait to return! Thank You very much.

Thanks Gill, the house was beautiful and perfect for us. Although it does not have a pool like the other places we have stayed on Southern Dunes, we found it even better to use the lovely communal pool 50 yards down the road. So much space and the sun all day !! We will highly recommend your house to the other parents visiting their children at Webber University. Kind regards Steve
