We were very satisfied with our stay at the Honeytown Homestead. We decided to come visit family and friends who live in the area. Instead of going from place-to-place trying to visit everyone, we chose to have a base point and have them come to us. This farmstead worked out perfect. It was easy to find and the whole family really enjoyed the atmosphere. We hope this will be the location for our annual visit to Ohio.Recommended for: Pet owners, families with young children, families with teenagers, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+.

We had such a wonderful time staying in the farm house. It exceeded our expectations and we cannot wait to go back. The cows greeting us in the morning was just perfect! Thank you for opening up this home to the public. It's truly a gem!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

Everything about our stay was incredible. We spent 5 nights, and left feeling totally rejuvenated and ready to get back to our everyday lives. We booked our trip to get away from everything, and just rest. Living in the city, it was a welcome change to spend some time in silence. The most noise we heard while we were there was the occaisional "moo" and if it was really quiet inside the house, we could hear the hooves of the horses pulling buggies down the road. Lois was great, and made sure that we had everything that we needed. The house itself was huge. Much more than my wife and I needed, but without feeling cavernous. All the furniture was very comfortable and inviting. We enjoyed sitting in the dining room for romantic dinners, and the living room was perfect for relaxing and working on a jig-saw puzzle. The kitchen was fully equipped with everything that you could possibly need and more. Also, having a jetted tub at our disposal was a dream come true. The local shops were awesome, and the food was excellent. There was snow on the ground for a good part of our visit, so we didn't spend much time outside. But it was nice to look out the windows and see the cows in the pasture and the seemingly never-ending fields in every direction. The yard was huge to the point that it didn't even matter that most of the area between the house and the road was a corn field. If you're looking for a big, quiet, secluded property to get away from everything this is your place! When we left, we didn't make it two miles down the road before we started talking about wanting to go back! Thank you Lois, and we can't wait to book our next trip!Recommended for: Pet owners, age 55+.

What a beautiful, peaceful house to share! We have always enjoyed our getaways to Amish country and Berlin, but we so enjoyed staying at your house and having the comforts of home with 5 of us. What a peaceful and relaxing few days, just enough to recharge us for our hectic lives. We will be back!!Recommended for: Pet owners, adventure seekers, families with young children, families with teenagers, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+.

We stayed at Honeytown Homestead over New Year's and had an absolutely wonderful time! The pictures do NOT do it justice. There was plenty of space for the 14 of us; the kitchen was well-equipped; the scenery was lovely (especially with all that snow!). The only downside, and it wasn't really an issue, was no shower in the upstairs bathroom, just a bathtub. Other than that, it was a dream! We went for a sleigh ride, did wine and cheese tasting, played games, went sledding and just had a ball. Thanks for everything! The owner was a delight and made us feel extremely welcome.Recommended for: Families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

My husband and I and our dog spent four lovely days at Honeytown Homestead. As others have commented, the photos do not do the place justice nor they show the beauty of the rolling Ohio countryside. The farmhouse reminded me of my grandparents' houses, just larger and more updated. We quickly settled in the living room as our gathering place, but my husband enjoyed writing in the office and I loved cooking in the spacious country kitchen and reading. There are so many quiet nooks for reading or meditation! Our dog didn't know what to make of the cows that come right up to the back fence twice a day; she was also fascinated by the Amish passing by with their horses and buggies. The ramp to the back door was great for our aged, arthritic dog. If you seek peace and quiet, a change of pace from an overly-scheduled, hectic life, this is the place. Yes, there is much to see and do here in Amish country, as other reviewers have testified, but for me, vacations are spiritual retreats. Honeytown Homestead is perfect for that.Recommended for: Pet owners, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway.

My family just enjoyed a weekend long girls trip. We had plenty of room to spread out. The rooms are huge yet cozy. Two bathrooms is a plus with a larger group of women getting ready! The house was comfortable and cozy. We enjoyed movie nights in the living room and making a large Thanksgiving dinner in the kitchen one evening. We did feel the kitchen was a little lacking on some bake-ware put we brought a lot of our kitchen items anyhow. The cows coming in for their breakfast each morning was a family favorite! We had lovely warm temps and loved visiting the cows in the mornings. The house is located within 10-15mins of everything we wanted to do. We spent one day shopping Downtown Wooster and stopped at the Pine Tree Barn on the way home. It was great being so close to everything yet having the space and privacy for our family to enjoy time together! The renters were kind enough to stop by and check on us when we arrived Friday night and ask if we needed anything. They were very pleasant and accommodating to work with! We hope to stay again one day!Recommended for: Families with young children, girls getaway, age 55+.

Twelve cousins gathered together to celebrate a surprise 60th birthday in the family. Did I mention part of the surprise was an older sibling flying in from another state to join in on the celebration? What a wonderful surprise for the birthday girl. This house had such a welcoming atmosphere that all were comfortable while enjoying their stay. The owners were more than happy to accommodate us with extra blankets, pillows, and towels. We enjoyed talking with them about the area. Honeytown market, just down the road is an excellent place to start. We enjoying the first two nights decorating and celebrating the birthday, and on Saturday we spent the day traveling the Amish towns and seeing the longest covered bridge, The Bridge of Dreams. We ended the celebration with a family meal at Mrs. Yoders in Mt. Hope. We had an excellent time and would definitely rent this VRBO again.Recommended for: Pet owners, adventure seekers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+.
