Fairway Cottage, a warm and welcoming modern holiday cottage, is both a golfer’s and a beach lover’s dream.
Located on the spectacular Rosapenna Golf Courses, it is a cosy but spacious & well equipped holiday home. It will appeal equally to golfers and those who enjoy walks, mountain scenery and the rugged grandeur that Ireland’s North West region has to offer
Located on the Rosguill Peninsula and enjoying commanding views over the Ards Estuary, Downings is a quiet fishing village famous for its welcoming locals and excellent tourist facilities including its ‘blue flag’ sandy beach. Attracting visitors from all over the world, a stay in Downings is a fantastic base from which to explore the many sights and attractions Donegal has to offer.
With three first class hotels offering excellent leisure and recreation facilities, a stay in Downings will help you
unwind and relax amongst stunning local scenery. Enjoy a walk or drive along the picturesque ‘Atlantic Drive’ which boasts stunning views over the Atlantic.
The golf courses offer the opportunity to enjoy some of the best links courses in Ireland AND to follow in the footsteps of the young Rory McIlroy. A teenage McIlroy was the first winner of the Rosapenna Scratch Cup which was played on both the Old Tom Morris and Sandy Hills courses. Old Tom Morris was known as the 'father of golf' and traditionalists will love the fact that the back nine of the old course are largely unchanged from his original lay-out of 1893.
The area is known for its water-sports, as well as its music. In the evenings the pubs and restaurants are colourful
and vibrant offering food and entertainment to suit all tastes

About the owner: Sean and Caroline are the owners of Fairway Cottage. They live in Dublin, are both journalists, and love to get away to the peace and quiet of Donegal, with or without their six, mainly adult, children.
Why the Owner Chose Dunfanaghy:
Since our honeymoon in Donegal, in 1985, this part of Donegal has occupied a special place in our affections. We love the views, the peace and quiet, the golf, and especially, the people. They are welcoming, genuine and friendly.
The Unique Benefits at this Cottage:
The house is just a five minute walk from Tra Mor, a magnificent 3 mile beach at the edge of Sheephaven Bay and its magnificent views of Muckish mountain and Horn Head. It is also just a short stoll to the Golf pavilion and a 40 minute drive from the vast expanse of Glenveigh National Park.
