CASA PLAYA COLORADA
Your privacy is assured at this very large property where every room is on the beach, including the two master suite cabanas. At your front door is the best year round big game fishing in the world. Every room has an ocean view, large windows and patio doors. These in combination with the traditionally constructed palapa roof aid in ventilation so even on the warmest day the breeze comes through the house. The doors, furniture and kitchen cabinets were all hand-carved by an artist in Tlaquepaque on the mainland. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you'll need as well as a Wolf range. The 4 large bathrooms are done in Talavera tiles and the cabana bathrooms have garden showers.
Perfect even for beginning swimmers, the beach has a gradual slope and no undertow or Pacific Ocean swell. A fishing guide in a panga can meet you any morning for a day's fishing for Roosterfish, Dorado, Wahoo, and Marlin.
The same family has managed and maintained the property since it was built. Dona Elida, Elidita and Erendida will assist you with the answers to all your questions about the locale, cultural events and scenic areas. They are fabulous cooks and can arrange anything from small meals to weddings. They can arrange to cook and clean during your stay if you desire.
Both of the master suite cabanas have their own bathrooms; one has a queen bed and one has a cal-king. In the main house, one bedroom has a cal-king bed and its own bathroom while the 4th bedroom with a cal-king shares the hall bathroom. All rooms have sliding glass doors that open to patios.

This is an absolutely fantastic vacation place with amazing views! We had our coffee in the morning on the veranda watching the sun come up over the water, and cocktails watching the sun go down in the mountains - it was breathtaking! I loved falling asleep listening to the waves hitting the beach, either at night in my room, or during the day in the covered patio. It was so relaxing for our family, whether you felt like reading, sunbathing, swimming, or playing beach or board games. It was never too hot - there was a gentle breeze that kept it the perfect temperature the whole time we were there. We can't wait to go back, but this time for longer!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, age 55+, romantic getaway, tourists without a car, families with young children, girls getaway.

Quiet, restful, beautiful, friendly, a feeling of safe-keeping are all words that describe this "little piece of Heaven". Our first trip to Cabo Ribera, but hopefully not our last. If you are looking for the most perfect place to hold your family reunion -- this is it! While it was just the 2 of us, we easily could have had our whole family with us. Just steps from the beach, we enjoyed our time just like honeymooners, walking on the beach or just watching the birds and waves. The town is small and friendly. The house staff was there to meet our every need (which were few -- the house is equipped with everything). Very nice and accomodating in every way. It's situated about 45 minutes north of the airport and is easy to find the town. Pay close attention to the directions on the map as to finding the house. Wonderful experience.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

My family & friends have been enjoying the wonders of this residence & the surrounding area for several years. We have enjoyed fishing, sightseeing, shopping in San Jose, La Paz, Todos Santos & Cabo San Lucas. The life style in La Ribera is very laid back & friendly. We sleep like babies with the doors & windows wide open so that we can hear the surf rolling on the shore. The peace & quiet of this place melts our stress away. It's heaven on earth!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, age 55+, sightseeing, romantic getaway, tourists without a car, families with young children, adventure seekers, girls getaway, people with disabilities.
Owner response: So glad they had a great vacation

Location
Owner info
Year Purchased: 1994
About the owner: The owner has spent 40 years in this bay and is a building contractor in California. He moved his vacation home here from the crowded Los Barriles area for the peace and quiet of this pristine beach where the fishing is superb and the swimming is perfect (no Pacific Ocean swell--calm and shallow enough for children).
Why the Owner Chose La Ribera:
The contractor/owner built this house in La Ribera because of the uncrowded area, private beach and amazing fishing. San Jose and Los Barriles have become too crowded. You'll love the tranquility of this area.
The Unique Benefits at this Villa:
We love having Trino Mijares pick us up in one of his pangas on our beach in front of the house for a days fishing. Trino has 30 years experience in these waters. We also enjoy having Elidita prepare and serve traditional Mexican food at our kitchen bar or out on the patio under the palapa. Her juevos rancheros are amazing! Our grandchildren delight in sleeping out in the lanai and being right on the beach. They are out on the beach or playing games in the lanai from dawn 'til dusk.
