This cottage is on one of the most pristine lakes in the United States with 90% of it's shoreline in national forestland. Unlike many other southern lakes, the Lake Santeetlah water level is maintained at high levels year round. On this 8 mile lake there is an abundance of spectacular scenic views, rope swings to get your heart pumping fast, short and tall rocks and cliffs to jump off of & quiet coves to explore with few if any boats or Jetskis in sight on many days.

This house has 3 bedrooms and sleeps eight.
The large 600 square foot screened-in sleeping porch includes a beautiful natural gas fireplace with glass sides for chilly evenings or for watching like a campfire.
This cottage is in a quiet neighborhood on a quiet lake. If you like loud music and screaming and yelling late at night, this is not the place for you.
~ This property has 40 feet of lakefront. The dock is 8' x 16'. You will love swimming in the crystal clear water of Lake Santeetlah. Our cove faces west so we watch a wide, wondrous sunset. In the daytime, part of the dock is in the shade and part in the sun. You can dive and play in the water and dry off fast in the sun while others can sit in the shade watching, cheering on, reading etc... We had not considered these attributes (a shady spot on the water) when looking for a lake house but are thankful they are this way. This beautiful mountain lake home is about 1.5 hours from Asheville, 2 hours from Knoxville & about 3 from Atlanta.

About the owner: We are a happy family living in Asheville, N.C. Our oldest is in college now so we're finding there are many weeks over the summer we will not be able to use our great lakehouse and so we are making it available to others.

It is hard to imagine a lake with no people. This is about as uncrowded as you can get in the U.S. in 2013!
