We rented this cottage for a family/friend concert weekend and had people coming from out-of-state. The cottage was gorgeous inside and managed to fit us all, rather comfortably. It was only a half hour or so from Darien Lake where the concert was. The view of the lake was amazing and the neighbors were also very kind and friendly. The homeowner was very prompt in responding to us and from beginning to end was very efficient. I fell in love with the kitchen ! We didn't do any swimming but just enjoyed a VERY peaceful weekend. We agreed that we would probably rent this place again next year, because it was what you would want in a weekend getaway ! The only downfall was the prior renter's didn't fill the propane tank for the grill, but luckily there is a store nearby and we filled it. I would gladly recommend it to friends, but almost want to keep it as our "secret getaway".Recommended for: Families with teenagers, age 55+, adventure seekers, pet owners, girls getaway, romantic getaway.

I instantly fell in love with the town of Lyndonville! It’s so peaceful and beautiful. The bright blue skies are to die for, and the fresh food from the local Amish market and produce stands was simply delicious. The cottage was the perfect size for a family of four (we have two young boys ages 2 and 3). The kitchen is great – fully loaded, completely functional, lots of space for seating. I found the kitchen very easy to work in during our stay, which was good since we cooked all meals and snacks at the house (there’s no restaurants in the immediate area; hardly any commercialization in the town at all). The yard is large and flat, with access right onto the lake. There’s a bit of a steep slope to the water and lots of rocks, so you just have to be careful with young children. Our first day there, the waves were pretty rough but were calm the other days. My husband tried fishing from the backyard many times but didn’t catch anything. The neighbor said there are only a few months that are good for catching fish in that location. There is a teeter totter and swings in the yard that my boys enjoyed playing on. There’s also PLENTY of room in the yard to run around or just relax on a lawn chair and look out at the lake. The only downside to the cottage is the bathroom – it’s pretty tiny. It’s definitely not horrible, but after our 3-day stay, I was ready to get back to my bathroom at home. There was no tub, so I had to wash the boys off in the shower. There is no A/C, but that wasn’t an issue at all. The breeze was plenty to keep the cottage cool. There’s no Internet access either, but we were able to find one spot in the kitchen where the MiFi we brought found a connection. It’s a very rural area, but with plenty to do within 20-30 miles. We drove about 15 minutes to a local berry patch (Brown’s). We also drove about an hour away to Niagara Falls. For something closer, there’s Golden Hill State Park about ½ mile away with a short hiking trail. There’s plenty of good photo opportunities around the scenic countryside if you’re into photography. We also noticed a handful of local wineries but didn’t visit any. I could have easily spent a whole week there and hope to return in the future. If you’re into doing lots of stuff on vacation, then this might not be the spot for you, but if you’re looking for a little slice of heaven from the crazy hustle and bustle of “reality”, then this is a great escape!!Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, families with young children.

I rented Haptons North as a last second holiday rental for the 4th of July. Our group was looking for a home on Lake Ontario where we could enjoy the water and have a bonfire. Hamptons North ended up being a great find for us. Aside from sleeping we spent most of our time outdoors. The house itself is very clean though, with some thoughtful updates throughout. To round out the experience, I found that our actual experience of renting was very clean and easy. The owners have a nicely put together set of instructions ready to send out immediately, and communication was quick and easy.Recommended for: Girls getaway, romantic getaway, families with young children.

Overall I was quite happy with the place. It was a great place to relax and enjoy the awesome view. It was so peaceful I would recomment it to anyone who is just looking to relax. The accomodations in the place were great they had lots of fans to use to keep the place cool. The Decor was very nice and I really liked that they had all kitchen unticils that we would need. I think I will definatly go back again.Recommended for: Girls getaway, families with young children.
