Kahana condo description
Our Kahana Reef unit is a third-floor, studio condominium in a low-rise building with 611 square feet including the lanai. You are within 35 feet of the ocean breakwater overlooking Molokai and Lanai islands. This is an end unit with full privacy and side windows for more light and airflow. You will see beautiful sunsets at all times of the year in a romantic, quiet environment. Whales are visible from the unit during whale season (December to April) and you may see turtles, dolphins and rays from the lanai.
There is a queen-size, wall bed in the living room looking out at the water and a single bed, dresser, and mirror in a half bedroom on the road side. Your bed is out of sight during the day and you sleep comfortably on a queen size bed at night listening only to the sound of the ocean - street noise is not heard on this side of the building.
The washers and dryers are located in the shared laundry room on the first floor which can be accessed by either stairs or elevator.
There is a beach beginning at the property next door to the north and extending past two other condominium properties or the pool and lounge chairs on site can be used.
Some of the units in this complex have ocean views but side views are blocked by other buildings in the complex. Our unit is in the building closest to the water and no other building in the complex is in our view.
This complex is close to Maui Brews in the Kahana Gateway shopping center. China Boat is across the street. Sports Club Kahana is located a short walk south with yoga, zumba, boxing, machines and massage available.

Best Place to Enjoy the Aloha Spirit
Best Place to Enjoy the Aloha Spirit
One translation of Aloha is "To consciously manifest life joyously in the present" and this is exactly what you experience in this condo. The sunrises and sunsets are simply breathtaking and you can enjoy them right from your lanai - with turtles passing by right in front of the condo complex. Not only can you see the beautiful sunsets and the turquoise ocean but also the constantly changing light and clouds over Molokai and Lanai and the sporadic rainbow which seems to go on for miles! The unit is very spacious, well-equipped, clean and comfortable and stays cool even when it is really hot outside. Well, what else to say - Aloha!

You never know if the photos on line are accurate or 10 years old. The photos on line are exactly how the unit looks. It was clean, comfortable and perfect for us. I considered going by myself and was a bit concerned traveling alone as a woman but would feel completely safe on my own. When I showed my friend the pictures of the unit he changed his mind and decided to come. We had an amazing time. We rushed "home" to enjoy the sunsets from the deck 8 nights out of the 11 we were there. No loud parties, tourists, or maids pounding on the doors at the crack of dawn, only crashing waves, turtles, whales and sailboats silhouetted in the sunset. Convenient to everything. The owner emailed suggestions which we did try. Maui Brewing for eat in and take out, The Plantation House for brunch and Sea House at Napili for pupus were excellent choices. The Fish Market was inexpensive for fish tacos, making your own poke or cooking your own fish. We didn't turn the TV on the entire time, enjoyed the slack key music on the stereo and would have taken my iPod connector to listen to more if I had known. Enjoyed the hawaiian books in the unit. I hesitate to give this home a great review for fear it won't be available for us but I'm putting in my reservations for next year now! This little piece of heaven was perfect for us!

My husband and I spent one month in this condo. We watched whales every morning from our linae with our coffee. I snorkeled out front off a sandy beach which was just north of the property. The unit has everything you need. It was neat and clean. People were surfing, kiteboarding, windsurfing out front of the unit. Beautiful sunsets. Convenient location near grocery stores, restaurants yet on a section of Lower Haliopanni Rd. which is less traveled. We look forward to returning. I would recommend this rental to anyone who seeks a piece of Paradise.

Comments: We just got back from our trip to Maui. This condo was very comfortable. We really enjoyed our stay. The view was magnificient. We saw whales from the lanai. We can not say enough about this wonderful unit. Owner comments: These comments were submitted by a guest to the guestbook, but somehow didn't get posted so I'm manually putting them in. Thanks.

My friend and I spent a wonderful week in maui in Februrary. We went to go whale watching. It was unbeleivable. I had spoken with the owner and she was great about giving us tips on dining and site seeing. All of which turned out to be great. The condo has a view that the pictures do not do justice. The sounds of the waves, and being 30 feet from the water is to good to be true. The condo is very quiet and comfortable. We found it to be well equiped with everything we needed. The condo complex is well groomed and maintained a beautiful setting. We enjoyed being close enough to all the activities but yet being a way from all the crowds a real plus. you could not pick a greater lani for relaxing with a good book and a glass of wine. The view is the best and your added bonus is the right time of the year you can see whales breach right from the condo more times than we could count.

Year Purchased: 1999
About the owner: My husband and I purchased this property in 1999 since we were traveling to Hawaii several times a year to vacation. We love this spot and the privacy that it provides us as well as the pleasure of watching the ocean unfold in front of us each day we are here.
Why the Owner Chose Kahana:
We purchased this unit because it is an end unit with side windows which provide more air flow and light. We sometimes feel like we're in a tunnel in other units with no side view. We like the third floor level because no one can look into the unit unless they are in the water so we don't need to keep the curtains closed - we always have a view. We like being on the end for the quiet that the end units enjoy - no one walks past our unit. We also don't look at other buildings in the complex as units in other the other buildings do. We like the complex because it's centrally located to the shopping and sights, but when we get back to our unit, it's quiet and private.
The Unique Benefits at this Condo:
Whale watching from December to April from the lanai with a glass of wine. Turtles and dolphins all year long.
