We had a wonderful time at the cabin. It was so nice to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city. No cell phones, no computer, ahhhh it doesn't get much better than that. I love the library and the fact that there is not television service. I was forced to read and explore and loved every minute of it. The Wenatchee Forest about 10 - 15 miles up the river is great to explore and I am excited to return soon. We watched the sky every night, Friday and Saturday lightening storm and Sunday/Monday meteor showers. It is centrally located so we could go to Chelan one day and Leavenworth the next. Or just go down to Entiat City Park and relax at the Columbia River. I also brought a lot of things I did not need as the kitchen is very well stocked with cooking utensils. Thank you Karen and Joe we had a wonderful trip.

The peaceful serenity of the setting was exactly what we were looking for. We spent 3 nights at the cabin and had a great time. The cabin was well appointed and allowed for privacy and relaxation. Joe and Karen Kelly were very hospitable and helpful in supplying information on local sites and area history. We will definitely return again when our schedules permit. Thank you Joe and Karen.

A fabulous little escape
A fabulous little escape
We had 4 people stay for 2 nights in an attempt to get away from it all - and we did just that! Found snowshoeing nearby by asking around at Cooper's Store (the Kellys were gone that day) and it was beautiful. A lot of wildlife and a cozy, well-kept cabin with an incredible setting. Go here - enjoy it! We'll be back for sure (our goal is all four seasons). Thanks, Joe and Karen!

The perfect place to unwind
The perfect place to unwind
In reading previous reviews, we agree with all that has been said. The owners are great hosts. The cabin is comfortable, relaxing and down to earth and is located in a quiet and out-of-the-way area. Unfortunately, it rained, then snowed and was overcast much of the time we were there, but we found a lot of great drives and and short hikes to take nearly every direction we chose to go. And we also took the boat ride on Lake Chelan which was interesting, but make sure to sit near a speaker so you can hear all that the captain is saying about the area. The cabin is affordable and highly recommend renting the it for peace and quiet, conversation and sight-seeing (on those narrow mountain roads). There is beauty around every bend of the road.

our stay at the kelly's cabin was fantastic!! such a perfect getaway--nestled in the mountains far away from it all. the cabin was super sweet with a front porch, a woodstove, a little loft and a kitchen. i felt like i could stay there for weeks and just read/write/make art/do yoga. we did venture out a few times, though, and here are some things i learned and do/don't recommend: DEFINITELY go out and look at the stars at night (beautiful!!). also the waterfall hike that joe recommends is amazing--there is a ledge where you can sneak behind the falls just a little bit, and/or if you are more adventurous and the weather is hot you can stand just a bit beneath the falls (at your own risk of course--i'm sure this isn't recommended and don't sue me if you get swept away!!). the drive to lake chelan is not bad, and you can hit fruit stands/wineries/etc along the way. one thing to be warned of: don't use google maps or your gps directions to get to the kelly's cabin!!! we off-roaded for about an hour and a half in my poor little corolla, navigating a treacherous mountain ledge and super rocky dirt roads. oops. anyway, all in all i highly recommend the kelly's cabin!! and i almost forgot to mention how nice the kellys are!!! this is really a gem of getaway and i hope to return. thanks team kelly!!

Warm, Comfortable Cabin
Warm, Comfortable Cabin
I've stayed in this cabin more than once. It's got everything you need, even in the dead of winter. Wood stove, small kitchen, easy access to the amazing countryside and Entiat River, cross country skiing, hiking. Close to the Columbia River, and Wenatchee for supplies. The location is off the main road, which is great. And reasonably priced!!

Peace and quiet
Peace and quiet
This cabin was the most peaceful, quiet place we've ever stayed! We cross-country skied on trails just a couple miles away, and you can strap on your snow shoes and hike for miles right out the back door. We've also stayed at the cabin in the summer and kayaked on the river which is very close. The cabin is warm and cozy in the winter and equally enjoyable in the hot summer months as you sit on the shaded porch with a cold drink. For city-dwellers, the stargazing at night is beyond belief!

Year Purchased: 1996
About the owner: My wife and I live 100 yds away in a log cabin we built ourselves in 1979. We've owned this property since 1975. We're both retired, Karen from the hospital and Joe as a biologist with the BLM in Wenatchee. We have horses, irrigated alfalfa and cut our own hay. We are experienced in all the local hiking and backpacking trails in the Entiat Ranger District. We can direct you to the best mountain biking, xc ski and snowmobiling trails.
Why the Owner Chose Entiat:
We built this cabin new in 1996 after a huge 1994 Tyee Wildfire burned through our property. The recovery since the fire is amazing. You can easily see the 18 yr old fire scars, as well as the young forest growing back.
The Unique Benefits at this Cabin:
The peace and quiet in a rural setting is the best anywhere. Lots of wildlife viewings. Wolf sighting capital of Chelan county. Best place ever to watch beavers at work. Very close to xc ski trails and snowmobiling. You'll wish you lived here year round.
