Couldn't ask for a better place to stay--perhaps a little further away from the center than most B&B's but a very pleasant and quiet walk right to the Zocalo. The owner, Cathy, is a potter with a great collection of folk art, the views of the town and the valley are wonderful, and the place is equipped with anything you need for a self-catering holiday, very clean and well furnished, etc. The long covered verandah is great for hanging out in the evenings. We would certainly stay there again, and recommend it highly.Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, sightseeing.
Owner response: Thank you , Folks!! Cathey

This home away from home had everything we would want - clean, well-cared for, very well-located from our perspective being close enough to the centre of the city but far enough away to be out of the bustle of daily life. We considered ourselves to have been very lucky to have found this accomodation and hope to be able to use it again.Recommended for: Age 55+, girls getaway, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, sightseeing.

About the owner: David & I are from Berkeley, CA.,but fell in love with Oaxaca after just one short visit. We were small hotel owners in Guatemala before retiring here. After building this 2 unit house-renting just seemed the perfect way to share our love of Oaxaca! Now, as we take a getaway, we want to offer you OUR beautiful, comfortable, art filled HOME !! You will get to know Veronica & Judith our wonderful caretakers!
Why the Owner Chose Oaxaca:
Oaxaca, Mexico offers such a wonderful array of things to explore. As a ceramic artist, I love to visit the local potters, weaving villages & the fabulous prehispanic ruins.Art abounds here & some evenings as many as 3 art openings, make fun social outings. Restaurants here offer delicious, Oaxacan fare, & there are a number of great cooking schools. We feel like Oaxaca chose us!
The Unique Benefits at this Apartment:
Our home, is located a short 15 min. walk to the historic center,' the Zocolo ', close to Spanish
schools, churches, & museums. We designed
the house for entertaining, with its open floor plan & well appointed kitchen. The fabulous view from the huge roof garden entices us to relax at days end.The local library offers over 30 thousand books, most in English, plus hundreds of DVDs.Gardening in Oaxaca is a terrific hobby as there are so many easy to grow plants. I'm a handwoven textile collector so I enjoy shopping for 'huipils', as well as wearing them. The country's only textile museum is a delight!
